The only thing that could be said to be perhaps ostentatious about Farrah as a person was the place that they lived. This being said, it wasn’t necessarily the decor, nor the space that made the difference: it was above all the location.
The building itself wasn’t particularly out of the ordinary. It was one of the many newer highrises that had been built in the last twenty years, and it overlooked the city outskirts and Gladegloom in the far off distance. Farrah, however, lived on one of the top floors of the building. The elevator still worked just fine, and there was roof access a little ways down the hall. Entering showed quite plainly how the place had earned its price tag: the beautiful penthouse windows that stretched across the living room floor to ceiling, and continued along the outside walls of the apartment.
Farrah had put Mya up in the guest bedroom that evening. It was fairly spacious - the wall to the right of the door was lined with massive shelves stretching the way, and the long wall across from the door shared the same kind of windows as the living room. Otherwise, it was set up roughly like one would expect a nice hotel room to be. The apartment’s bathroom was the door next to Mya’s.
The main area of the apartment itself - the living room - was pretty open plan space and was the first thing one saw walking in. Where there weren't shelves on the main wall, there was an electric fireplace and a couch surrounding it. The kitchen was separated by open archways to the left of the front door, and further down the hallway to the left past that was a closet door, the bathroom and the guest bedroom. Across from the kitchen, mounted on the one chunk of wall not taken up by windows, was a TV. The dining room table was there too, attempting to not take up too much space, and in the corner sat a tired looking old piano. To the right were two more rooms: Farrah’s bedroom furthest down the hall, and another room that had been semi-repurposed from a workout room into a space dedicated to the needs and comfort of their Pokemon.
Farrah had retired fairly quickly after making sure Mya was settled in. They'd offered for Mya's team to stay in the big communal room if they wanted, but to set things up for them in the bedroom as well if preferred. The last thing they’d said that evening was that anything in the kitchen, whether pantry or fridge or elsewhere, was fair game and to have at it, before saying goodnight.
The musician was awake not too terribly long after the sun had risen. They looked and felt stupidly tired, but… it was time for them to be up and face the day. And to cook breakfast. Afterall, it was only polite. Ignoring where Elegy and Decibel were both still completely passed out on the couch in the room, they walked into the closet. They gave themselves a quick once-over in the closet mirror, opting for a simple tanktop and sweatpants - eh, their hair looked fine - before shuffling off to the kitchen.
As they roasted up some berries - straight from the community garden up on the roof - for the Pokemon, Farrah set aside a pepper to add into the mushroom scramble they were planning for their own and Mya’s meal. The coffee maker behind them chugged along in its way, unused to being used for its intended purpose instead of to heat water.
Andante meandered in to help, and Farrah ran their hand over the guardian Pokemon’s shoulder gently in thanks. “Mornin’, Dante. Sorry if we kept you n’ Jazz up comin’ in last night. Wasn’t intentional.” The Golett shrugged with a gentle expression, shaking their head. The ghost then dug around for the old kettle of Farrah's and set about to making their trainer a cup of tea as well. Farrah hummed their appreciation for the gesture quietly.

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Alright so she ate some of the food in the house. Usually, Mya wouldn't bother is being housed by someone, but given the only thing she had was coffee, she did eat a little something. But very shortly after that she had passed out. She hadn't really thought about the apartment or anything. It tracked that a famous musician would have a nice home, but it wasn't like... extravagant. It seemed to fit Farrah's personality, although Mya found herself yearning for a place with as many windows and as much open space. Her bedroom had kinda been a rather large closet for most of her life, so actually being in a room with.... space.... was strange. It was welcomed. Mya was deeply grateful to having a safe place to sleep for the nice. Plus in a bed. And with a bathroom to actually get washed up in. Mya prided herself on good hygiene and while she had no issue bathing in some rivers and lakes while camping, or stopping at a pokemon center or old truck stop for a shower, it was nice to actually be able to relax and not rush.
