He nodded simply. "Y-yeah." He said simply before awakwardly falling silent. Will had made his way up to Galla and sat up on his back half to look at the bird. Extended his head to peer at her closely before bonking her. And by bonk... it was the tiniest of boops. He sat in that position for a hot minute before just continuing on to go sit on Rebecca's foot.
Seb looked down and got a fond smile as he noticed what his new friend was doing. "Arceus, Will, you're active for a Wurmple who is supposed to be gathering energy to get ready to evolve." He said gently, but fondly.

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Galla had been booped? Galla had been booped! "Chiiic!" she said -- not a complaint, but an enthusiastic response. Very carefully, because he was a Wurmple and she had a sharp little beak, Galla poked Will back. When he sat on Rebecca's foot, Galla circled him, then sat down next to him, ready to guard both her friends. "What do you think he'll evolve into?" Rebecca said, looking at Will. She was a bit surprised to find him sitting on her foot, but that was a much more comfortable interaction than Everest climbing on her. "Silcoon or Cascoon? Do you know how they decide?"no one can stop me from spreading my wings

"I know in the past it was about a fifty-fifty chance that they evolve either way. If I remember correctly it's supposed to be based off of temperament, but I'm not entirely sure. I'd have to see multiple evolutions of such to really get a good grasp of them." He said, watching the Wurmple as it rested on Rebecca's shoe.
"If I had to guess, he'll end up as a Silcoon. He's much more aggressive than initially thought possible for a wurmple. However, as you can see now he can also be extremely relaxed and sweet, which is supposed to be more telling of an evolution into a Cascoon. I don't particularly mind which he does evolve into, but it will make for interesting research notes! Since bug types evolve quicker than most other types as a general whole it'll be a good show of how it works in full detail, since very few people have seen evolution thus far. In fact I don't think anyone has seen it yet." He smiled at his pokemon, who seemed oblivious to his trainer's joy at this fact. Seb was excited to see his first true evolution.

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Rebecca nodded through Sebastian's discussion of Will's potential evolutions. Wurmples might not be birds, but Beautifly was a Flying type, so she had some interest in it -- and besides, she was trying to remember her parents' etiquette rules and give the other person a chance to discuss what he wanted instead of solely talking about her own passions. The shift to evolution in general did genuinely catch her interest, though. She looked forward to evolving Galla. "No one in the region has observed evolution yet? Since Pokemon came back, I mean." Rebecca scratched her chin. While it seemed mad on the surface, the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. "Wow. Maybe you'll be the first!"After all, as Sebastian had said, Bug-type Pokemon grew very quickly. no one can stop me from spreading my wings

He nodded quietly. "At least, I haven't heard of anyone seeing a pokemon evolve. If anyone at the Lab has I'd have heard it, but someone else might have so far. But to my knowledge I'd be the first. Regardless, I think he just needs a bit more battle experience first before he can. Or to eat more. Lots more." He chuckled as the wurmple just kinda. Looked up at the female trainer.
"It's not the most exciting evolution in terms of power levels, but I'm looking forward to it. Are you looking forward to it too buddy?" He asked the wurmple.
"Wurm!" It wiggled its tiny legs before it testingly nibbled on the shoelace of the shoe it was sitting on.

❂ Rebecca Cardinal "I've never been to the Lab," Rebecca admitted. "I've heard they have all sorts of resources, though -- I get their bulletins on my phone. Maybe we'll check it out if we're ever in Mistveil."On the topic of evolution ... "It's incredible how Pokemon can just change forms like that, isn't it? I mean, humans don't do that, and I don't think plants do either, though I don't actually know that much about plants."Rebecca leaned down to look at Will more closely. "Hmm ... how will you be able to tell when he's close to evolving? Or will it happen without warning?"She, personally, would like to know when Galla was on the verge of evolving, just to prepare herself. Oh, she very much wanted Galla to evolve, but that didn't mean it wouldn't be a substantial adjustment -- she already knew she would miss her cute little Torchic even as she appreciated her growing Combusken. Maybe this was how parents felt? no one can stop me from spreading my wings

"The lab is pretty nice, I suggest going to talk to the professor." Sebby said, looking down at his pokemon. "But from what I know of wurmple, they generally move around less and prepare for their evolution. Due to the nature of the matter, they use their middle evolution as a time to rapidly gain energy, so their next evolution is more powerful." He explained.
"But most of the time it's in response to some sort of stimulus. Like getting enough battle experience, or some kind of reaction to a special item. Like Sneasel, they evolve only while they have a Razor claw for whatever reason. It's just the way it is. From what I know, Torchic should be a fairly standard evolution line, no special requirements or anything besides growing as a pokemon."
He smiled down at Galla. She was adorable and he was glad to have met her. Will looked right back up at Rebecca and wiggled a bit. This human seemed decent. he supposed.

