Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds
Takara will use They/Them and He/Him pronouns this thread Alright, so, they were nervous. Sue 'em! It hadn't been like they had an actual date in a while. Usually these things involved fancy dinners with rare food that was in storage that costs a thousand dollars per plate. Takara had to hand it to some of their assistants, they really did try to help with a love life, but it was always with "board approved" people. Takara hated it, always thinking they were going to an important business meeting only to find that, nope, it's with some rich spoiled brat from some well-off family wanting their kid to score big with Takara.
And even then anyone Takara had an actual interest in usually ended up becoming a one night stand. Letting anyone know about their job or position often lead to a change in personality and wanting and expecting fancy things. It was exhausting. But Farrah never really asked, they never pressed. It was refreshing and they were so smart and sweet and down to earth and- Takara looked down at Shri. She had lightly punched his leg. She knew how he was feeling and wanted to help ease him, but ugh, the gushy feelings were killing her. It was like watching a bad Lifetime film. "Sorry," Takara said to her, looking back to his phone. He had texted Farrah the meet up location, outside of a building Salve Co. had marked off for construction, but it was unmarked with no indication of who it belonged to. Takara, however, had the key and they had spent a good part of the day setting up the roof for tonight. It was supposed to be clear with a beautiful view of the night sky, and while Sylvanport did have some light pollution, this area was darker than other parts. Takara also had another trick up their sleeve. This whole block had been abandoned for a few years so while it was a little sketch, it would be perfect for their plan. Takara has some powerful strings they could pull and damn it, didn't they pull them for tonight!

“What do you think? Too slutty?”
Farrah showed the outfit off to the gaggle of Pokemon sitting around them in their apartment as they got ready for the evening. The fishnet mesh left a lot showing, and the croptop wasn’t exactly the most covering clothing either. It looked nice, but was it okay for a date…? Mosh sneezed. Farrah looked at him. The snake appeared to have a look of condescension, judging his trainer for her choices. “Well. That’s rude.”
The Seviper seemed to shrug, but it was Andante to the rescue, handing Farrah one of their darker less translucent scarves. “Oh, brilliant, thank you! Can cover up… this, but can also be used as a belt if it gets too warm. See, that was much more helpful.” Mosh left the room. Farrah stuck her tongue out after him, blowing a raspberry.
Makeup was light, flashiness was… minimal. Okay! They were good to go.
Farrah followed along the directions carefully on their phone, only half paying attention and relying on Decibel to make sure they didn’t run into anything. He was gussied up too: fur tamed nice and sleek, and a little studded collar loosely around his neck. They were nervous! And excited. Nervous and excited. The jitters like this hadn’t gotten to Farrah since they’d landed their first big gig years ago.
Most rendezvous and meetups were just hookups; meaningless passionate one night stands that always left Farrah a little more empty for it in the end, longing for something different. Everyone wanted a bite of the rockstar life - a bite of Strum. They wanted the rock n' roll life. The famed fables of the drugs and booze and late night parties getting fucked up in raunchy orgies with the groupies. They were always disappointed in who Strum really was - in getting to know Farrah. Farrah who hadn't touched a drug in their life, who only drank socially with the crew and friends, who preferred a night in binging the extremely cheesy terrible Christmas romance movies that played year-round on that one channel rather than debauched party revelry. But Takara didn’t seem to care about any of that. They had intellectual conversation, and riveting ideas and stories and didn't give a hoot that Farrah was a famous and yet ultimately boring musician. It was as exciting as it was nerve wracking. What if they were disappointed in her too?
Looking up, Farrah hummed as they glanced back to their phone one more time. “I think that’s the buildin’, Dec… lets see if we see Takara around hm- oi! Wait up you git!” Decibel had seemed to sense out Takara’s presence first with his developed nose, and begin sauntering on ahead of Farrah. Farrah adjusted their scarf over their chest to try to appear a bit more modest, watching Decibel sniff away on the war path. Hindered a bit by the heels on her sandals, she sighed as she tried to catch up to wherever it was near the building Decibel seemed to be heading.
They shot over a quick text to Takara as they followed: [Hey! Just arrived. Might see Decibel before you see me; he just took off like a homing missile headed inbound your direction, .]

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri adjusted her little scarf that she had gotten earlier that day. It was a nice soft red satin and just long enough for her. It was comfortable and looked nice, but her fur was too short to really make look all fancy and nice. But she was cleaned up by some professional groomer that came by the office. Takara had spent some time there making sure his plans would be possible for tonight, making sure he filed for everything that needed to be done and that it wouldn't disrupt anyone. He looked up when Shri gave a small call in greeting and saw the black and white raccoon rushing over. "Hey, Dec!" he said, looking down as his phone buzzed. Ah! So that cleared it up. Takara texted back. [Dec just arrived, by the street light!!!] Takara shoved their phone in their pocket and sighed, trying to expel some of the anxiety. This was going to be fine! They had carefully planned this whole night it was going to be good! But still.... Shri said hello to Decibel, commenting on how handsome he looked all done up and fancy. She liked his collar as well. It was so good to see him again, she had missed his fun and relaxed attitude.
