Takara checked their watch as they walked. Usually, they held interviews back at the office, but given Loki had decided to--once again--set off the sprinkler system, Takara had to leave the office in the hands of their assistants. One of them was currently trying to dry off the zorua. Takara had offered to do so, but bless their assistants, they had offered to do it instead so Takara wouldn't be late. The trip from the office here wasn't too bad, besides, Takara had to be in the area anyway for other business. Salve Co. had been wanting to expand to... well, the board wanted to expand one of the Salve Co. branches. Takara thought they had enough branches in that certain area. Ah well.
Shri walked beside Takara with purpose, just happy to escape the damn office for a different city entirely. The blue pup did not appreciate Loki's pranks. Bast, the newest addition to Takara's team, decided to come along if only because she wanted to escape Loki's pranks for a little while as well. Much like Shri, the cat had grown tired of the pranks during business hours.
Takara slowed to a stop at the meeting place, one of the local parks. They gave a sigh and loosened their tie, keeping a neutral expression. Office work was killing them, but Takara would use any excuse to escape the board trying to pressure them to sign papers that wouldn't do any good. Oh well, it was what it was. "Well, Shri, Bast," Takara said, looking down at the two young pokemon. "Here we are! See who we are looking for?" Bast and Shri looked around. Did they?

Kain is leaning against a wall, watching the town move around him. He looks down at Torchic. "Keep in mind, just because we might be working for them, doesn't mean we trust them...alright? We just need to play nice until we figure out what the hell they're up to." Torchic pecks his leg in response. "Chicky!"
Kain pushes off of the wall when he sees Takara, "Oi! You're the Salve CEO, right? I'm Kain Ramsay, we are supposed to have a sit down and talk about employment, specifically mine." Kain looks Tara over, before reaching down to poke Torchic in response to the earlier peck. Shri picked up on the incomer first. She... still had issues placing what she felt from others, but she could recognize when something seemed to be directed anywhere towards Takara. She perked up, Bast doing the same. Unlike Shri, Bast let out a friendly call and looked up at Takara, giving a purr and trotting over to Kain and the torchic. Takara nodded and gave a polite smile, approaching and stopped with their hands in their pockets."Yes, hello. Mr. Ramsay. I'm Dr. Wilton," they said, knowing to keep professional titles for now. Takara didn't... mind if people used their first name but when meeting a potential employee it was important to keep up respect and proper appearances. People expected the CEO of Salve Co., not the guy that would order a 4 shot espresso coffee at the local cafe and then go feed ducklett for seven hours while having an existential crisis. "Yes, please, over here." Takara moved to a bench and sat down, Shri jumping up to sit down next to them, watching Kain and the torchic carefully. Bast laid at Takara's feet, purring very happily. "So, Mr. Ramsay, what position are you hoping for in Salve? We want to... ensure that you have a job you believe you will enjoy while working for us, even if you would prefer a part time." Something Takara had started, much to the general hatred of the board. No! They said, things had to stay like the old days! Nope, Takara had argued. Times were changing and Salve had to adapt to that and think about the people. The more they had from all walks, the better, resumes be damned. Besides, there were new ways to test someone's potential as a good employee.

Kain nods after a moment. "So...what kind of positions are you offering? I don't have a degree or anything, but I'm not picky when it comes to work. I'll do whatever you need me to do, full time or part time...but I have some things to hash through first. My salary, and I want information. Is that a problem?" Torchic runs up to to the bench, staring up at Shri with his beady little eyes. Agitated that he can't reach the other pokemon, he pecks the bench near Shri's foot. Fortunately for Bast, Torchic's attention is solely on the Pokemon that did not immediately present themselves for inspection. "chicKEY!!" comes the indignant cry. |

Takara hummed and nodded. "Salary depends on the position and as for information... that is also related to the position. All positions do pay a living wage, however. But we have done away with degree requirements for jobs that don't necessarily need one. Clearly someone would need an advanced degree in engineering to design our buildings or in medicine to work in the medical aspect of the company, but everything else is open." Some jobs just required better training, especially if it involved the health and safety of people involved."But, we currently have some field jobs. Taking notes of pokemon you see in an area, what species appear to be rare, what their environments are like. We also have some office jobs such as customer service representation, data entry, filing, such jobs as that. So, before I can get into specifics, I'll need to know what it is you want to do and then I can figure out a good job for you and we can get into the details." Shri took note of the torchic, not quite knowing how to respond. She gave Bast a glance before jumping down an giving a smile and a greeting. Bast watched carefully, tail flicking back and forth.

