After the disappearance of Pokemon, Deprin's existing Pokemon League fell apart. Now that Pokemon have returned, it falls to the new generation of trainers to build a gym system from scratch. That means that your character could become a gym leader (or even Elite Four or Champion) if they meet the requirements below.
Currently, Deprin has 0 gyms, meaning there are 8 gym leader positions open.
Gym battles in Deprin must be rolled; the gym leader and challenger are each permitted a team of up to 3 Pokemon.

Building gyms
- A character must have all existing gym badges to create a new gym.
- Gyms must be created in existing cities that do not already have gyms.
- To play a gym leader, you must be familiar enough with Pokemon Rapture's battle mechanics to run your own rolled battles. You will be responsible for running rolled battles for gym challengers -- making all the rolls and coin flips and determining the outcomes of each turn.
- Your gym leader character should focus on a particular Pokemon type. They must have at least two Pokemon of this type to start their gym. The third Pokemon on their gym team can be of a different type, but should suit the gym thematically.
- Your gym team must include at least one Pokemon of level 15 or higher, and Pokemon on gym teams may not be below level 5.
- It is up to you to determine the type and theme of your character's gym and to design both the gym itself and the badge awarded for it. Get creative!
- To become a gym leader, a character must take part in a rolled exhibition battle, typically with the League Rep, Farrah Whitaker. You do not need to win this battle for your character to become a gym leader, but you will be running the mechanics of the battle to demonstrate that you are prepared to run battles for your gym.
- Gym leader characters will be expected to act as leaders in their towns for purposes beyond just gym battles! Be sure you and your character are prepared for such a commitment.
- Gym leading is also an OOC commitment to respond to gym challengers in a reasonable amount of time. If it takes you more than 2 weeks to respond to a challenger's thread at any point, you may be asked to step down as a gym leader.
- If a gym leader knows that they will be offline for 2 weeks or more, they should contact staff to talk about how to manage their gym in their absence. Depending on the length and nature of their absence, they may be asked to let another character take over as a temporary gym leader.