Eon had fallen asleep on Mya's jacket on the floor. He wanted to get in the bed, but Mya had told him that he couldn't be shedding his scales in someone else's house. He huffed at that. Fine. He wasn't too pressed, he liked sleeping on Mya's jacket. It offered some form of comfort and memories of when he was so young and little several months ago, being curled up in her jacket while they camped, safe from the rain and cold of the night. Járnsaxa decided to join Eon on the floor, sharing the blanket with him if only for comfort's sake. She preferred sleeping on the hard ground but this was fine too. Fuji, however, had curled up with Mya, finding himself a comfortable place wrapped up in her arms and tucked under her chin. Aaah, comfy. Which was maybe why he put up a fuss when Mya woke up and placed him within the covers. Ugh, humans. Never able to be pillows like they were meant to be! Mya ignored his adorable complaints and fished around in her travel bag for a fresh pair of clothes, wrapping up her dirty ones from the night before in a little bag before shoving it deep into the travel bag. She went to go brush her teeth and freshen up for the day, before returning to the bedroom. Alright.... Mya got to work fixing the bed, letting Fuji sit on her head and shoulders as she did so. This seemed to appease him. She ensured each sheet was tucked military style before the comforter was carefully laid out without a wrinkle and the pillows were properly fluffed before begin put right back to how Mya had found them. Sleeping one night in a bed didn't warrant the sheets needing to be washed but, well, that was what Mya thought anyway. She then went over to her jacket and started to pick up Eon's shedding scales one by one, putting them in a little baggie labeled 'Eon's Scales'. Járnsaxa woke up from this and stretched, sniffing the air. Food. Eon woke up, too, although grumpily. Mya patted his head. and put her jacket over her shoulders before picking up her bag and leaving the guest room. Mya kept her eyes peeled for Eon's shed scales, but the bagon was ahead of her, picking them up one by one. Járnsaxa ran into the kitchen, stopping short at the sight of the massive ghost golem. She gave a hello to Andante and Farrah. "Sup?" Mya asked, shrugging her bag off by the front door. "Anything I can do to help?" Eon dropped his collected scales into Mya's bag haphazardly. He wondered what she wanted them for. There were several hundred at this point, maybe thousands. Eh, who knew.

Farrah covered up a yawn as they flipped some of the berries in their skillet. They only paused for a moment when Andante stopped their own tasks, not thinking much of it - but paused themselves as their mind came out of autopilot. “Oh! Hello Járnsaxa. You ready for breakfast?” She held the pan up for a moment to gesture at it before setting it back over the heat. "Or… hm," the musician paused. "…Would you prefer dirt or soil? I'm pretty sure what we use in the garden's good quality…"
Andante patted the Larvitar on the head gently, before waggling their fingers at Eon as he came in as well. The living guardian then brushed Farrah out of the way and took the skillet from her to work on the berries. Obediently, Farrah stepped to the side to begin chopping mushrooms. As Mya came in her gaze raised to meet the other trainer's, and they raised the knife at Mya, tilting it in a friendly wave with a little smile. “Mornin’! Coffee’s on the pot, I think Andante put on water for tea if that's your style instead.”
She looked over to the stove and nodded, confirming this to be true. “I’m just making a scrambler here for you n’ I. They’re fake eggs, but.” Farrah shrugged a shoulder. Wasn’t like there’d be otherwise. “You like peppers or berries or anythin’? I’m a spice person but whatever y’feel like, y’know.” The musician paused for a moment after finishing with the mushrooms to rinse their hands off, stepping across the room to grab some bowls for the Pokemon. “Did you sleep well, hopefully?”
Andante rumbled little greetings to Mya’s Pokemon as they worked, as well as to the other human. They noticed the bag that Mya and Eon had full of scales, and slowly tilted their head at it with a questioning gaze. Farrah was setting the dishes out on the counter for Andante to fill when they saw the golem's gaze elsewhere. Following the look, they raised their eyebrows as they saw the bag of scales. "Are you collectin' em for a reason? Or just to keep clean? Poor fella sure sheddin' a ton. Bet it feels better to be rid of 'em though."

