Day || Clear Weather || No Battles || Trade Thread
MYA: Hey, Professor Yew, you know anyone willing to trade a pokemon? I have this eel thing and it keeps trying to electrocute me. I think it'd be happier with literally anyone else.
Mya blew a raspberry as she put the phone down. Bonding with Eelington did not go as planned. The little dude just seemed to despise her. It might be better if he had another trainer. After all, he didn't have a swarm to live with or anything and the pokedex said these guys didn't like to travel alone. At least finding someone better would be a better option.

Professor Yew The professor was in her office when she got Mya's text. Reading it furrowed her brow in concern -- she didn't want to see Mya get hurt, of course, and she knew that even small and seemingly weak Pokemon could be dangerous. If Mya's Pokemon was truly so hostile, it would certainly be best to find it a different trainer, one it wouldn't try to electrocute. YEW @ MYA: I think you're right to look to trade. Let me see who I can contact. What species of Pokemon is it, exactly?Hmm ... Yew could tell Mya to place a notice board ad, of course, but this sounded possibly more urgent than that. And there weren't that many trainers in the region to actually trade with yet. On the other hand, Yew knew of one person who had the resources to take care of even the orneriest Pokemon ... YEW @ TAKARA: Good morning, Takara. I'm talking to a trainer right now who's having trouble handling an Electric-type Pokemon and looking to trade it -- I was wondering if you might be interested. I know you have the resources and patience to handle a difficult Pokemon, after all.how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

Huh, that was interesting. Takara put down their cup of coffee and opened the messages. A board member cleared their throat in an annoyed way, but Takara just held up a finger and returned to reading and thinking of a reply. Beside him, Shri nibbled on a piece of toast and Zei was sampling the donuts. The board did not look too pleased with the addition to the caterpillar on Takara's team.
TAKARA: Sup!I sure do. I actually have a sweet little Caterpie that could use a new home, if I'm honest. Office life doesn't seem to be for him (he used string shot on a board member earlier and, while that is hilarious, might not put the little guy in a good light). What do you want me to do? Come down to the lab?
Takara put their phone down and looked back up at the board. "No, we won't be doing that, " they said in reference to what the board members was talking about previously. "Final answer. Next question."
Shri gave a little bit of a smile. That's her trainer.

Mya glanced at the pokeball sitting on the cafe table. Eon was also watching it. Her hands still hurt from the last time she tried to let the thing out. It would always take one look at her and decide it was time for Mya to go.
MYA: It's a tynamo, I think. Little floating worm looking guy. I caught him fishing in the swamp a while back and I thought we could get along but he hates me. I'll take anything for him, even a pet rock.
She looked over at Eon now. "We might be free of our violent worm friend, yet." She glanced down at Chai. The green pokemon was fast asleep at her feet. He was much more sweet.

Professor Yew The professor smiled as she read the messages from Mya and Takara. How perfect! Yew didn't believe in fate, not really, but she couldn't help but feel that some stars had aligned to cause Takara to be seeking a new home for a Pokemon at the same time as Mya. YEW @ TAKARA: Great. It's a Tynamo that Mya wants to trade -- the other trainer's name is Mya Saller. If that sounds good to you -- and assuming Mya wants a Caterpie; I'm just about to ask her, but I think she'll say yes -- you can just drop Caterpie by the Lab any time, and I'll make sure he gets to Mya, plus let you know when her Tynamo is here for you. Good luck cleaning off that board member! And then ... YEW @ MYA: My friend Takara is looking for a new home for their Caterpie, too. Takara Wilton. If you're willing to trade for Caterpie, just drop Tynamo by the Lab whenever you get a chance and I'll get him to Takara. Then I'll let you know when you can pick up Takara's Caterpie. As soon as I have the final go-ahead from Takara, I'll let you know.Should Yew mention that Takara was the CEO of Salve Co.? Nah. That didn't seem relevant. how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

Huh, a tynamo? Takara looked it up quickly and showed Shri a picture of what one would look like. After letting her study the pokemon's info, Shri gave a happy nod. Good. If it was fine with Shri, then it was fine with Takara. Once again ignoring the board members, Takara replied.
TAKARA: Sounds wonderful! I'll be ready to leave at any time. I look forward to the trade, assuming Mya agrees, of course.
Wonderful, so that was squared away for now. If it came time to an actual trade, it would cause no problem to leave the meeting for a short bit to take care of business. Surely the board would be happy Takara was trading the caterpie, right?

A caterpie, huh? Wonder what that was. Mya went to the pokedex app and, with a quick search, shrugged. Yeah, sure, looked harmless enough. Wasn't an electric type that was trying to murder her.
MYA: Yeah, that'll work just fine. I can be at the lab in like, 10 minutes. At a nearby cafe. Tell this Takara-person I appreciate the trade. I hope Eelington doesn't cause too much trouble.
Mya picked up Chai, getting a soft grumble of protest before the grass type snuggled as close to her for warmth as possible. Eon looked up at Mya as she picked the pokeball up off the table. "Let's go, pal. We're getting a caterpillar, I think." Eon nodded and jumped down from his chair, following Mya out of the cafe and towards the lab.

Professor Yew Good, so that had worked out. Nodding in satisfaction, Yew sent out her final messages to give Takara and Mya the go-ahead for the trade: YEW @ TAKARA: Yes, Mya is in, so whenever you want to drop Caterpie off sounds good. Mya says she'll be here with Tynamo in about 10 minutes.YEW @ MYA: Takara has agreed! Any time sounds good. I'll let the front desk know to expect you. And that should be it! Now if only all of Yew's problems could be solved so easily, she thought, turning her attention back to the logistical issues she'd previously been working on. ||FINISHED|| how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?