Kain nods, "I'm not really an office kind of guy...I'm more of a make things happen kind of guy. I don't really have an issue with whether something is right or wrong, as long as Pokemon don't get hurt. People are one thing, most of them are total bastards, but there is no such thing as an evil Pokemon." Torchic looks Shri over before scratching at the ground, spitting a small fireball at the ground. "chi-KEY!!!!" Kain gently scritches the small bird's head. "He's uh...more than a little combative, but we're hard workers and don't back down from anyone or anything." Hmm, what an.... interesting thing to say during an interview. Takara thought about it for a moment. "Well, I'd much prefer is no human got hurt either, but I do like the attitude you have towards pokemon. It's nice to see." They looked down at Shri, the riolu raising a brow at the torchic before looking up at Takara. Huh, seemed like the fire type was raring for a fight."There are plenty of field jobs! Currently, I'm interested in looking at what pokemon are living where. They have been gone for a while, so I want to make sure any Salve construction leaves pokemon unharmed and offers enough proper open space for them. We don't want to disrupt the natural world too much with any buildings. So, if you want to take a field cataloging position, that comes with a decent wage. Livable, by all means, even a little beyond that. You'll also know of future ideas of construction or transportation jobs, what Salve plans to offer that requires new builds and the like." Shri tugged at Takara's pants leg, giving a bit of a bark up at them. Takara tried to understand before giving a small 'ah'. "Well, pokemon are back and it looks like your torchic has a bit of fire going! How about we make the interview more interesting. Clearly, if you wanted to do field work, you'd be working against wild pokemon, so how about showing Shri and I what ya'll can do in battle?" They asked. "Shri hasn't had a lot of battle experience yet, but I'm sure it'll be fun." Shri gave an enthusiastic nod. It seemed this torchic had some real kick! It'd be a learning experience for sure!

Kain smirks, "Let's make a deal, if I beat you I get access to that fancy private island...if you win, you can donate any future raises to Pokemon welfare. Sound good?" Kain gives Torchic some good scritches, looking up at Takara. "Unless you don't think you'll win? What do you even have on that island? What do you mean transportation jobs?" He cracks his neck as he stands. Takara let out a laugh, although Shri turned her attention to them. She knew that laugh. It was one Takara used with the board when they were not amused but too polite to say anything. "Sorry, but no. Salve Island is confidential information. Besides, I donate to pokemon welfare projects anyway." Even if Takara was willing to say anything, they couldn't. It was an island, that was the extent of their knowledge, but they'd find out. There was a finite amount of documents at Salve Co. after all. "I don't think Shri will win. She is still a young pup, after all. She's growing, but she's usually at the office with me so... not a lot of time to practice, ya know?"
Takara looked at Shri and smiled, but she saw it was a little strained. Very well, she'd make sure to keep an eye on this stranger. But still! A battle sounded fun. "Transportation jobs are for any equipment we need to a certain location but we don't want to disturb the natural environment. So, say we needed a crane somewhere to help with something, but some pokemon made their home near the construction site, we'd want to be as careful as possible. We have a whole team concentrated on that." The board didn't like it, but Takara didn't care. Pokemon were vital to the world, that much was obvious. Besides, Takara had learned that being patient and kind to wild pokemon was always better than being aggressive. It was best to leave pokemon be if they wanted.

Kain beams, "Alright then, let's get this show on the road! This'll be my and Torchic's first bit of action!" He stretches, cracking his neck. Torchic runs in circles around Kain's legs before stopping and scratching at the ground, daring Shri to move first. Kain smiles softly, "There won't be any hard feelings about this, will there?" He didn't really expect an invite to the island or anything, but closed mouths don't get fed, and Kain refused to go hungry again. Stepping into position with Bast at their heels, Takara chuckled and shook their head. "Nope! No hard feelings. Just a fun battle!" And a chance to make sure that this guy and his pokemon were competent in battle, field work could get ugly.
Shri stepped out onto the field and watched the torchic carefully before smiling at the challenge. This was going to be fun! "Shri, Quick Attack!" Takara said, the blue dog darting off at the mere sound of the words. She moved in quick to get a hard kick off to start before backing away a distance, skidding to a stop. She was now focused, any hint of a smile gone as she narrowed her eyes, hoping to improve her skills by studying her opponent and her own movements.

Shri looked back at Takara. "Quick Attack again!" She rushed forward to get another good hit off, but hissed at the pain of the embers spouting across her fur. It singed a little bit, but amazingly, no burn. She stood up and shook herself off, getting ready to rush again. Takara hummed, speed was on their side with quick attack, but they had to be fast... that ember was a tough customer.

Shri darted forward once more, knowing she gave a solid hit, but for some reason, the flames burned hotter. She let out a grunt of pain and fell to a knee, not fit to continue fighting. Takara held up a hand to signal the battle was over. "Nice going! You two will do just fine in field work! Come by the office and ask for me, I'll confirm you have been hired and you can fill out the paperwork." Takara picked up Shri, holding her close. Bast looked up at Shri and gave a worried noise, Shri just waved her off, giving her own smile.
"This has been fun, but I should get Shri to a Pokemon Center. I look forward to working with you." Takara smile.