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Járnsaxa contemplated the question for a while. What did she want? After a while, she made a motion towards the berries and looked to Mya, giving a loud and loud cry at her. Mya sighed an reached into her bag, handing the larvitar a mason jar of dirt. Járnsaxa took it over to Farrah an Andante, as if asking for berries to be put with the dirt, like a garnish."Coffee is a blessing, yes, please," Mya said, standing up after giving Járnsaxa her dirt. She hesitated a moment though, giving Andante a little wave while thinking. Peppers? "I've never actually eaten peppers before. What are they like?" Peppers.... hmm, nope. Mya had some fake berry flavorings before, some salty and some sweet. Sometimes sour. She knew what salt and like, ground pepper was like. But actual peppers she had no idea.
She snapped back from the thought though. "Oh, yeah, I spelt great. Thanks again for letting us crash here." Fuji scaled down Farrah's leg to run over to Andante, also asking for berries, but for more berries than Járnsaxa!! Mya glanced at the baby pokemon and gave Andante an apologetic look. That poor pokemon.... then again it wasn't bad, Fuji was just a spoiled little pokemon. "Ah, the scales? I have like.... 50 baggies full now." Mya thought for a moment. "I don't know, I was considering weaving them into some sort of clothing or something. They are very tough scales so they could make a good protective cover. Plus they're pretty." Maybe a coat or a scarf like something dramatic like a side cape.... hmmmm.
At this point Eon walked over to Andante too, looking up at them with a grateful look for food. He picked up Fuji and held the screaming cyndaquil, trying to tell him to calm down and to be patient and polite.

Andante crouched down, gently picking up the mason jar from the Larvitar with an understanding nod and a low rumble of a voice. Farrah glanced over to the two Pokemon, nodding in understanding before looking back towards Mya. The Golett stood back up, and set the jar next to them on the counter, waving back at Mya as they finished roasting up the berry medley on the stove. They rumbled towards Farrah. Making a noise of acknowledgement back, the musician sidled around to grab a mug off the hanging rack by the coffee machine, pouring up a cup of it. "Preferences towards sweetener, anythin' in it? I usually go all plain but I keep things around for folks if they like."
They set another mug down too and tossed a tea bag seemingly at random into it before turning to lean against the counter and smile over at Mya. Never had peppers before, huh? This was going to be fun. "Spicy as hell. Or these ones are, anyway. They're crunchy and have a nice lil' snap to em even when added to the scramble, but flavor wise, it's like being a fire-type. It's flavor and fire in your mouth and your tongue." Farrah stuck their studded tongue out as if demonstrating before grinning. "I think I've got some mild ones, but the fresher ones are a bit hotter. Like a fire blast compared to an ember. But it's not all just burn. It adds a new layer of flavor to things. Like a kick in the ass in a good way."
As Farrah talked, Andante was finishing the berries off. They looked down to Fuji as the little child approached. If the Golett could make facial expressions it could be assumed that they had one of otherworldly parental patience. There were things that the golem had been created for. To protect. To guide. They'd decided Farrah had become the subject of those commands. Small children, human nor Pokemon, were none of these things, but Andante had been around long enough to know that youth was a passing tide and wasn't all that bad. They patted the little guy on the head as if affirming to their... rather loud insistent request, and then stood back up again. Andante also nodded a greeting to the Bagon. Their shoulders relaxed as he took care of the little one, turning back to the stove to begin dishing up breakfast for the Pokemon. The dirt in the jar was tossed in with one of the bowls until the berries were coated evenly for Járnsaxa. Eon seemed like a fellow growing at a fast clip... he got a healthy helping. And for the little Cyndaquil... artfully displayed to look much more than it was. It wouldn't do to overfeed the little one - it did more harm than help, sometimes. They then grabbed the bowls to hand out to the trio as given with a patient expression.
Farrah tilted their head back in interest. "Damn. That's a lot. They'd certainly give you some damn good fire resistance considerin' they're dragon scales. Sounds like quite a bit to work with into something nice, too. That'll be great." Farrah had plans to fashion the one that Mya had gave them into a necklace. They agreed that it was pretty - and with the versatility and usefulness of the scale as well, having it easily accessible on something like a necklace would make it easy to have on hand at any moment.

