Professor Yew The professor nodded. "I'm not saying he won't like music or concerts. I would just take care to ease him into loud, exciting environments, to make sure he doesn't get overwhelmed."Yew smiled as Farrah picked up Decibel. "Yes, hikes and walks would be a good idea. And putting a treat in a toy -- that's good thinking. Sounds like you definitely have some ideas of where to take him, physically and metaphorically. If you need help training him, we have a Pokedex app out for trainers that includes a lot of information on Pokemon and their moves -- the receptionist downstairs can help you download it. And I'll give you my number, in case you need anything."how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

"Makes sense - a concert is a big change from a dive bar venue as it were," Farrah nodded. "You don't just jump right into the stadium. Gotta start at the bottom with everyone else."
The raccoon Pokemon's entire body wiggled immensely at the mention of treats and toys. Farrah's eyes widened, trying to hold onto him. It got increasingly difficult until eventually, when the professor mentioned the Pokedex app, the musician gave up and set him back down on the floor to run in excited zig-zags and circles. "Oh, you'll get em, you git." They rolled their eyes in quiet fondness before nodding to the Professor, retrieving their phone again to open it up. "That'd be a huge help, I appreciate it. I'll be sure to stop downstairs, too. Anythin' to be prepared to make this fella's life with me as good as he can get, yeah?"
A Pokedex app - that really was a good idea. All the research Farrah could need to dig into and learn, right at their fingertips on the go. Especially useful if -- "Nope! Don't you even, sir!" Farrah scooped Decibel up under the free arm not holding their phone, containing him like a sack of potatoes against their side. He'd been about to knock over the two chairs in the room. So, precisely -- especially useful if he were to get himself worked up into trouble or a little too excited... they'd be able to know what to do.

Professor Yew Another nod. "Yes, I'd start him off with small, quiet events and go from there.""If you'll let me ..." Smiling as she watched Decibel run around, the professor held out a hand for Farrah's phone. Assuming they handed it over, she'd put in her contact information and get the Pokedex app downloading. Hm, she really ought to have business cards she could just hand to trainers with that information -- she'd have to get them made after this. "Absolutely. I think you'll do a great job -- you clearly care about him, and that's what matters in the end."When Farrah grabbed Decibel, the professor had already put out her other hand to catch the chair. She laughed a little and added, "It sounds like he wants to get outside and burn off some energy -- you could use one of our arenas or training grounds if you need a place to let him run around. Are you ready to wrap up here? If there's anything else you need from me, just let me know."how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

Farrah nodded in appreciation as the Professor added her contact information to their phone. That was absolutely going to be useful. Between that, maybe going and doing some research, and hm... definitely picking up those supplies. "Yeah - it's strange. I know technically we've only just met, but I feel like I've known this lil' fella for years anyway, just because I know he's been there." Farrah wondered for a moment if feeling like that might be strange. Oh well.
If the Professor handed Farrah's phone back, they'd send a simple text to the new number with 'Farrah here' before sliding it into their pocket. "If I need any help, you'll be the first I contact - you'd know best, afterall. Lettin' him go for a round-about in the training grounds sounds like a good idea. Get the 'zoomies' outta him early so we can work constructively together through the day." Would give a good idea on how to train him too, maybe... a safe space for him to test out his capabilities. "That's it though, I'm thinkin'. Thanks for lettin us come in on such short notice - I appreciate it."

Professor Yew "Pokemon have a tendency to find their way to people's hearts very quickly," the professor said. "It doesn't surprise me that he already has a bond with you. And -- we genuinely don't know how much they perceive from inside their Pokeballs. He may have been listening to you this whole time."The professor handed Farrah back their phone. "Sounds like a good idea. And of course -- we're here to help trainers, in any way we can. If there's anything else you need, just let me know."The professor led Farrah -- and Decibel -- back out to reception and bade them farewell. Another trainer off on their Pokemon journey ... Professor Yew expected they'd meet again soon. | FINISHED | how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?
