Pokémon Rapture is a slow based pokémon roleplay site. We are designed for slow, "dead" periods, especially since this site is designed for adults that are working full time jobs or currently in school. If you enjoy slow-paced rping with updates that continue to happen despite slow periods, we are the site for you!

I. The Basics

i. Respect. Disrespectful behavior is not tolerated. This extends to all people involved in the forum, including guests. If a problem arises that cannot be solved through conversation with the person, please reach out to the site admins, Admin and/or Artificiary , or a mod of your choice. Please bear in mind that any bigotry or hateful rhetoric/attitudes will quickly be dealt with through a permanent ban.

ii. Pokémon Rapture is 18+ Only. This forum, while not premium, is considered to be 18+ by its staff. While ProBoards allows 13+ to join forums, if you are under 18, please understand that the people that have created and manage this forum are adults, as are most of the players here. Our official rating is 3-1-1. We permit mature language, mild innuendo/sexual references and mild violence. We do not permit heavy sexual content or heavy gore and violence. Anything that breaks our rating will need to be taken off site. We follow fade-to-black protocols.

iii. Heavy Topics. We allow heavy topics in roleplay and character backstories which can include, but not limited to: drug use, suicide, self-harm, character death, Pokémon death, mental health issues, abuse, etc. While everything must follow our official rating, threads that allude to these topics must be marked with a M for Mature with a proper list of trigger warnings.

• Discussion of these issues is in a fictional context; please refrain from discussing them in real life contexts as real life requires more sensitivity than fictional characters and situations.
• Please be respectful to anyone suffering from something in this list and do not force them to talk about it or engage in a thread with the material. Always discuss with your RP partner topics that might be brought up in the thread.
• Respect someone's triggers. If they state they are no longer okay with a subject being discussed in roleplay, it must be dropped immediately.

iv. Accessibility. We wish for everything on this site, including mobile and tablet devices, to be accessible. We do encourage you to express yourself through templates (self-made or pre-made), but please keep accessibility in mind when it comes to text size and readability. Should you find something on the site that is not accessible, please inform Admin and Artificiary right away.

v. No Spam. Spam, for obvious reasons, is not permitted on site or on our Discord. This includes trying to spam for more EXP or for any other reason to game the site's system. Offenses will be punished with up to three warnings, then a permanent ban. Guests that are spamming will be banned immediately.

II. Roleplay

i. This is an English Forum. Please do your best to use proper English spelling and grammar. It is perfectly fine if English is not your first language! Try your best! We only ask things be readable. All posts on site and the Discord must be in English for moderation purposes.

ii. Give What You Get. While you do not have to match someone's word count or amount they are posting, please be respectful and try to provide enough for your roleplay partner to work off of--including staff during moderation threads. Please refrain from only 1-2 sentence replies unless agreed upon by your partner.

iii. Semi-Liquid Time and Open Travel. We run on semi-liquid time, meaning your character can be in multiple threads at once; however, these threads fall on your character's and the site's timeline. You can also travel to any location you wish, regardless of it's position on the map. Please use your best judgement with the timelines. We know things can get a bit wiggly with time. We mostly ask you don't bring in pokémon you just caught/traded into a thread that was active before the pokémon was obtained (or badges, battles, events, etc).

• Example 1: You are in a thread with a rp partner and in an encounter thread. Any pokémon captured in the encounter thread cannot appear in the rp thread. The encounter thread must end before the pokémon can appear in a new thread.
• Example 2: If you are in an event thread, any other threads that were active before the start of the event can only mention the event in future tense. If you start a thread after you begin the event thread, it is your choice if it is present, past, or future (such as, "I was going to go there now!", "I did that! It was fun!", or "I was thinking about going, it's tomorrow, right?").
• Example 3: You can travel anywhere that is open (i.e. Salve Island is invite only). You can go from one point in the map all the way to the other, no matter the location of your character's threads.

iv. Canon Lore and Setting. Please ensure you review our Setting and Lore for Pokémon Rapture. While we encourage players to help expand the site's lore and make changes to the world, we do want these changes/the general feel of the site to be respected, especially the work from players that has fully reshaped parts of the world! Generally, we ask that you do not go out of your way to disrespect the site's canon lore or setting.

v. Roleplay with your characters in the same thread. If you wish to have your characters active in the same thread with another person, you can do so as long as you follow these rules:

• You can only post from one character account the entire thread, but you can play your other character(s) in these posts as well. This means you post from Character A's account, but you still play Character A and B in the same posts.
  
• The character account you post from gets the EXP from the thread and is the only one of your characters allowed to use that thread for level-up requirements.
• There has to be at least one more person playing in this thread.
• If you only want interactions between your characters, you can use the Drabbles and Journals section. You earn no EXP and you cannot get any level-up requirements from it.
• Events will be on a base-by-base case listed in the event rules (if applicable).
  
• There are no exceptions to these rules.

III. Account, Images, and Artwork

i. OOC Account and One Account per Character. We require everyone to have one OOC account and then one account per character. Each account has a section to add in associated accounts. All character applications must be posted from your character account. This helps with organization and moderation. Remember you can connect all your accounts to the same email by clicking in the bottom right corner. (Your OOC account is used for maintenance purposes, such as joining events, trading between characters, etc).

ii. Trackers/PC. Each character must have their own tracker/PC. This aids staff in performing requested maintenance on your pokémon such as leveling up or evolving them. "Trackers" is a loose term used here to refer to the thread where you track your character's pokémon, items, gym badges, etc. You are permitted to have thread trackers and the like on your own, but one tracker for your character's pokémon is required for moderation purposes.

iii. Account Images Overview. Please review the following list carefully and in its entirety.

• Your character's profile images must be either of the character themselves or one of their current pokémon. You MUST have an avatar, otherwise your character won't earn EXP (we don't know why it is like this).
  
• Pokémon Rapture does not require face claims. While you are permitted to use a face claim, please ensure you have permission to use the artwork. Official artwork from the IP of the face claim (ex. official 'Naruto' artwork for a face claim of 'Naruto') does not need artist permission; however, any fan-made artwork requires permission from the artist and proper credit. There is an Avatar Source box located in the profile field for this purpose. However...
• If you cannot find the artist for a piece of artwork you wish to use, we understand! Given the nature of the internet, artists can be lost due to re-posting and former theft. If this is the case, please do your best and inform staff you cannot find the artist. Example: if you really want to use a picture of Naruto as your face claim, but you cannot find the artist, it is fine to use the art as long as you are open to removing the artwork should the artist request it, or providing credit once the artist is found.
  
• Doll makers, Picrew, etc. are allowed as representations for your character. We also allow any artwork you commissioned/adoptables you purchased to be used as long as they match our current character guidelines.
• Please do not use someone else's OC as your character, unless you have explicit permission from the owner/creator of that OC. There are no exceptions to this rule.

iv. Account Image Sizes. Profile images are 200x200. Signature images are not allowed to be skin-breaking, but we have no firm sizes for these. Use your best judgement. Please do not use any heavily animated/flashing/moving images.