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Mya thought about it for a moment. "A bit of sweetener would be nice, thanks." Although, the talk of spice was... interested. Mya knew how it was described and what it was used for, but actually hearing about it from someone that ate it was interesting. Pff, Mya was tough she could handle it, no matter how hot it was. She gave a bit of a shrug. "I can handle it. I mean, how bad can it be?" Mya had taken punches, kicks, stomps... she wasn't going to be defeated by a little plant.Járnsaxa gave a thank you when the golett took her jar of dirt, waiting very patiently for her food. Fuji, however, was waiting impatiently but seemed to accept the understanding that he'd have more food than anyone else!! He struggled against Eon's grip but soon gave up and went limp, pouting quietly. Eon set Fuji down and took his bowl and the cyndaquil's bowl with a thank you before walking off and setting Fuji's bowl down. Fuji dug in, also determined on eating faster than anyone else. Eon, however, took his careful time, making sure to keep his claws as clean as he could. Járnsaxa took her bowl with a happy thanks and went to join her team, nomming on the dirt and berries happily. It was delicious! She gave her compliments to the chef, Eon doing so as well. Fuji was too busy shoving berries into his mouth to care, but both of the tougher pokemon thanked Andante for the little fire type. Mya nodded as she took a seat now, figuring that she'd be more in the way than any help. "Yeah, it'll be tough work but worth it in the end, ya know? I mean, not like Eon is using them anymore." She looked back at the bagon and frowned. He was fine, she just had to keep telling herself that.
"So, after we eat, where you wanna battle?" Mya hadn't forgotten the challenge. Járnsaxa hadn't forgotten either.

"Sure thing. Gimme a tick." Farrah turned back around to the counter, leaning up to open a cabinet and pull down a container, a spoonful of the contents of which they stirred into Mya's coffee before handing it over. "There we are. Hopefully it's fine. And... I suppose - if you're sure then." Farrah could respect Mya's ballsiness. Taking on hot peppers immediately despite having never had peppers before was gutsy. The musician loved the taste, but they'd also grown up with them because of the privilege of their birth.
They moved back to the stove as Andante finished up another batch of berries, sharing the space as they finished chopping the mushrooms - and now, one of the peppers... just one, though - and mixed it with some salt and pepper into one of the pans with a tiny bit of oil. The sizzle brought some smoky flavor into the kitchen aside from the smell of roasted berries. The musician hummed as she listened, before looking over their shoulder with a nod. "Absolutely. Hard work begets great rewards. And you're right. Once they're off of him, it's not exactly as if they're gonna go back on."
Andante waved their hand at the trio of Pokemon with what could be considered bashful body language, appreciating the compliments. They weren't sure they were all that great, but as long as the little ones enjoyed it, it was... satisfactory. Ready for breakfast, they plated up the rest of the berries and looked to Farrah, who cut themselves off from competition to whistle. "Oi! Up 'n at 'em, kids!"
Jazz the Sudowoodo appeared from where she'd been relaxing over by one of the windows in the living room across from the kitchen, accepting one of the bowls with a soft noise. She waved in greeting to Mya and co. before tapping Andante on the shoulder as she meandered back out. With a look of approval from Farrah, the ghostly golem followed the rock type out and into the living room. Farrah was just finishing the scramble and dividing it onto two plates as their other Pokemon slowly shuffled in. The musician paused to place the bowls down for Decibel and Elegy, the two canines looking half asleep and slumping over to nibble at the food. Decibel was much more delicate about it than the Houndour was, who mostly just cared about getting it in his stomach.
Mosh didn't join the group, but Farrah didn't seem particularly bothered by this. Instead, they took the kettle from off the stove and poured some of the hot water into their own mug, grabbed a couple forks and slid Mya's plate in front of her before sitting down too. "Bon appétit," Farrah raised her fork before taking a bite. "I was thinking perhaps the roof would be a good place for a battle. There's plenty of room up there despite the garden, and for your Larvitar there's plenty of soil and rocks to utilize. Should work well, I think?"