When he finally saw Farrah, he felt as if his heart was going to burst, it was beating so fast. He took in another breath and smile, moving to meet up with Farrah half-way. "Hey, uh," they were at a loss of words, just looking at how Farrah was dressed. They were gorgeous! "You look amazing," they managed out, a definite blush on their cheeks. It wasn't all from seeing Farrah and taking in the outfit, some of it was embarrassment. Was Takara over dressed? Under dressed? They just grabbed some of their pants with holes in em and their favorite stripped shirt and a larger plaid shirt to throw over it. And some of their favorite heeled boots. It didn't seem to do much in the face of Farrah's carefully curated outfit. Takara hoped they wouldn't be judged so hard on clothes. They had debated on a proper suit for the night but, no, they wanted to try and be real with Farrah. That was important. Shri sighed as she felt Takara's nervousness and excused herself from Decibel as she walked over, tugging on Takara's pants and looking up at him. "Oh, right!! It's over here, the place I set up for tonight," Takara said, taking a key out of their pocket and walking over to the building. "This whole street was bought by work for a project. I was able to get a hold of a key to this building. Took some careful wording but, ya know, so... yeah. It's up on the roof." Takara held the door open for Farrah and Decibel, before closing and locking it and walking up the stairs. "Sorry about the stairs, uh, the elevator shaft has no elevator."
Once they got to the top floor, Takara opened the door to the roof to reveal the surprise. There were some paper lanterns lit from the building's power source around the area, showing off a soft stack of blankets to make the ground a bit more comfortable to sit on. There were even two small pillows for support and a nicely sized picnic basket. The smell of fresh cooked food was filling the air. Eelington was floating around on patrol, making sure to keep wild pokemon away from the smell of the food. The moment he saw Takara, he got his treat--a baked berry good--and was returned to his pokeball. There was even a stereo to play soft instrumental music for background noise, but best of all: there was a perfect and clear view of the night sky. Takara almost couldn't wait for the later surprise. "But, um... I hope you like it? There's quite a bit of food for all our pokemon, too." He moved further into the area and offered a hand to help Farrah down onto the blanket. Oh man was this date idea stupid? Was it cringy? Takara was freaking out internally, but was managing to keep a suave and attractive exterior. Shri just rolled her eyes and mentioned Takara's emotions to the zigzagoon. He could hide how he felt on the outside, but he couldn't hide anything from her.

Decibel let out a pleased little sniff as he turned a circle around Takara's legs in greeting. He nearly came up to the tall person's knees now, not quite doubled in size. And then the Zigzagoon's attention was on Shri and his floppy ears perked up. Oh, she looked so lovely with her scarf as well! The color was a beautiful contrast. And he'd missed her too - especially if his cheerfully wagging tail was anything to go by - it was so nice to see Shri!
"Hey yourself," Farrah smiled warmly as she approached Takara. Their eyelids fluttered at the compliment, gazing to the side as their cheeks warmed in a blush of their own. "O-oh! Thank you, I..." They turned their look back, looking Takara up and down for a long moment, just taking them in. Their blush darkened. "You look incredibly dashing yourself," they said. There were a lot of words Farrah would use to describe their datemate - oh gods this was it they were on a date! - in reality. Stunning. Gorgeous. Hot. Charming. Magnificent. Irresistible perhaps, even. Most of which couldn't be said out loud, but Farrah let their approving gaze do the speaking instead. They felt underdressed all of a sudden, and thankful for the scarf. Takara was just so pretty.
They hummed curiously as they followed Takara over to the building, Decibel following along on her heels. The entire street? That was... a lot of pull for a company. Could be construction, could be anything though really. Farrah imagined being able to do this took a lot of careful wording indeed... it was very heartwarming. "I can appreciate the hard work," she murmured. She winked as they began heading up the stairs together. "No complaints! I generally take the stairs when I can in my apartment building." Once in a while they also accidentally set off the fire alarm with the doors, which was as embarrassing as it was irritating - but they didn't need to share that.
"Oh, wow - Takara..." Farrah was absolutely taken by the beautiful scenery around them. The warm lanterns, the picnic, the sweet music and the absolutely wonderful darkened sky. It was almost like a fairytale picnic. Farrah hadn't gone on an outing like that since they were just a little girl, but this was more wonderful in every conceivable way. They rested their cool fingers in Takara's hand, accepting the assistance to the blanket, her eyes absolutely shining as she met their gaze. "This is absolutely wonderful. Really." Their heart felt genuinely so light and they felt their cheeks warm again. "But it's even more lovely to see you again."
