At the sight of Decibel moving to battle, Eon got up and began to make his way over, as if to become a shield for the young and inexperienced Atlas. Mya held out a hand. "No, no, this won't take long, Eon. Let Atlas learn what a strong opponent feels like." The older dragon gave Mya a look of concern. Perhaps it was just because Atlas was so.... young and inexperienced at most things. Decibel had far more power under his belt, but if Mya was sure.The shelgon looked across the battlefield at Decibel, narrowing his eyes and giving a deep rumble in his shell before backing up and laying back down. If there was any permanent damage then... well, Eon closed his eyes and held faith in Mya's decision. He had to keep control over his new temper. He was the oldest one of Mya's team and he had to act like it. She would expect nothing less from him. Atlas didn't seem nearly as worried. Even that glare from the fuzzy pokemon had him shivering a bit, but he began to pump himself up while puffing out some flames, waiting for an order. Mya considered the battlefield. Winning was... well, it was a very shallow hope, so she'd focus on something else. Practice.
"Let's work on your aim, Atlas. Ember!" The charmander darted forward and took in a deep breath as he did so, letting out as puffs of flame. Cute, Mya thought. He had no idea what was going to happen soon. Oh well, he'd have to learn, and Decibel was the best way. At least he wasn't a wild pokemon bent on causing serious harm, but he would teach the charmander a lesson about being overly confident.

Decibel looked entirely unimpressed by Eon’s threats. The scarred raccoon-dog simply turned his leer from Arris to a stare at the Shelgon as he tried to get involved, and continued to simply watch as Mya stopped him. Casually he met the narrowed eyes of the other Pokemon, and held the eye contact until Eon lay back down. He didn’t seem to react at all to the growl either, only turning his gaze back towards the Charmander, ready and waiting.
Farrah’s eyes softened slightly, watching her partner’s reaction. He’d grown a lot since they’d met - a few months ago, he might have gone fully aggressive straight for the Shelgon for any sign of combativeness. He’d mellowed a good bit. But that also meant some of his high energy cheerfulness had also fallen to the wayside. “I apologize,” Farrah said. “I’m unsure why he’s so determined. Usually he doesn’t mind sitting out… but I suppose he’s been doing an awful lot of it today.”
Farrah nodded at the mention of aim, and clicked her tongue. Decibel’s ear twitched to show he was listening. “Hold steady. You’ll pull through; let it be a teaching experience, Dec.” With a little huff, he grounded himself.
The flames cracked right into his shoulder and neck, leaving a bit of black fur looking slightly more sooty. The Zigzagoon made a grunting noise at the hit, rocked slightly to the side. He nodded at the Charmander approvingly. “Zizag.” It wasn’t a bad hit at all!
Farrah nodded a couple moments after. “Alright. Decibel, tackle.”
The Zigzagoon stayed still for a moment, calculating, before suddenly lunging forward with surprising speed and crashing into Arris’ side. It was a solid hit, and after the connection was made, he fell back to position waiting for the next move.
OOC: Charmander used Ember and did 3 damage. Zigzagoon has 10/13 HP!
Zigzagoon used Tackle! It does 3 damage; Charmander has 5/8 HP!

She shrugged and smiled. "Aw, don't worry about it! It'll be good for Atlas. He trains against Eon a lot but... you know, Eon doesn't like fighting back against the kiddo. Atlas needs to learn what battles feel like."
Mya nodded as Decibel stayed still for the hit. Honorable. And good for Atlas but... "Atlas! Wipe that grin off your face!" She called, the charmander looking back at her and forgetting Decibel's praise. "Pay attention. Decibel has a lot of experience. Learn from it." The charmander seemed confused and turned to seemingly ask Mya what she meant, but the tackle at his back sent him face planting into the ground. He took a moment before getting up. "Chaaarrr..." oh. That's what she meant. He got himself up and wiped the dirt off of his face, turning back around. His face hurt, but he wasn't down yet! "Try another Ember, this time while moving around Decibel!" Atlas hesitated. Moving while aiming going straight was easy. Moving around an opponent while aiming was... not. He darted forward and began his arc around the zigzagoon, letting loose an explosion of tiny flames.
Mya took the chance to glance at Eon, unable to tell his expression from her position. Wormy was expressive. Often, he'd react to Járnsaxa being around and to Vulcan's attitude. The dratini was easy to read. Easy to understand. Easy to handle. Atlas was confident and bubbly. He had little experience in battles, but he could learn. His positivity was radiant. Járnsaxa was gentle and sweet, but was becoming more brash. It was concerning, but... Mya took her eyes off of Eon and back to the battle. She had read that when shelgon evolve, they do so in an explosion. It was like standing next to a ticking time bomb. Mya was no afraid of Eon. No. She never could be. But she saw something changing in her partner. This... attitude that was growing. A temper with a short fuse. She wondered when the time would come when she couldn't keep putting it out. What then? Glancing at Atlas, she knew the answer. The rest of her team had to get strong, to show Eon he wasn't the only one with power in their little family.

"Fair enough," Farrah shrugs a single shoulder before turning her eyes back to the battle. "Decibel can certainly understand that. His first few spars with Mosh..." It was no wonder the two barely tolerate one another. Mosh could wipe the floor with Decibel early on. He's caught up now, but... the Zigzagoon could sure hold a grudge.
"Keep moving this time, Dec," she clicks her tongue at her partner, "Don't go full zip on the poor kid, but make him have to look and aim." As the Charmander starts forward, Decibel shakes the soot off of his fur before jumping forward. As he moves about, a few of the flames lick against his hide - this time the burn feels like it's lingering, and he gruffs, leaping aside to try to shake it off, before darting forward for another tackle! "Zigoon!"
It's another fair hit - a little faster than the last, if only because Decibel has to weave through flames to get to Atlas first. Once he returns to ready position, he reaches over to pat some embers out on the ground with a paw, nodding and taking off at a trot circling the arena, consistently moving. The burning ache in his side makes him wince.
Farrah nods herself, brows lowering approvingly. She's glad that this is the last match of her day - both for it being a friend, but also because she recognizes that Decibel will be taking a trip to the Pokemon Center afterwards, probably. "Good job, keep ready, and stay moving."

The joy from hitting Decibel was soured with the firm tackle. But Mya saw something after Atlas took the hit. His tail seemed to burn a bit brighter, like he wasn't ready to just get up and quit. Nope, if this battle was going to end it was going to end with one of them fainted. Atlas readied himself, giving a growl and narrowing his eyes, watching as Decibel trotted. A burn! Good. Maybe there was hope left!Atlas wasn't yet experienced enough to realize the window for success widened just a bit but it was still a window far too small to pass through without luck. Like a numel through the eye of a needle. But even a window was enough to charge for it. Never knew what would happen, right? Mya considered this briefly. "Atlas! Use Ember again! Give it everything you got!" This might be it, but she'd show Atlas it wasn't over until the chatot sings. The charmander charged forward, moving his little legs quickly, leaving a small trail of light from behind him, readying another ember. Mya had read up on Atlas' species. Charmander evolved into charmeleon, which was harder to handle given a developing attitude (seemed that was a theme with Mya's team, eh?), and charmeleon evolved into charizard. Not quite a dragon, but a massive fire-breathing lizard that could fly. Extremely weak to rocks, but immune to ground and burns. She wondered how Atlas would change... would he be more aggressive like Eon? Or would be become something else? It was worrying but... she'd just have to wait. Mya wasn't afraid of change.