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker She took a sip of the coffee with an appreciative noise. Ah, caffeine. She sniffed the air when the smell of the peppers came through. Oh, that smelled delicious. Her stomach made a rather loud grumble. "Ah, yeah, the coffee is good, thanks. And those peppers smell great. I can't wait to try some." Had to enjoy the fine things when you had them. Mya just enjoyed running water that didn't smell like soil. Not that Famine's water was of poor quality! It was safe to drink it just had.... a certain personality, one should say. It was an acquired taste. Once you drank Famine water, you soon gained appreciation for water that had no flavor at all.Mya raised her cup in greeting at the sudowoodo, eyeing the.... tree? Was it a tree? Although, she smiled when the panda... Decibel, right? Came in with the cute doggo. They both looked so sleepy. Eon walked up to her, though, distracting her. He held up Fuji, who was clearly full. Mya wiped away the berry juice on the cyndaquil's mouth before recalling him into his pokeball. It was best to let Fuji digest before letting him wander around. She patted En's head fondly. "Hey, uh.... what's with the... tree? I've never seen a pokemon like that before. Seem nice." The only pokemon Mya wasn't sure about was that snake, but even then he seemed more grumpy than outright aggressive. Still, Mya would give him space and not ask about him. She was sure the pokemon was fine. She studied the plate when it was put in front of her, giving a curious sniff. Yup, smelled amazing. "Sounds good. Járnsaxa likes using the move Rock Throw so that would work out great. Not the best aim, but she makes it work somehow." Mya got some of the scramble up on her fork and took a bite. Oh wow, that was pretty good! It tasted great and- Mya cleared her throat and swallowed the food. She raised a fist to her mouth, knowing that her face was starting to turn colors. She took in a deep breath but that seemed to make it worse. Eon watched her with worried eyes, reaching up to pat her leg. "Bagon?" He asked. Mya waved him off. She was fine! She was- Mya coughed, ducking her face into her arm to hide her shame as she started to cough viciously. Eon seemed to wake up fully and looked at Farrah with an accusatory look. Járnsaxa even came over quickly, worriedly fussing over Mya and pulling at her boot. "Laaar!!" she cried. Mya waved them off again, still coughing. "I.... I'm fi.... aw fucking Arceus." She knew she was crying and her nose was leaking like crazy. But damn did that taste good!

"Spice is one of my favorite flavors," Farrah said conversationally. "I love the burn. Maybe that makes me a masochist, but the heat and flavor just really make something other flavors don't have. And spicy doesn't even mean just hot, either. It can be a lot of things." And oh, these peppers really did burn. Farrah had chosen the most mild ones they had, but they knew Posie had said this crop for whatever reason was much more... potent, than usual. But she reveled in the flavors that bit right back.
Elegy finished eating extremely quickly, licking his chops and cleaning himself of leftover berries as he slunk over to sit and press himself against Farrah's leg, giving off a big ol' puppy yawn. Decibel simply watched Mya carefully after sniffing the air. He was eating much slower and more delicately, though he picked up the pace a bit as he woke up. If he was smelling right... this was something he wanted to see. Farrah took another couple bites of their scramble before sipping at their tea. Their other hand reached down to scratch the Houndour behind the ear as they leaned back to see Jazz and Andante chatting in the other room. "That," Farrah said, "is Jazz. She's a Pokemon called Sudowoodo. Real sweetheart, loves helping me garden and sunning in the window. Easily the strongest Pokemon on my team by far. No offense to the rest of my partners."
And it wasn't even a lie. Now, did other Pokemon on their team have the majority in experience? Yes. Decibel had been battling far longer by now. But the fact of the matter was, not a single Pokemon on their team could quite stand up to Jazz in terms of just sheer, raw strength. It really was a shame Farrah couldn't use her in the gym due to the regulations.
As Mya took a bite of the scramble, Farrah carefully stood up and walked back over to the counter to grab a glass, keeping an eye on the other trainer as they did so. Elegy got up to follow and wound around Farrah's feet. "That sounds like a plan then, after breakfast?" And...... yep, there it was. Oh, dear. Maybe that had been a mistake. They dug into their fridge, looking for something before pulling out a carton. Nut milk... that was close enough. Wasn't the same as what real dairy would've been, but. It would probably help. They winced as their heard Mya coughing.