Decibel huffed in amusement as he glanced to Shri. They hid that anxiety well. He also snickered in thought, thinking on how while now Farrah looked completely smitten, it had been an entirely different story earlier. He relayed this over to Shri; how Farrah had spent hours almost giddy with anxious energy, putting them all up as a panel for outfits just determined to try to impress Takara but not be over the top. It was so silly.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri commented on how big Dec had gotten. She was honestly surprised! She hadn't... grown too much. She was staring to feel a bit different, though, but it was hard to explain, even to herself. She was staring to see auras more clearly and seeming to have a bit more mastery over using them. Although nothing solid yet. She did chuckle at Dec's words though. She could only imagine the anxiety Farrah was feeling. If it was anything like Takara's, they were a pretty matched pair. She mentioned that she knew Dec's pain with the outfit choice. Takara went back and forth for an hour over wearing what they had on or one of their nice business suits.
Either way, she walked towards part of the blanket set beside the the pokemon. She motioned for Dec to follow her, might as well make themselves comfortable! Takara smiled and gripped Farrah's hand gently and sat down after them. "It's good to see you again too... oh! Uh, the food." They reached for the basket and opened it, taking out the dishes. All fresh ingredients, all freshly made by Takara except one item. "I remember you said you like spicy things, so I did some research into old dishes and made some. These are made with genuine peppers, rice, eggs, vegetables and stuff like that from 80 years ago." It was... not easy getting a hold of the ingredients but Takara had their ways. "This one is spicy red curry stir-fry.... this one is a deviled egg with a spiced center. Some spicy potatoes and onions, and uh, this." They reached in and took out the last item. It was in a large carrier, moisture on the inside hiding it.
Takara clicked the latches on the side of the cake carrier and lifted up the top. "A strawberry cake with actual strawberries. I was able to find someone that still grew them as a family hobby." Takara had paid them nearly an arm and a leg for the fresh berries, then managed to find a miltank farmer for the milk and finally, a baker. "I can't bake, but I know someone who does so..."
They smiled at Farrah, hoping it wasn't too much. "Everyone was, you know... paid fairly for the ingredients but..."
Oh!! Right. "And this, I managed to get from the office." They pulled out a bottle of wine, along with some actual bottles of water. Apparently, the board liked to keep expensive wine around for business meetings. Takara helped themselves to the cabinet. "They just use it to wow potential clients and all. It's a real waste. I think this stuff should be shared with people you like." One day there would be more. Takara was looking into it. "Plus, I have some nicely made berry goods for all our pokemon!"
Most of this stuff cost.... a lot but it would be worth it. They just wanted to see Farrah smile and to have fond memories of tonight, that was all. They cleared their throat a bit, suddenly nervous again. There were plates and forks and napkins and glasses and plenty of water and... everything was fine and set up. But that still didn't stop the anxiety about Takara's cooking skills. "So, what have you been up to? Since I last saw you, of course." It was a genuine question. They wanted to know. They also just wanted to hear Farrah talk.

Decibel puffed his chest out in pride at the compliment to his appearance. Thank you! He appreciated that. It certainly felt like he was getting stronger and faster every day; though it made curling up in Farrah's lap a bit more difficult... trade-offs, he supposed. Ah well. He trotted over and curled up in a sleek black and white crescent next to Shri nearer to the edge of the blanket, offering a content expression. Ohhh yes, his trainer was a mess, he snickered. But it was nice to see them care for someone, instead of everything they'd done for years in the past to self sabotage.
Farrah fell silent in amazement at the different dishes laid out. They... weren't sure how Takara was able to get ahold of some of these things. Especially the eggs. Their eyes crinkled in fondness at the deviled eggs. They reminded Farrah of her childhood; evenings and early mornings spent hiding out in the kitchen with the family's kindly older chef, hours spent perfecting skillet flips, bread kneading, icing piping and making buttercream roses. But what reminded her of that more than anything was the last thing that Takara pulled out - that beautiful strawberry cake. "I didn't even know folks could grow em anymore," they said softly. This really did feel like every good memory they'd had of being in their family home rolled up into one wonderful person offering something that must have cost much more than the musician felt they were worth. "This is... this is so amazing, Takara. It really is - I look forward to enjoying it with you. You're just amazing." They leaned against Takara's shoulder, nudging them gently with a fond smile. Their own statement brought a spot of fluster to their cheeks but they pushed it down. Afterall, it was just a true statement.
Their eyebrows raised at the wine, both impressed and amused. "Yeah, that tracks. And you're right." The rich used it to showboat to the other rich. That was unfortunately just exactly how businesses worked. But to spend it between two people looking to enjoy one another's company on a very, very beautiful night... Farrah's anxiety melted away into something warm simmering like a little ember in their chest. Takara was such a wonderfully thoughtful person. Meanwhile across the blanket, Decibel's head perked up. Berry made goods, huh? Takara sure knew what was up in life, didn't they? The Zigzagoon appreciated that.
