Farrah glanced down when they felt Takara's hand move - and a little something squeezed in their chest as they realized the gesture. They relaxed their hand delicately into Takara's as they relaxed into an unbelievably soft little smile, curling their own fingertips around Takara's hand as well. They'd let their hand remain right where it was until Takara let go. The mention of impressions made Farrah hum softly, amused - but with a slow blush brushing across her cheeks. "I think you already made quite the impression when you saved me from a nasty fall," they said, "...but this certainly doesn't hurt. It's very, very sweet of you."
It was amazing just how wonderful dinner tasted. Farrah was apt to take their time eating if only just to savor the delicate but also heated and savory flavors and the way they melted across their taste buds like a carefully controlled wildfire. And atop that, to savor the absolutely wonderful company they had with the beautiful human being next to them. She hadn't been on a date this nice in... well. Ever, actually - family dinner's and business relations didn't count. This was definitely high-tier but that wasn't what Farrah meant at all. They hadn't been treated this sweetly or thoughtfully by someone on a date in a very long time. It really was incredibly touching.
"I will," Farrah said with a warm smile. "It's lovely just to get to see you again and enjoy your company as well." She tilted her head as she thought about Takara's question in depth. Ah, the desert! Farrah was indeed quite looking forward to that trip. They'd found that their hikes into the woods were the favorite parts of their weeks now; going even further out, into new places? New exploration? And the unknown of just what Takara might find out there with that brilliant mind of theirs... it was an exciting thought. "Mmm... Decibel is starting to get much stronger. Jazz can hold her own - but the rest of my team has a little ways to go before I think they're ready to take on the sands. But that being said, it's not right to withhold the expedition off of just a bit of worry. But aside from those two aforementioned shows, my work schedule is relatively flexible. What about you?"
Decibel appreciated Shri's concern. It was very kind and empathetic of her to worry. But she was right! He was tough. He'd taken that hit and come back okay, and he knew he could take significantly more dangerous or nasty and come back just as strong as well! It would take a genuine act of intent to actually take him down. He knew it. And Decibel surely wouldn't mind sparring with Shri! He agreed; it was nice to get to battle or spar against someone who wasn't... he glanced over at Elegy before shaking his head. Anyway. And it was nice for Decibel to challenge himself. He knew he was at disadvantage when it came to Shri four ways to Sunday.
Elegy gave that puppy grin right back at Loki. Darn right fire was fun! Warm and intense and so so pretty. His old pack - his family - used to do light shows to teach the youngest pups how to harness and control their strength, and to teach them how to use the fire. He would always remember that as a very fond memory, especially when the newest Houndoom would come into their own against the elders. But that was then and this was now! And it was darn right that he was top dog. Alpha of his own pack. Decibel heard this from Elegy and looked at Shri with an exaggerated eyeroll and a very slow drawn out sigh. Elegy took no heed to it. What Loki could do was on such a whole different level of cool. Others like her could turn into like, human people people entirely?? That was absolutely amazing! And oh man... the sheer levels of fun that could come from that...

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds "Well," they said with a chuckle. "I'm glad." What were they supposed to say otherwise? They hoped this turned into more than one date? That they actually really wanted to keep seeing Farrah more often and spend time with them even if there were no dates? That Takara desperately wanted to just watch bad tv with Farrah and stay in and order pizza sometimes? To be domestic? As it stood, they didn't really have time for a domestic life style given they were always working and doing more than they had to. But for Farrah? Takara felt they were willing to give that up. Even if they had only known each other for a short while. It never hurt to hope, right?"Hmm... your team does sound pretty strong and ready but..." Takara looked to Shri and Loki and frowned a bit. "For some reason, I keep finding baby pokemon. Orion is... very young, I believe. Shri doesn't have much combat experience yet and Loki I just caught. I might need time to really train them up before heading out to the wild. But that shouldn't take too long." They smiled, moving the thoughts of training from their mind. "But! I can convince the office to let me go whenever. It'll just take some careful wording and some paperwork." It wasn't like they could stop Takara from going anywhere or doing something.
They looked back up at the sky. The stars were wonderful tonight. "So... you ready for that surprise?" they asked with a smile and a twinkle in their eye.