Grabbing a tissue, they walked back over and offered it for Mya to blow her nose. "Don't drink the coffee for a minute or you'll burn thrice as bad. Take a sip of this instead. Swish it around, don't swallow immediately." They filled the glass with some of the milk before putting the carton back into the fridge, all the while looking quite sympathetic and understanding. "Hang in there, you'll acclimate."

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Ooooooh dear fucking Rayquaza it burned. She was almost hesitant to bring her face out from the crook of her jacket at the expense of seeming weak, but Eon's distressed cries and Járnsaxa pulling on her pants leg told her she had to be strong... for them. Her eyes were watery and nose running, but she took the tissue and blew her nose before nodding at the instructions. Alright, yeah, that was fine. She took a sip of the nut milk an swished it around, trying to fight the urge to swallow to alleviate her burning throat. She dabbed her eyes with her other sleeve and sniffed, still holding the milk in her mouth.Mya reached down and patted Eon's head comfortingly and did the same to Járnsaxa, waving off their concern. She was perfectly fine! Mya finally swallowed the milk and sighed, taking a moment. "That shit is delicious," she finally said, sniffling slightly. "Aw, fucking hell." She wanted to eat more but was a little concerned about doing so. "How do you not eat this and sob each time?" Oh wait.... there was another question before all this. "Oh, yeah, and after breakfast sounds good." She coughed a bit into her jacket sleeve. She was feeling better now. it wasn't like... pain as much as it was just a pleasant burn that took her by sudden surprise. With a sniffle, Mya took another bite of the food. Yup, same experience, but at least now she could prepare for it, padding her leaking nose with the tissue and squeezing her eyes shut to try and stop the tears. She took another sip of nut milk. This seemed to be how breakfast was going to go. Take a bite, sip of nut milk, take a bite, sip of nut milk. Ah, the wheels of regularity sure do spin. Mya didn't take too long to finish the plate, opting for bigger bites between each swish of milk until it was clear. She downed the rest of the nut milk, noting the burn that rested in her mouth after. It was actually kinda pleasant.
"I love peppers," she said as she wiped her nose and eyes again and getting up to toss the tissue and rinse off her plate. "Thanks for letting me try them, even though I did think I was going to die for a hot minute." Aha, get it, hot minute? Yeah, ok.

Farrah sat back down and simply watched Mya, their head resting on a hand with an understanding smile. The kid was gonna be fine, she could tell. Elegy huffed and hopped up on his back legs to put his head in Farrah's lap. Farrah ran her hand through the dog's short fur, booping his nose gently between long pats. "Delicious it is," Farrah said. They chuckled as Mya finally came to a bit, before their expression dropped to one of stony neutrality. "It's because I have no soul, and so nothing can hurt me. I am impervious."
They snorted and shook their head. "Nah, it's because I've eaten 'em for years and I have a taste for it. Eventually you acclimate. It's probably likely that I was part fire-type in another life though, all things considered." That much was probably a lot more accurate than Farrah could imagine. Always a little spitfire, even as a kid. And yet, always drawn to the dark and mysterious, like Gladegloom. Farrah would probably live in those woods were they hospitable enough to allow it. Alas. They would just have to settle for constant hiking and camping trips up there instead, or hiding out when they needed to get away from people.
Farrah finished their own breakfast as Mya ate as well. Their own mouth was on fire, yes, but it was a pleasant burn that seemed duller, perhaps. It was just because Farrah was used to the taste afterall, and it had worn off on them after long enough. They nudged Elegy off their lap at some point, patting him on the shoulder as he got down. "Go get Andante to get our apartment key and head upstairs, okay kiddo?" With a little woof, the Houndour snuffled out of the kitchen towards the golem.
"Hah," Farrah snickered at the joke and shook their head as they stood up to help clear breakfast. "It's not a problem at all - feel free to drop by anytime and I'll make you new and varying things, yeah?" They cracked their knuckles as they set their cleaned plate aside on a rack to dry out. Decibel had stood up and stretched with a yawn before leaving the kitchen, and Farrah could hear him snuffling at the door. "Now that we've all woken up a bit... shall we head up to the roof? I think my team's absolutely rarin' to go." Farrah grinned. This was going to be fun.