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Rebecca nodded. "I know a bit about evolution -- I know it's usually in response to stimulus, and I know Torchic and Combusken have no special requirements. I didn't know Wurmple would stop moving around so much when it neared Silcoon or Cascoon time. Have you observed him slowing down?"She peered at Will again, trying to judge how mobile he was. He certainly seemed content to sit on her foot, but she didn't know if that was normal for him or represented a slow-down. But Sebastian had said he still needed to battle a lot more, hadn't he? "Are you going to look for battles so he can get stronger? I haven't decided how much I want to battle with Galla." While Rebecca knew that Galla would probably need the experience to evolve and reach her maximum potential, she wasn't sure about risking her safety ... But as long as they were friendly matches, it should be fine. "Chi chic!" Galla piped up. She liked battling, actually! no one can stop me from spreading my wings

"No, he's generally kinda active. I'll probably go looking for battles, but not for a little bit. Or until I get dragged into an adventure by a friend." He thought of Mya being Mya and mentally shook his head. "I suppose that's up to you two though whether you'd like to battle a lot. I know Everest likes battling, and Will there is pretty fiesty, but I'm not sure how much I'm going to indulge them to be quite honest." He said with a shrug.
"I guess we'll both have to see. I'd like them to get stronger so we can go places I've never been able to before. Like Gladegloom, or Mt.Veerie, or the desert."

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Rebecca nodded. "Galla seems to like battling too. Our first battle was actually her idea, not mine.""Chi," Galla agreed with satisfaction. She'd won that battle, too. Though it hadn't been that satisfying a win, considering that the opposing Pokemon didn't seem to know how to fight at all ... "I worry about her getting hurt," Rebecca continued. "And I just think ... Pokemon don't have to be good at battling. There are a lot of ways to grow, after all. But since Galla likes it, I'll probably look for some friendly matches."Actually, she could suggest a battle with Sebastian ... but his Pokemon seemed much stronger than Galla. Maybe it would be best not to. Instead she focused on Sebastian's next words. "Do you want to explore a lot? Looking for different Pokemon, or just in general?"Rebecca also planned to travel a good bit, but only where there were birds to observe. no one can stop me from spreading my wings

"I'd like to see as many pokemon as I can. I work for the lab, so I'm doing field research right now. But getting to see the region is a good bonus! I've already seen a few cool pokemon, but I'm looking forward to seeing more. Besides Will over here, I've seen a Seedot, the acorn pokemon. It was pretty friendly, they're generally peaceful though so that isn't surprising. It's later evolutions of their line that tend to be more aggressive, but since Seedot are prey pokemon they're usually peaceful anyways. I hope it's doing ok. besides that, I saw a Galar forme Farfetch'd, and I'll be honest I didn't stick around, but it was pretty cool, just a bit too strong for Everest, she wasn't ready to take on a Farfetch'd, and it was pretty aggressive which I'm not surprised at because it seemed like it wanted a duel but it didn't seem like the best idea at the time." He finally took a breath. "But I think a friend wanted us to go with her to the Maw, so I'm hoping to see some interesting pokemon!"
Seb had to pause for a much longer moment, not seeming to realize at first that he'd rambled without breath for so long, but he was smiling kindly and excitedly. He was looking forward to seeing a lot of new pokemon! In lots of new places!!

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Rebecca listened with interest, curious about the different Pokemon that were out there. And the Farfetch'd especially excited her! "Galarian Farfetch'd ... They're Fighting-type, whereas the more common Kantovian Farfetch'd is Normal and Flying. Apparently Galarian Farfetch'd only evolve after they've done really well in a single battle, no matter how strong they get -- no wonder they're aggressive, then. It's a pity you didn't catch it. I would have loved to see it."Rebecca would just have to get out there and encounter her own Galarian Farfetch'd -- alongside many other birds, she hoped. "I haven't really gone looking for new Pokemon yet," she added. "But I do want to. I want to find all the bird Pokemon there are out there ..."no one can stop me from spreading my wings

He nodded. "They can get pretty strong, and they grow pretty quickly too. Not nearly as slow as Everest or Galla. Torchic take a while to evolve, but when they do it can be well worth the wait. Did you get her from Professor Yew? Since you seem to be coming from Mistviel, b-but I don't wanna assume or anything!"
Oh goodness, he was blundering so much. he was such an awkward person already, and Everest had made it even moreso... but he was at least determined to... try... and not make it quite as... awkward.... and yeah no he was a nervous guy ok.

❂ Rebecca Cardinal Rebecca nodded as Sebastian spoke about evolutions, but then shook her head when he asked about Professor Yew. "No, my parents gave Galla to me when I was twelve. Our family used to breed Torchics, you know, before."She wasn't offended by the assumption or anything -- she knew that the Lab was giving out Pokemon, and Pokeballs weren't exactly common anywhere else, so it was reasonable to guess that a stranger with a Pokemon had gotten it from the Lab. In fact ... "Did you get your first Pokemon from the professor?" Rebecca asked. She wasn't sure which of Sebastian's Pokemon was his first, Everest or Will. no one can stop me from spreading my wings