"You know two people who can bake then," Farrah winked. "I've been known to experiment in the kitchen, you could say." She chuckled, before leaning to pick up one of the deviled eggs, gently offering it to Takara if they wanted it. She'd pick up one of the plates in just a moment. She just... wanted to take it all in first. Commit this to memory. "What've I been up to? I think... I think I've begun traveling more since I've met Decibel than I've traveled my entire career. It's kind of nice. You get to meet a lot of new people and see a lot of new experiences that way... and meet new Pokemon partners, too." She gestured to her hip, where some new Pokeballs sat shined hanging from one of their belt loops. "Couple new gigs might be comin' up. One's local, and then it's all the way out to Aspermont for a week for a little historical event they're putting on. Think it's gonna be some fun."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Ah, yes, that was right. Shri got up when Decibel perked up about the berry goods and retrieved them to bring them over. There was.... a lot, for any pokemon that would be joining them. There were all sorts of good. A sort of berry soup, a berry pastry, a berry tart, a berry sandwich, all sorts of things. She offered any of it to Decibel with a smile.Takara happily accepted Farrah leaning into their shoulder, giving a small smile and taking the deviled egg. "I'm... really happy you like it." It was not easy finding any of the ingredients. Much less convincing people to let them go so easily, but Takara had some major pull in several ways. Money did a lot, but so did personal funding from Salve Co. to help small businesses. The board wouldn't be happy but, eh, fuck em. The took a bite of the egg before reaching for the wine and popping the cork off and pouring two glasses. "I.... may have gone overboard but... I think you're worth it." It was true, plus Takara was desperate for approval and to make this night special. Did they work too hard? Maybe. Did they care? No. They chuckled as they washed down the spicy egg with a bit of wine. "Well.... maybe you can show me how you bake sometime?" They were just enamored entirely, watching Farrah, listening to them. Takara could sit here for ages and just listen. But, they perked up the the mention of shows and pokemon. "Oh! I would love to meet your new pokemon! I uh, actually, caught a few more too. One of them is back home. He's really shy The other one I brought and uh... she reminded me of you, actually." Oh Arceus, was that cheesy? Should they have said that? Takara cleared their throat. "But, uh, I'd love to see one of those shows, if you don't mind me watching?" Shri gave a frown when Takara mentioned the fox in passing. Ugh, no, now tonight. She did not have the energy to put up with Loki. But aw well, whatever happens happens.

Decibel sat up as Shri brought the goods over, his fuzzy brows raised in curiosity. Oh, wow. It all smelled so good! He gestured to them with a paw. Ladies first? It was only the polite thing to do, afterall. And Decibel didn't mind in the slightest, if the fond little smile on the Zigzagoon was any indication of how he felt about it.
"I'm glad that makes you happy," Farrah murmured warmly. Farrah could only begin to imagine the trouble Takara had gone through to find half of this - and then the labor and the time and energy and cost atop that... for someone like Farrah's family that might have been a relatively uncomplicated thing. But for Takara who worked in an office, it was extremely sweet, and thoughtful, and it just... it was almost scary how impressive it was, really. Farrah blushed, fluttering her lashes as she averted her gaze and accepting the glass of wine. "Maybe," she said, "But I appreciate it very much all the same."
They took a slow sip of the wine, making a little noise in the back of their throat in appreciation of the taste, before smiling back at Takara. "I'd love to bake with you sometime. That would be really fun." She nodded upon being asked about their new Pokemon, before blushing faintly at the mention of one of them reminding Takara of her. "O-oh, really? That's really sweet." Farrah rubbed the back of her neck with a smile. "One of the ones I caught I actually thought of you too. We were talking about the old fossils maybe out in the desert, right?" Farrah's smile turned a bit mischievous as they reached over for a spicy egg as well, taking a careful bite. Oh! Oh, wow, that was amazing. Farrah hadn't eaten something like this in years. They inhaled happily, swallowing before continuing. "That's absolutely delicious, oh my gosh... but! This fellow I found was out on one of the eastern routes. The Pokedex says they're old. Like... ancient civilization old. But, ah," Farrah brushed herself off with a little smile. They set the glass down next to them to pull the two ultra balls on their belt into their hand, running their fingertips over them. "I'd really love to see you at the one up in Aspermont. With the event it could be a lovely time."
Decibel tilted his head at Shri. Oh, that wasn't a pleased look. Was there something wrong with one of the Pokemon that Takara had mentioned? It certainly didn't seem the most... friendly or eager of reactions... was the teammate troublesome? Decibel's companions had all been good thus far. ...Except that damn Seviper. Aggressive jerk didn't seem to get that Dec was the head of this household.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri chuckled and picked up one of the berries, eating it carefully. Ah! It was really good! Takara had worked really hard to impress everyone here, didn't he? She could feel his pride or.... more accurately, read it. But there was still that bit of nervousness that they would do something embarrassing or wrong. She wished he'd just relax.Takara smiled at the thought of baking with Farrah. They were.... horrible at baking themselves. Takara could build a building in a week but they struggled to measure out ingredients just right and bake it for so long. It seemed following instructions exactly right was not enough for them. They missed that special baking touch. "Oh?" they asked. How funny that they both found pokemon that reminded them of the other. That was... heartwarming, actually. They listened intently, smiling when Farrah began to explain. It was so nice to listen to their voice, to that accent. They almost missed the compliment on their cooking! "Oh, wow, ancient civilizations? I wonder then... how that works with the rapture and all. Did all the old pokemon that vanish come back as if nothing happened?" Takara shook their head and smiled. "But, yes! I'd love to be there. Just give me the day and time." Takara would make sure they could leave the office. Maybe leaving Eelington behind to ensure there were no meetings.