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: N/A Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Aha. Farrah had a sense of humor. That was good. Mya already respected the musician enough as it was, but that was for sure an added bonus. Mya did have to take a moment to take a deep breath and wipe her eyes again, blowing her nose well before washing and drying her hands. While she loved peppers, they did have quite a kick, but Mya did not mind at all. Maybe she'd be able to find some or even buy some from that neighbor Farrah mentioned? It would be nice. "Oh, really? That's an great offer, yes. Thank you." Huh, this person was pretty nice. Good friend potential right there. Well, they had already put Mya up for the night and fed them but, still. It was nice to meet such a friendly and mellow person.
"Yeah! Yeah, we're good to go." Mya recalled Eon into his pokeball for now, leaving only Járnsaxa out and about. The larvitar looked up at Mya and gave a smile, seeming to flex and pat her little arm. She was ready to battle and show off her strength! Plus, this would be a great way for her to really expand her skills and talents. "Actually, even after this fight, I wouldn't mind if we met up and battled more often. It'd be good for us and our teams, I think," Mya said as she grabbed her bag and shrugged it over a shoulder. "Ya know, gaining battle experience and all that."
Járnsaxa made a noise of agreement at that. She didn't want this to be her only battle with Farrah and their team! It was important to battle all types. While Eon was a great battle partner, Járnsaxa also knew it was important to really get some skills and talents with all types of pokemon, eve those that could faint her in one hit. It was necessary!! To grow powerful!!

Following Decibel's lead and stretching themselves, Farrah grinned over at Mya as they walked to lean against the door of the kitchen. "Yeah, of course! It's always nice to get to cook for literally anyone but myself, so." And that was more than true. Past hookups? Not much for sticking around. And it wasn't like Farrah wanted them to anyway. Alfie couldn't stand Farrah's abhorrent love of burning spices and so they usually either ate out with the crew, or ordered in if they were hanging out. And Takara... perhaps Farrah should invite them over for dinner. Would that be seen as moving too fast? Hm...
They grinned at the Larvitar and her little flex. A tough girl! This was going to be fun. Andante and Elegy seemed to be already gone, but Decibel was still at the door looking at his trainer patiently with bright pink eyes. Farrah opened the door - and would hold it open for Mya until she and her team were through, before following and leading towards the rooftop access, Decibel shuffling about on their heels. "I would enjoy that quite a bit, actually. Having a team to spar with will help both of our teams continue to grow and test their strength out, right? Able to measure up to one another, too. Any time you want just gimme a ring and I'm more than down for it, and I can guarantee my kiddos are too."
Decibel let out something of a bark - it came out as more of a rather gruff, half-growl noise - in agreement as well, nodding towards Járnsaxa. He wasn't intending on fighting today, at least, but he was always down for a fight. No, today was a testing ground for the pup. Decibel... knew it wasn't going to be pretty. The little dog against a rock type? It was like picking a fight with Jazz on a bad day. But hey. If the kid wanted to be top dog, he had to learn how to grow and battle. And to grow and battle meant defeat almost as often as it meant victory.
The garden on the roof was absolutely rife with life. There were young berry trees growing in massive pots lining the area, some already budding with fruit, and one very tall tree of unknown fruit that had been harvested recently. There were also other planters and hanging pots filled with plants and life and of course, the bright red of the peppers stark against the other plants. And there were Pokemon all over, too. Dirty paw-prints were dabbled across the concrete from Pokemon meandering in the planters and walking across the garden, and decorative - and less decorative - stones were stacked up next to some soil bags. There were some bobbing little flowers within some of the plants too held onto by little fairy Pokemon; Farrah had seen them the other night too, and still didn't know what they were. There was a Spearow sitting on Andante's head from where they were sitting under the shade of a couple of trees, and Decibel sauntered over to flop over next to the Golett's legs to watch.