Shri smiled, feeling a bit proud in her abilities. She knew that, whenever she evolved like her parents, she would be a rather strong pokemon. Her typing gave her several advantages. She was actually surprised Orion didn't mind her given she would one day be able to take him out. Plus her typing was a strong advantage against a pokemon like Decibel. But to her, typing didn't really make much of a difference. It was your talent and power in battle that would see you through. Type advantages could help, but they weren't everything.
The fox snickered. She rather liked this puppy. He had the right idea! Damn right she was cool, but she already liked the bones that decorated his fur and the way he could control fire. That was such a neat power. And besides, her real talents with illusions would have to wait for her to grow stronger. She sighed, ears drooping. Takara was always really busy, it was difficult for them to get out of the office and properly train them. Shri tried, but it was different to get boxing lessons from a blue dog than it was to actually battle and be out in the real world. Aw well. It was what it was!

Farrah hummed affectionately, amused with Takara's answer. She was glad they were glad. This really had been one of the most genuine, sweetest dates Farrah had ever been on. And Takara... they really were just in a whole other league. In a way, they wondered if there was another shoe that was going to drop on them. If it really could be just that perfect. But Takara seemed nothing but just pure. Genuine light. Genuine intelligence, and such a lovely warm heart, and their hand fit with Farrah's in just that right way, and god, they were just unfairly, devilishly gorgeous. It really didn't seem like that other shoe could possibly exist. The worry so irrational it was obliterated in Takara's smile. They found themselves hoping - really hoping - that this, with them... that it worked out.
They couldn't help but giggle quietly at Takara mentioning finding only babies. "They can't help but be drawn to your sweetness," Farrah said. They nodded, though. "But of course, that's more than understandable. Can't go tossing small pups into the sandy void, yeah? We're in no rush at all. I know I'm not." No, Farrah was just happy to be here tonight. And maybe more nights. Or days. Many dates. They didn't need to barrel towards the goal of their first meeting that fast, did they? "And the nice thing about being a self-made artist... I make my own hours. You can always call me and I'll be there."
As Takara looked up at the sky, Farrah found that she did too. It was so... so beautiful tonight. They found themselves absolutely mesmerized for a moment. Just the glittering twinkling beauty. It was absolutely one of the best things about Deprin. With mostly clean energy, there was no smog, save for around Drackinhelm. And with no smog... you could just see endless stars forever. How tiny and inconsequential everyone was to the great giants of the beyond. It was comforting. Being a speck of stardust in the vast universe, but amongst a billion other little specks, all wishing the same thing, all looking and wishing upon the same glory of space. When she realized she hadn't answered, Farrah blushed darkly and stammered, looking back to Takara - and immediately being taken with the shining beauty in their eyes too. "Um! Y- yes. I do... I must admit. I am incredibly curious what you have planned." They smiled back softly.
Decibel grinned back. It was damn right that Shri was going to be absolutely amazing when she evolved. By Yveltal; she was amazing now. He could only imagine the strength that would come from her later on! And the fact that he knew Shri would absolutely be able to level him? He was as flustered by the thought as he was proud. Dec didn't like backing down. Even when he was beat. It threw him off his game... but he'd do his best. And she was right. When it came down to it, even the best type advantage couldn't hold down to the sheer spirit of battle! If a Pokemon didn't want to go down, they wouldn't.