They smiled as they took out an ultraball. "Well, I'd love to meet your new pokemon if you'd like to meet one of mine. Sorry again, about the other one. Orion is... very, very shy. I took him to the office and he burst into tears when someone talked to him. Clung to me the whole time, but I'll try and get a picture. He's really cute." Poor Orion. It seemed he had bonded to Takara pretty damn fast, it was shocking. Oh well, he'd have to get used to them one way or another. Shri sighed deeply and began to explain to Decibel. It wasn't that she... disliked Loki, one of Takara's newest captures. It was just the fact that Loki was... a trickster. Which would be fine, but she had set off the sprinkler system four times in the last two days and set off the fire alarm in Takara's apartment. It was difficult to try and get her to behave, she was a little ball of mischief. Not that she ever caused real damage or harm, but.... ok, well, Salve Co.'s computer systems almost failed cause of the sprinklers but Takara was already working on getting water proof equipment. It was just... stressful.

Decibel picked up one of the little tarts after Shri had taken her choice, sitting up to take a careful nibble of it. Immediately his ears perked up and his eyes widened. Oh, wow! This was fantastic! His biggest compliments to Takara. They should really take pride in this, Dec agreed. The work they had put in had been absolutely worth it, no doubt at all.
Farrah looked forward to getting to bake with Takara, perhaps. It was one of their favorite pass-times. Nothing was more de-stressing than getting to put down all your worries and get lost in ratios, measurements, and the comforting warmth between ingredients and the oven. But ah! Anyway. Farrah nodded with a warm expression as they picked up one of the plates, taking a bit from each container to sample and nibble on - save for the cake which would be savored last, of course. They nodded at Takara with a grin as they took another bite of an egg. Gods, so good... "Exactly. That mindset was what made me think of you immediately. Are these the same old Pokemon? Were they recreated with false memories? Or..." she gestured lightly, "Did Pokemon like this ever vanish at all, save for reanimating the shells they left behind?"
Farrah blushed once they realized they were rambling again. "I'll be sure to send the exact details of the show for you once I get them myself in the next day or two." They eyed the ultraball before smiling up at Takara. Farrah covered their mouth with a hand as they made a noise that was somewhere between a coo and a noise of sympathy. "Aww.. poor sweetheart. He sounds like a real darling. I'd love to see a photo - please send the sweetheart my love. And of course - I would love to meet your other Pokemon!"
Taking the prompt as a queue to release their own Pokemon, Farrah set down their plate for a moment and picked their own two balls back up. Enlarging both, Farrah tapped the capture, bringing both of their other Pokemon into existence a couple feet away. The first one to form was Elegy, who shook his whole body off with a little grumble as he materialized, before sitting down and scratching his ear with a back paw. The second was the one Farrah had spoken of earlier - a fairly large golem of pale blue and gold coloration with an almost mournful look carved into their features. "The houndour," Farrah gestured towards the dog, "Is Elegy. And this is the fella I was talking about - Andante." Farrah gestured gently towards where Shri and Decibel were sitting. "Feel free to join them, you two. There's dinner for all of you. I do have a couple others..." Farrah shrugged and picked up their wine glass for a sip. They offered a shrug, afterwards. "But they didn't seem keen on going out tonight. Certainly a story how I met them, though."