Elegy bounded up to them as they made it up to the garden with a low bark, his stubby tail going nuts and turning in circles. Farrah bent to pat him on the head, and then moved to take up residence on one side of an open area of the roof. There was more than plenty room, afterall. Belonging to an apartment building, it wasn't a particularly small area. "Elegy will be your opponent today. He's got a lot of energy and he's a bit untested, but I'd like to see what he's got." They whistled with a look towards the Houndour, and after a minute, he zipped over to stand in front of his trainer. "Feel free to claim what you like from the garden, by the way. It's communal for everybody who wants or needs it. Just let me know when you're ready, and we'll go ahead and begin!"
OOC: - Battle Uncommenced. Elegy has the higher speed and will move first. -

Cause We're Not Stopping Till We Break Through Action: Járnsaxa is ready to battle! Items Used: 0/3 Tracker Wonderful, that was an offer Mya would take advantage of. They'd have to get back on the road soon anyway. Plus, with her serious lack of funds at the moment, some food for the road that was on the house was a wonderful offer. "Thanks, I'll probably pick some after the battle. And also, just give me a text whenever you wanna meet for a battle sometime! It's not like I have anything else going on." She decided to leave Eon and Fuji in their pokeballs, if only because they might become a distraction. Eon had gotten into the habit of trying to offer advice to Járnsaxa during battles and--at some point--she'd have to stand on her own.
Today was a good day to test Járnsaxa's independence in fights. She could hold her own pretty well just on account of her typing, but when it came to a battle against another trainer, that was another thing entirely. The little rock type actually seemed interested in the plants around the place, sniffing the various scents. Mya decided to give her a bit to wander around and take in the sights. After a bit, Mya let out a whistle and Járnsaxa charged over to her spot, much closer than Elegy did. Her body was growing heavier by the day with the high quality soil Mya had been feeding her. Taking a tough stance, Járnsaxa let out a battle cry. It wasn't very terrifying given her general size and youth, but it held some power behind it. Already, she was eyeing potential weapons for her rock throw. There were some nice sized rocks up here, probably for decoration or weights. Shame they'd be thrown. But if worse came to worse, she always had her rock hard shell to depend on and her menacing gaze. No matter the outcome, win or lose! Járnsaxa was going to make Mya proud of her and prove all this work was not for nothing! "We're ready," Mya said, watching the battlefield carefully. She... still didn't quite understand the whole thing about battles but she was getting a lot better at it. Wild pokemon were one thing, but another trainer had new challenges entirely.

Farrah nodded once the readiness was confirmed. They eyed over the field carefully, looking Járnsaxa up and down before glancing at the stones, and then at Elegy. He was at a massive disadvantage here. It was highly unlikely they'd win the fight, especially at the current strength. But that was alright. Farrah wasn't here to win a league battle or go in all or nothing. This was a friendly match, a spar, and a very good way to teach Elegy how to be aware of his weaknesses, and the weaknesses of opponents with the advantage. It was also a way for Farrah to get Elegy to practice using fire attacks on an opponent who could easily stand up to them in a match.
"Elegy," Farrah called. The Houndour's ears perked up and then twitched to show he was listening. "I want you to watch Járnsaxa carefully this whole fight. Don't take your eyes off her. Observe. Watch how she moves and acts." They took a deep breath to relax, rolling their shoulders before smiling idly. There wasn't much point in bolstering his strength or weakening an opponent they stood no chance against, so full offense to train it was. They snapped a finger a moment later. "Now - move in quickly, get an Ember off!"
With a sharp bark, Elegy was off like a shot to meet Járnsaxa across the field. Heat billowed up in his chest, and he tried to will the flames up into his throat and mouth. Little sparks of flame dripped from the dark puppy's mouth, and he sprang up into the air. "Houuuuun!" He cried out, and with a sharp exhale, he spat the small burning embers towards Járnsaxa as hard as he could!
From a ways off over by the trees, Decibel and Andante watched the Houndour idly. They weren't too particularly interested in the fight - but they were wary of any damage being done to the garden. If Elegy caught anything on fire they'd have to put it out... and if any rocks came their way, they'd have to catch or deflect them, too.
OOC: Elegy uses Ember! He rolls a 7 for Accuracy.