Aww. Elegy liked Loki too! He flickered his ears. The houndour appreciated the compliment. He thought his bones were neat too! Though his old packmates? Oh man. They were way cooler. Elegy was like... such a plain pidgey in comparison. But that was fine; it just meant he had so much to grow into as he got stronger. Even if he wasn't pretty now, there was no telling how he'd be later on, right? And the same went for Loki. Even if it was difficult to get out of the office and battle and train... even just boxing lessons could turn into a way to train the cleverness, right? Perk up! There was so much unlimited potential. She'd be the best illusionist of all. Elegy knew it. How did he know it? Well. That was a trade secret. But he did.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara smiled and felt their heart flutter a bit. "OK, lean on back here," they said, grabbing some pillows and putting them down for comfort. They then grabbed their phone and sent the text message before laying back. A few seconds later, every light on the block shut off, removing all immediate light pollution for a pure view of the sky. "This whole block was shut down for repairs, so no one would be disturbed by the lights being shut off. So... perfect view of the sky." It wasn't easy to do but it was easy enough. "And... the streetlights are on a different circuit for safety so... an old friend works in electricity."Ah, they hoped Farrah liked this. Was it too much? Maybe it was too much. Takara didn't want to... flaunt power or anything they just really wanted to impress Farrah, show her a great time. If only just how seriously Takara was taking this date and this night and Farrah, as a person. Shri chuckled. Decibel sure was a tough customer. One day, they could have to spar with each other and see just how strong the other was! But at the moment, she knew that he was a tough customer and a great fighter in general. She could appreciate that about him, and how he didn't back down. Although that did worry her some. Not quitting was a good skill to have, but it could also lead to danger. he would have to promise her he would be safe! Loki chuckled. Elegy was a rather sweet pup, she could tell. She fluffed up her fur and let him know, in no simple terms, that he was pretty now! And that just meant when he got bigger he'd be beautiful! No other dog could ever compare to him! Besides, one day he'd have the best fire tricks around and she could not wait to pull some pranks with him in the future, if he was down for it. She wanted to not only grow strong in battle but also practice her prank skills! It was a vital lesson, you know! Good pranks were hard to come by nowadays. You had to have the perfect balance and not cause harm. Pranks that caused actual emotional, mental or physical pain were never fun!

Farrah removed the scarf that had been covering exposed skin from their neck, folding it and setting it next to them. It wouldn't do to lay down while wearing it - things on the neck? Mild choking hazard but also horribly uncomfortable. With that removed though, they settled down next to Takara, eyes on them curiously as she shifted to be comfortable against the pillows. What was it that Takara had planned by this...?
She didn't have much time to think on it though, because as they opened their mouth to ask, all the electricity and lights went out. A bit shocked, their head whipped up to look - only to be absolutely entranced by the sheer beauty that was the sky above. Without the pollution of an overly developed city, nor smog or artificial lights, it was just thousands and thousands of stars stretched across an inky dark canvas. "Oh... oh wow." Their eyes widened in quiet surprise, and a slow smile began to spread across their face, absolutely enchanted. "You've got some amazing friends to be able to pull this kind of thing. This is just... a whole other level of beautiful."
The slow smile turned into a bright one as they looked back over at Takara, shyly offering her hand to them again. "This is just beyond gorgeous. I don't think I've ever seen the sky quite like this before. Like we could just reach up and grasp it." As if pulled by magnets, their gaze slowly turned back skyward. "It just... it amazes me how much is up there. How people can see the dark as something scary, or malignant - but look just how beautiful it is. Nothing like this could ever be considered bad. In any regard. It's the infinite possibility of absolutely everything. Ancient arbiters observing a million possibilities spread before them."
Decibel twitched his nose good naturedly at Shri as he tilted his head. Sure, he promised! But it would sure take a lot to take him down anyway in any regard of actual danger. He was the danger as far as he was concerned. But for Shri's worry and countenance, yes. He promised that he would be safe; as safe as he could possibly be, all things in the world considered. And there was his team, on top of that! Sure they were an eclectic mess, but they were learning to work together. They'd be alright.
Elegy's ears perked up proudly with a nod. He appreciated the compliment! But he'd put it to shame one day, if only when he was grown. The houndour didn't mind being a gangly pup right now - that was all part of growin', yeah? Gotta grow before you can be at the top of your prime, afterall. And absolutely; he gave a wolfish little grin. He was absolutely down for future pranks. Both in growing stronger and in having fun! Just call upon him and if he could, the dark type was there! And of course, Loki was right. There was good pranks and bad pranks. And they were good pranksters.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds The anxiety that had been bubbling up in regards to the surprise they had planned soon turned into something warm and almost bubbly at just watching Farrah's reaction. Takara was perfectly happy just watching Farrah's face, considering them just as beautiful as the stars above. But staring as rude, right? They looked back towards the sky, humming in appreciation at the beauty and expanse above them. A soft chuckle escaped them. "Yeah... Terry is a great guy, we went to college together. When I told him the details, he just laughed and said he had me covered. We got till sun up to stargaze, actually. Then he'll flip the switch back." Did Takara pack some coffee? They had gotten up so early that morning to get everything ready and to sneak the wine out of the office... even though they didn't have to sneak anything out of their own company.