Decibel made a long low little grumbling noise as he listened, nodding his head in understanding. He... actually thought that the mischief that Shri was describing sounded like quite a bit of amusing fun, though he didn't word this. Maybe the pranks were an attempt to keep Takara and Shri from getting too lost in their work? Decibel remembered what he'd said last they meant. Taking pride and working hard was all and good - but if you burnt out from never not working or relaxing, you'd never get anything done, and crash entirely. He tilted his head up and huffed at the other two Pokemon gently in greeting. Elegy stuck his tongue out for a moment, panting as his little tail wiggled, before padding over to the two older Pokemon, sitting across from them. Hello! Nice to meet the Riolu. His name was Elegy and he was the best boy. Decibel rolled his eyes good-naturedly. The Golett seemed more subdued, instead offering a very polite bow to Farrah and Takara, waving at their trainer's companion. They joined the other Pokemon, but stayed a bit back where they could simply stand and watch - and look up at the stars with a soft noise coming from their chassis.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara listened intently while getting their own plate, actually fairly hungry. Had they eaten much that day? Shri had brought them a panini at some point and then they had a cup of coffee and some water and... yeah no, that was it. Takara had just been so confused on getting everything set up they pretty much forgot to actually eat. They took a bite from some of their hard work. Wow, it did taste pretty good, Takara was proud of themselves, but the important thing was if Farrah approved."I mean, that's a very valid question. But, I'm happy to hear that, if their shells did get refilled, they are back and moving around with us!" It was so nice to hear something like that made Farrah think of Takara. It brought a light blush to their cheeks. "And yes, please! I'll be sure I take off work right away to go." A picture, hmm... "Yeah, I can do that! I'm going to be taking him to the office at some point in the next few days so that'll probably be a good chance to do so." Orion never actually showed fear from Takara's phone so it would probably be easy to snap a photo of the little guy. When Farrah's two new pokemon were released, Takara couldn't help but smile. "Aw! What a cute little puppy! Hi, Elegy," they said with pure fondness. What a cute little pupper! And the golem! "Wow, they are incredible! They're fantastic. Hello, Andante. Pleasure to meet you." Takara did hum at the mention of pokemon not being keen on leaving. "I feel that, some of mine were very adamant in not coming along, like little Orion, but! I'd love to hear those stories." Takara got the ultraball and tapped the button, releasing Loki. Or, it didn't look like Loki. A perfect imitation of Shri stood there, just without the scarf. The dog gave a little snicker before eyeing the houndour and changing to look like him, giving a playful bark followed by another snicker. "This is Loki," Takara said, "Loki, be polite and properly introduce yourself, please." The zorua did as told and returned to her regular fox form, giving another snicker. Her little tuft of fur on top of her head was still brushed down over one eye. Her preferred style. "She can apparently cast illusions, even on herself to take the form of anyone or anything she has seen. When I found her, she was making it sound like the forest was really alive. It was quite amazing." Takara nodded towards the gathering of pokemon. Loki took note and sauntered over, sticking her tongue out at Shri before sitting down and instantly chomping down one of the tarts. Shri's eyebrow twitched at the sight of Loki already playing some pranks--as harmless as they were. She instead focused on the new comers, smiling at Elegy and agreeing that he must be a good boy! She gave a polite nod to Andante and offered them a place to sit and to get comfortable. There was plenty of room for all! When she noticed Andante looking at the stars, she looked up too, and made a point to mention that a little later, Takara would unveil a big surprise he had for Farrah. It's be even better to stargaze then.

Farrah took a delicate bite of the curry as they listened to Takara's thoughts about Andante's existence and the possible implications of such. Not much longer after, their eyes widened in surprise and they took another bite. The heat and the way it melted across their palette, mild but hot but also full of flavor cutting the burn out... she nearly moaned in appreciation for the good food - but bit it back to a rather pleased little whine, instead. Now that... was some amazing curry.
"I am too. They're a very sweet Pokemon. Very thoughtful and pleasant..." Farrah smiled over at Andante with a very warm and affectionate expression. "We love watching the stars together. But they do seem to have quite the protective streak... it's almost been like having my own guardian angel. Dec's a good boy of course - but he's not as careful or delicate as Dante is."
Her eyes crinkled with the off-center smile, and she leaned her head towards Takara's shoulder. The night had only just begun, but Farrah's poor old heart already felt like it was near to bursting - like a bottle of champagne that had been shaken up too much before the vinter tried to take the cork off. "I'll be glad to see Orion, then, and to see you at the festival." She covered her mouth with a surprised expression at the second Riolu. Takara had caught a second? -- Wait. And then she was a Houndour... Even Elegy looked confused, his head tilting with a little sniff and wide-eyes, distracted from his greeting woof towards Takara. And then... the final form. The cute little fox with her side-tuft of fur. "Oh my gosh..." Farrah hid her smile, "She's just the sweetest thing. What a cutie. And an amazing ability at that! What a fascinating lil' girl." Farrah couldn't hide the blush that followed, though. And this cute little trickster reminded Takara of her? That was... extremely flattering and sweet, actually. Incredibly so.
Andante made a soft noise at Takara's greeting, and they bowed deeply before looking over to Shri and the new addition to the five of them. Carefully, the golem sat down at the group with a pleasant little hum of noise and energy. Their gaze then returned to the stars - seemingly content to relax and watch the sky, and passively take in the company of the others. Elegy stretched out next to them with some baked berries from the selection. He snuffled in Loki's direction, tail wagging curiously. That was a really neat trick that she pulled! Elegy couldn't do that - but he respected it!
Decibel noticed Shri's expression and didn't bother to hide the look of empathetic amusement. He moved to sit next to the Riolu and nudged her shoulder gently with a little understanding smile. Aww, it wasn't all that bad. There was all of em now, too. It'd be fine. Plenty of snacks and good conversation to go around! He looked up at the sky with Andante at Shri's mention of the plan. Ooh, a starry surprise, huh? As much as Farrah loved the night and the stars, he was certain that they would love that.