They looked back over at Farrah and offered their own grin and gently took Farrah's hand, feeling that fluttering in their chest and their stomach again. It wasn't an uncomfortable feeling, but it made them a bit anxious. Didn't it usually take more dates and being friends first to really feel anything? Or maybe it was the wine... either way... Takara looked at the sky and listening to Farrah talk with a soft smile. Arceus, just their voice and accent was enough to make Takara feel relaxed. "I'm really happy you like it... I really am." Takara said softly. The whole day they had been just a mess, it had gotten to the point poor Orion was about to cry from worry over Takara's anxiety. Poor kid. But everything seemed to work out just fine! It was nice. Takara could happily stay like this for hours, hell, days even if it was possible. Shri smiled at Dec's promise, then she looked to the sky, hoping Dante enjoyed the lovely view. It really was nice to witness, wasn't it? The bright stars above them and the galaxy around them. She had heard talk about how pokemon had vanished for so long, and she wasn't sure about it since she had been in her pokeball, and Orion sure didn't know he had gone anywhere, but at least humans had the sky during that time. It was peaceful, that great expanse, being so small compared to it. She found peace in it, as if she could feel the aura of the cosmos. If only. Loki chuckled at Elegy's words. Very well then! One day they would prank together. She herself couldn't wait till she got actual hands to handle things with, but she needed to grow stronger before she could do so. A zoroark, like her mother, was a powerful illusion caster. Loki couldn't wait until she got the same powers... oh, the pranks she could pull!

"We've got all night? Truly?" Farrah's smile brightened more if possible, glancing at Takara and winking before looking back up at the sky. This was just so magnificent on so many different levels. It was utterly amazing. And to get to enjoy all of this not just with Pokemon, and with a whole new universe out there, but with a person that seemed so sweet and charming and lovely that appeared to see Farrah for Farrah instead of anything else? What kind of good karma did they incur lately for this to happen?
With Takara's hand back in their own again, Farrah gently threaded their fingers together. It felt like goosebumps went up their arm at the contact. Like some spark. Wasn't that just bizarre? That kind of thing only happened in like... fairy tales and serials and soap operas that aggrandized the unreal potentials of romance. And yet. And yet. They couldn't deny something was there, even if they didn't understand what it was quite yet, or why it was different, or how.
"I'm happy that you're happy," Farrah hummed back softly. "Full honesty, I was just looking really forward to getting to see you all day." They chuckled quietly in the back of their throat, but the smile was still there. "But that the evening has been so unbelievably wonderful... I'm really glad, you know?" And to get to see the stars like this, and the amazing dinner and just feel way over the top pampered almost. It was such a change. A nice change.
Decibel looked up to the stars as well as Shri did, just enjoying the beautiful darkness of the night. It was amazing to see it all again after so many years cooped up inside a Pokeball. Even if his ball was nice, and Farrah had taken good care of him the last six years, nothing quite compared to the real thing. The breeze in your fur, the endless skies and possibility and the pleasantness of nighttime. He'd forgotten how much he missed it.
Elegy whuffed, pleased. Darn right! He imagined hands would go a long way in some things... like, he couldn't imagine. He'd always have paws. But he did have a hard head! Which could be useful sometimes depending on what mischief he was getting into. And powerful evolved illusions... it was gonna be a hell of a time. A hell of a great time!