Farrah hummed as she took a sip of wine in thought. They reminded themselves mentally that Takara didn't mind when they rambled. That they thought it was endearing. (And oh, didn't that darken a blush on their cheeks to remember?) "So, my other two... Jazz and Mosh. I met them in Gladegloom - not long after our fateful meeting in the library, actually. Jazz was a real sweetheart - she's a Sudowoodo. The gal was doin' her best impression of a tree; I think Dec and I startled her. She loves sunning in the windows and up on the roof. And the other one..." Farrah's expression dropped for a moment as they thought about the memory. "Things were a bit wild in the woods. Mosh is a Seviper - and he's absolutely massive. We were lucky that the capture was successful or it might have gotten worse than a little scuffle with an apex predator. But I respect his strength and he respects me. But ah... ahah. They did get worse anyway. I don't know." Farrah gave a soft whistle over to Decibel to prompt him to look over for a moment. "Mosh and Jazz are wonderful. We got really lucky to have em as part of the family. But it's also a good reminder how dangerous those woods can be now that they aren't empty."
As Decibel looked over, it became obvious as to what Farrah was talking about when gesturing towards the Pokemon. What wasn't there before was a large scar that marked across the Zigzagoon's jaw, splitting part of his lip and exposing a bit of tooth. He didn't seem bothered by it at all as he nibbled on some tart, but it was plainly obvious across his cheek and jaw. He wagged his tail at the two humans before going back to his own conversation. "There was... a Snorlax," Farrah said. "I shouldn't have tried to fight it with Decibel. It was tearing branches and shaking the trees and ground. It scared me, to see Decibel batted out of the sky like that. Like a little insignificant gnat. But we were lucky it was only that."
Farrah closed their eyes for a moment, before shaking their head with a smile. Their tone of voice returned back to it's affectionate lilt. "It was absolutely terrifying but the trip was still amazing, all things considered. Don't regret it at all. Jazz is one of the biggest powerhouses I've ever met. But enough of me and my ever-present rambling. How did you all meet miss Loki?"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds That noise made Takara blush a bit. Oh, was the food that good? They took a bite of their own, rather pleased with how well they did cooking this meal. It took a good majority of the whole day and making sure they had kept it warm enough to last for the night. But they were very pleased with what they had managed to do. Cooking had always been one of Takara's greatest pleasures. It was meditative."Oh, that's so cute," Takara said, smiling at Andante. "What a fascinating pokemon... they must like you a lot to be willing to care for you in such a way." It was true. Takara was just overjoyed Farrah had such a lovely pokemon. Her whole team was amazing, in fact!
Loki preened at the compliments from Farrah and gave a snicker much seeming to say 'you know it' before giving Shri a bit of a look and another chuckle. Shri took comfort in Dec's little bump and returned one of her own before giving Loki a strict look. This was a night for Takara and Farrah and if Loki did anything to ruin it, Shri would ensure the little fox would pay. Loki just rolled her eyes and chuckled. She knew when it was a good time or not to play pranks. Shri needed to chill. Instead, the fox looked to Elegy and smiled, wagging her tail a bit. She took his form again before taking her own, giving a small chuckle before really settling down, watching the other pokemon carefully. Takara listened to Farrah, entirely intrigued and enamored. Their expression matched parts of the story, wonderment at meeting Jazz, worry at meeting Mosh and then.... pure concern about the snorlax. He eyed the injury on Dec and frowned deeply. Oh... oof, that looked like it hurt. Takara wouldn't know how to react if Shri ever got hurt like that. Even Shri seemed to finally notice and let out a surprised gasp and gently touched Dec sympathetically. "Whoa... a whole snorlax did that huh.... pokemon can be scary sometimes. But I'm so happy Dec is alright. And you are, too, of course." Takara smiled. "Jazz and Mosh sound lovely. I'd love to meet Jazz and.... well, only if Mosh wants to meet me. He sounds like quite the sight!" But still... there was a bit of worry in Takara's face when considering that snorlax. Must have been a strong one. But they soon smiled.
"Oh! Yes. Well, I went for a walk in the woods a few days ago. It seemed to be really full of life and all, lots of natural noise. Bird song, ya know. Turns out, a good majority of that was Loki playing a prank on us! I thought it was hilarious," Takara smiled, looking over at Loki. She was eating the berry goods quietly, seeming to behave herself. "It's funny, I actually kinda gushed to her about how much she reminded me of you.... but, uh, after that I found this electric squirrel thing and I caught him. I don't know what to do with 'em but they seem sweet. Might give them to a newer trainer. He's got some spunk. And then we met Orion. He was following us around and was just... such a sweet little guy. Very young. Like a toddler, almost. I asked if he wanted to join the little family and he agreed. So, yeah... I like em all a lot. They are pretty sweet." They chuckled. "Sorry the story isn't as vibrant as yours, it was pretty much a basic walk in the woods."
Takara cleared their throat though. "But uh.... when you finish dinner I have another surprise for you. No rush, of course. It's good to go whenever." Takara had paid someone a good amount of money to wait for a specific text message. It'd be worth it!

Andante realized they were being looked at, and made a soft noise of appeasement towards the two trainers. Farrah's eyes crinkled in a smile in return at the ghostly golem. "They must, but I'm grateful for it. It's certainly better than being at odds, but I appreciate the bond. Makes things a little less lonely at home with the increasing liveliness." They were incredibly fond of the Golett, too. Such a sweetheart, and between them and Jazz sometimes Farrah wondered if they weren't more inclined to be a ground or rock trainer. But one look at Decibel reminded them... nah. They loved who they were and who they trained.
Decibel nibbled on his treat as he looked back from the sky and watched the two younger Pokemon casually, relaxing with a comfortable snuffle as Shri nudged him back. He huffed laughter himself at Loki's little chuckle. Had to love the good old classic dark-type antics. This was a sweet lil' pup. Decibel could tell he was fond of her already. He glanced to Shri was a fond look. Seemed their trainers didn't need to much be worried about. There was no negativity he could feel in the air at all.
Elegy's little stub tail wiggled harder as Loki wagged back at him. When she took his form his head near went sideways with a curious look, ears perked forward like fuzzy excited triangles. Yeah, that! It was so neat! He could like... fire? And be tough? Top dog? But nothing quite so awesome as that. Decibel snuffled at Takara at the frown, and as Shri gasped and rested a paw on him, he turned his head towards the Riolu and blepped at her fondly. He was okay! The hit knocked him out cold almost instantly. One moment he was squaring up against this big fuck-all bastard, and next thing he knew, poof! Pokemon Center.
"We both certainly got out of it okay," Farrah smiled. "Mosh is a beast but he'll behave. I'd love for you to meet them both too." Noting the worry on Takara's face, she reached over and gently brushed her fingers atop Takara's comfortingly. Their expression was fond, and as Takara spoke of their own walk in the woods, they perked up and listened intently. Oh wow, the woods that alive? When Farrah was there they were so... quiet. Maybe it was because of the fact that it was late night, though. "Oh wow, that sounds like a massive prank to get so many Pokemon in on it. Wonder how she did it," they tilted their head. And then Farrah blushed warmly, picking her wine glass back up to try to disguise the hotness of their cheeks. Oh... gushing about them? Really? Farrah wasn't sure they were worth such sweet words but it made their heart feel really light and fluttery to hear it nonetheless. They hummed softly as they took a sip before responding appropriately to the rest of Takara's story.
"A lil' sparky fella, huh? If he doesn't fit along with you, that might be a good call. Young thing full of energy for a young trainer equally full of spunk?" Farrah grinned brightly. "It really sounds like you're growing quite the lovely family yourself; that's absolutely wonderful. Orion really sounds like an absolute darling. I'm really glad to hear it." Farrah giggled quietly and shook their head. "No no, so what if it wasn't as dangerous? A nice nature walk is a lovely thing and I love getting to hear about it."
Reminded of dinner, Farrah started nibbling at it again with a pleased expression, before looking back up to Takara. "You really did go all out," she said. "I find that I'm extremely flattered. It's really, really sweet."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds The small brush of Farrah's fingers had Takara's heart flutter and they flipped their head to, very gently, try to hold Farrah's. At least for a moment, if they so allowed. "You think so? I just... really wanted to impress you. First impressions and all," they chuckled nervously. "But... I didn't mind, you're worth all the effort and more, really." Was that smooth? They hoped so. They quickly went back to eating, growing more nervous for the upcoming surprise. Thankfully, Takara had the hindsight to pack some to-go containers if Farrah wanted to take anything home with them for later. Leftovers were the lifeblood of the world, in Takara's mind. Or, the lifeblood of their food life. They took another small sip of the wine, enjoying the taste. Takara had some whiskey back at the office they sometimes indulged in to celebrate if they won over the board or as something to have when stressed to hell and back. It was nice, to have these old things to enjoy, but Takara tried to be frugal with them. Not everyone could enjoy these things and that was... such a shame. Maybe one day things could change for sure... like growing new things in spring to bring back some of the old comforts their grandparents had. "But... um... let me know when you are ready for the surprise, alright?" they said with a smile. "Take your time, of course!" Takara was in no rush. They were happy to sit right here. "So... when do you want to take our trip out to the desert? Any thoughts?"
Shri gave a fond smile to Dec when he stuck his tongue out, sharing her concern for him but that she knew he was one tough pokemon. Perhaps one day they could even battle each other and spar. It would be nice, she said, to battle a pokemon with real knowledge for battles. Shri hadn't... battled anyone, actually. Not really. Takara never really wanted her to get involved in fights because she was so small. Loki, on the other hand, was having a great time with Elegy. Fire was so fun! She chuckled at the ideas of the pranks that could be pulled with some fire.... she shifted her form back to her usual fox self and chuckled again. Top dog, huh? She could see it! Elegy had that look about him that spoke to a tough pokemon. She herself wanted to grow stronger for better pranks! She couldn't quite cast massive illusions yet, but she had seen some of her evolution line that could transform into whole people! She hoped to one day do that. Think of the prank opportunities!