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Ah, good. Takara relaxed at Farrah's words, feeling happy that they really did enjoy the evening and the night. They hummed a bit at Farrah's words, letting their eyes close. Oof, there was a bit of an exhausted burn there. Takara had been up early cooking and getting everything ready, but it had all bee worth it, that they are sure about. Besides, they could call into the office tomorrow, not that they'd get anything done. They'd fall asleep at the desk anyway."I'm really happy," they said with a bit of a chuckle, "plus, I was also looking forward to just seeing you." They would have said more, maybe about how beautiful and amazing Farrah was and how they made Takara feel. Maybe ask if and when Farrah wanted to do this again or maybe just gush over how amazingly smart Farrah was. But sadly, all words were lost after just a few moments with Takara's eyes closed in the darkness around them. They weren't... asleep as much as they were dozing in and out. They were listening to the soft voices of their pokemon and still aware there was cake to enjoy before the night was out, but the day had finally caught up to them. Plus, the warmth of Farrah's hand was not helping matters, the touch acting like a security blanket to be able to doze in and out on top of an abandoned building on a street that only saw action if someone wanted to skateboard down it and do sick kicks. Shri looked over at Takara and sighed a bit with a smile, looking to Decibel. She explained in short what had been going on that day. Takara had gotten up before the sun to get everything ready, she had been wondering when the ten cups of coffee would wear off. It seemed the exhaustion had finally hit them. Loki also took notice and chuckled, making her way over to Takara to jump on their chest, receiving no argument from the human. She made her nest on Takara's chest, looking as if she would doze off as well with her paws tucked up under her collar of fur. She gave a bit of a quiet chuckle at her position, finding humor in the situation.

"I'm glad to hear that," Farrah murmured softly. It was... really nice, to think that someone looked forward to seeing them. Farrah. Farrah Strumhold Whitaker. Not Strum the musician with all the connections, not Farrah Winthrop, heir to the Winthrop business and the accountant of the family's finances and estate. Just the queer, music loving insomniac that liked staying in and watching bad movies, reading old law cases, and going on long walks in the moonlight to gaze at the stars.
Glancing down at Takara, she chuckled quietly under her breath. Must have been a hell of a day to be so exhausted. But the night was also so peaceful... Farrah couldn't judge that in the slightest. They eyed the cake for a moment after but... eh! It could wait for a little while. Just enjoy the beautiful stars. It was gonna be there all night, afterall - and they'd be here for a while yet to enjoy it! There was no huge rush to finish eating and leave.
Taking a long, deep breath, Farrah let themselves fall into deep thought as they looked up at the night sky - not perhaps, so unlike Andante, who was doing much the same. "I used to get into so much trouble stargazing as a child," they said - perhaps more to themselves than any truly awake audience, and yet nonetheless, "My brother and I would sneak up onto the roof on nights when the moon was full and stay up there until our little sister snitched on us. But it was always so peaceful. Nowhere as beautiful nor clear as this, but in a busy house, the escape was nice. I suppose the habit never really left; I've always loved the night more than any other time of day." Perhaps that was why Farrah loved dark type Pokemon so much. The night, afterall, belonged to them and the ghosts.
As Loki made herself at home on Takara's chest, Farrah looked back down with a sharp exhale of amusement. Carefully, she reached over with her free hand to scratch their fingertips behind Loki's ear, petting the Zorua for a moment - and of course stopping immediately if it seemed Loki didn't want or like the touch. "Thank you," they said warmly, "For bringing me up here."
Decibel tilted his head as he watched the two humans and Loki, listening to Shri as he did so. That was very sweet of Takara, to get up so early and be so, so prepared. If only Farrah knew that, he knew how much it would mean to his human. But that... was a lot of caffeine. Decibel got worried about Farrah, sometimes, but they usually never imbibed that much. Was... Takara okay? Elegy meanwhile, yawned as Loki wandered off, getting up himself and shaking his fur out. He stretched, and picked up another Pokemon treat before coming over to plop down and stretch out closer to the other two Pokemon, between them and where Andante was now watching and listening to their trainer curiously rather than the stars.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara listened to Farrah talk, their brain processing the words perhaps a bit slower than usual while Takara fought against fully falling asleep, but it felt nice to rest their eyes a bit, especially when in such good company. The soft purrs from Loki wasn't helping either. Ah, well, Takara was used to taking quick cat naps on the couch in their office. When you pulled all nighters going through company records, you learned how to get some sleep so you were at least functioning the next day."Why would you get in trouble?" Takara asked quietly, slightly delayed from normal conversation. "Nothing wrong with stargazing." It baffled them that anyone would get in trouble for wanting to look at the stars. Bedtime was one thing, but should kids be encouraged to appreciate the natural wonders of the universe? When Farrah began to scratch behind Loki's ear, her eyes closed and her purr got three times as loud, now clearly audible. She leaned into the touch, seeming to enjoy the attention as she started to paw against Takara's chest. They gave a bit of a grunt as her sharp little claws dug into their skin under the shirt, but Takara was used to it. Loki did sometimes climb Takara like a tree, after all. They opened their eyes to look at Farrah with a smile. "Of course, I wanted it to be a night you'd remember." That was always a good thing, right? Someone remembering a first date? There would be more? Right? Maybe?
Shri shrugged at Decibel's question. Yes and no. Ten cups of coffee was a little excessive for Takara, but only by three cups. The human survived off caffeine, anxiety and stress it seemed. They could just take the money their job offered them and only come in to sign papers and leave again, living in luxury, but Takara was far more proactive. Someone called out, Takara did the job if they were able. Not the first time, not the last. It was as if they refused to be a passive player in their work. But that came with problems. Shri was worried about Takara's health, but until she got bigger, she couldn't really enforce healthy habits.

Farrah didn't answer for a long moment, distracted by the sweet and precious purrs that were coming from Loki. Such a wonderful noise coming from such a small and curious little creature... and quite calming in it's way as well. It made Farrah's eyelids feel a bit heavy, and they took a deep breath to ward the sleepiness off. "Mm," they murmured as they recalled their thoughts. "No, I agree. In itself, there's nothing wrong with the stars..."
She chuckled though as she looked back up towards the horizon. "But I suppose I can understand it. Two young kids up on the roof and mysteriously missing from their room? But we were always of the mind to better ask forgiveness than permission." It probably explained a lot about why Farrah turned out the way they did. The rebellious ran young, as it were. But that was a whole other suitcase to unpack that they had no intention of undoing the latches on.
They smiled back over at Takara as they noticed those pretty eyes pointed her way. "I don't think I'd ever forget this even if I wanted to. Thank you." They winked with a little cheerful hum. "It makes me look forward to future rendezvous." But they did take the moment to take in how tired Takara looked. It made sense, as much work as they put in to all of this, the effort, the probable struggle... she could only hope they weren't too exhausted. Farrah's mind was already beginning to plan ahead to the future - the museum, perhaps... something lovely but equally less build up of worry, after how wonderful tonight was? They'd think more on it, though Farrah was noticing that perhaps with all the excitement and nervousness on her own end, she was beginning to feel Cresselia's call as well, in the back of their mind.
But while the thought was still there, and the night not getting any younger... she tilted her head slightly down towards their dinner. "Not to interrupt our comfort, but..." Farrah chuckled abashedly. "Don't suppose you want to try the fruits of your labor in that cake, hm?"
Decibel made a sharp sniff noise in surprise at the sheer amount of caffeine. Ten!? That was like.... that was more than an entire pot with some of those machines. No wonder Takara seemed a little off, that was only more than understandable. If Farrah tried to drink that much they'd probably drop dead, he thought. That was some dedication though. Decibel could easily respect that. But the worry on health though... that was certainly a concern; one Decibel would help with were he able!

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds They listened as best they could, the purring from Loki and the warmth from her not helping matters in Takara fighting off sleep. But Takara sat up after the mention of cake. Oh! Yes! Of course! He'd talk to Farrah more about her childhood later on, finding the topic interesting if not... worrying in some aspect, but Takara believed in who people were now and not where they came from. There was a lot that could happen from childhood on, but it wasn't a topic they wanted to press. Some folks had pretty heavy baggage from childhood and they didn't want to potentially ruin such a wonderful night. "Yes! Of course!" They chuckled, moving to grab the cake knife they had brought and some fresh plates. "I look forward to it too, our future dates, that is." They chuckled. "Assuming this isn't the last one, of course." They had a feeling it wouldn't be, but Takara couldn't wait. Seeing more of Farrah, learning more about them, talking to them, just sitting there listening and enjoying their voice. It would be... amazing. Just the thought of seeing Farrah again after tonight excited them, but even here every glance towards Farrah was filled with a fluttery heart and a disbelief Takara had somehow convinced this person to go on a date with them. How lucky were they? Takara cut the cake and handed a slice to Farrah with a little cake fork. Takara had their own slice, but they wanted to wait for Farrah to enjoy the first bite, waiting with baited breath at the judgement of their efforts. Shri agreed with Decibel. She was so worried. When she first met Takara, she had noticed some grey hairs already, but it had gotten worse. They picked them out, of course. But Takara seemed to stress out about so much all the time. She sighed. Once she evolved, she knew she could make Takara rest and recuperate. But she had to wait. She wasn't there yet. As if there was a block inside herself and she feared it was from a lack of knowing Takara well enough. She felt as if she was loyal enough, but maybe... she wasn't yet. It saddened her. But that was alright. One day, she could overcome her own nature and evolve for Takara's benefit. Then she would be unstoppable!

Farrah nodded with a bright smile, before chuckling and shaking her head. “I certainly hope this isn’t the last one,” they replied. It would be an absolutely lovely time. With their pokemon - or even if not! Getting to spend time with people outside of work was a rarity for Farrah anyway. Getting to spend time outside of work with people Farrah liked was even less-so. And a datemate? Takara was the equivalent of a legendary Pokemon.
She would make sure not to let that kind of legendary encounter go to waste. Farrah paused for a moment as they sat up with Takara, taking a second to stretch their back out before accepting the slice. “Thank you,” they said. They examined the slice with a small grin. It looked so moist and luscious - and fresh strawberries? Farrah hadn’t had fresh fruit since they moved out of the family home after college.
Maybe it would’ve been more accurate to say during college, but there were holiday or off-term visits, so… anyway, they were getting distracted. A delicate forkful of the cake proved her initial observations absolutely correct; it was so succulent and downright delicious. Farrah made a little noise in the back of her throat of appreciation and looked to Takara with shining bright eyes. “This is absolutely amazing! The fresh tart kick of the berry… it’s so good.”
Grey hairs seemed concerning. Decibel tilted his head and looked down at his (admittedly greyscale) fur. In Pokemon that was normal, but humans… Now, Decibel couldn’t claim to know a whole ton human biology, but generally people weren’t grey unless they were old. He shouldered Shri gently in a comforting way. Hey now! Shri was plenty loyal! As loyal as a Pokemon partner could be. That definitely wasn’t the problem, in his opinion. Maybe it was more… hm. Decibel tilted his head, thinking. Sometimes human problems were just bigger than Pokemon. And this Deprin was really up there in big problems. They’d get there! It just took time, right? Time and strength and evolution certainly helped. But in Decibel’s mind, it certainly wasn’t a lack of loyalty.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara smiled brightly. They were so happy for... well, many reasons. First, that was verification that this wouldn't be the last date! And even then, it didn't have to be a date, just hanging out was fine too! Takara felt... relaxed for the first time in a long time. Farrah was such splendid company. It was nice to have someone they could just talk to and enjoy the company of. It was rare nowadays. Adulthood made it hard to find good people, if for a lack of time and availability.
But the second thing was the cake! The fact that it tasted good was also worth the trouble of getting it, but Farrah was no trouble anyway. If it was for them, Takara was fine. They took their own bite and hummed at the taste. They... never really had anything like it. It might become a habit, so good thing they were rare at the time being. It was just perfect. But more so was knowing Farrah was enjoying it. Takara took a small sip of their coffee, hoping to at least wake up a bit. How embarrassing, dozing off like that.... "So... what are your plans after this? I mean... we can always hang out and catch up and stuff! I can always take a few long lunch breaks at work if you are free and all." Ugh, they were so nervous again. Why was that? Farrah was sweet and nice and understanding and beautiful and amazing and- Shri sighed at the sudden onslaught of Takara's emotions. Ugh. She was not one for lovey dovey stuff. She stuck out her tongue to let Decibel know how she felt about the whole situation, giving a little bit of a laugh. But, Decibel was right. Humans had big problems. Maybe she needed to focus less on what she felt her issues were and focus more on what she was already doing. Maybe that was enough. She smiled at Decibel. He was a good friend, she could tell. She looked forward to seeing him more often too! It was nice to have good company. Takara rubbed the back of their neck, holding their plate up so Loki couldn't steal any. The little fox was trying her damn best. Ugh, little gremlin she was! But it was alright. Takara put a hand firmly on her back and pushed her down, making the fox sit in their lap. There.
