[googlefont=Grandstander] time: day weather: clear participants: Takara Wiltonbattle mechanics: none Maze start!Takara, you and your children Pokemon stand just inside the Lab's maze, a labyrinth of eight-foot plywood walls painted with spooky scenes and Ghost Pokemon. It's a nice day, which is good, because the maze is outdoors: one of the Lab's arenas has been repurposed to hold it. After cooing over your Pokemon (especially Orion), a Lab aide made sure to mention that any attempt to cheat by forcing your way through (or over) the walls will result in disqualification, and you'll lose all your candy. That's not the spirit of the game, after all. (Heh. Spirit.) As you enter the maze, you see short, empty alcoves to your right and immediately ahead of you. However, there is a corridor directly to your left, as well as an opening ahead of you and to the left. Which do you take? Be sure to also describe your team and their costumes in your first post! |

Choice: Corridor to the Right
Takara found it an easy time to dress up, past college Halloween parties and all that, so they simply took an outfit that they already had: a traditional vampire costume with teeth. But the real trouble was getting his pokemon dressed up!Shri had decided to go as a Galarian zigzagoon, having her fur painted with pokemon-safe paint. Bast had decided to be a magikarp for some reason, which took a trip to the costume store. So the shinx was dressed in a little magikarp costume with her face poking out of the mouth. Orion, on the other hand, tried to grab one of Takara's very heavy briefcases (heavy for a baby ralts, that is) and one of Takara's ties. So, Takara found a smaller briefcase meant for kids to give the ralts and let the ralts wear one of Takara's ties. Little Orion wanted to be like Takara, it seemed. Haha, cute. After thanking the lovely assistant and scooping Orion up in their arms, Takara started into the maze with Bast leading the way while Shri seemed to be a little... anxious. She stuck close to Takara's leg, always keeping an eye out. "Hmm, interesting..." Takara said. They turned left, Bast trotting in font, seemingly happy with the decision. Orion cooed and laughed as they went through, clapping his little hands in joy. Aw.

OOC note: I got my directions mixed up! Just ... reverse all the directions from the first post, sob. Corridor on the right, opening ahead and to the right, and dead-end alcove to the left. That said, the configuration is still the same, and you have chosen the corridor!
You head down the corridor to your right, taking a left turn not too far in ... and discovering yourself at your first dead end. Not the best start, perhaps, but you also locate a bowl of candy sitting in the dead end, finding +1 Quick Candy.
Turning around, you return to the maze entrance and realize that the opening previously ahead and on the right -- which is still on your right as you come out of the dead end -- is now your only option. Taking it, you find yourself in a very short stretch of corridor with an empty alcove on your left, an opening on your right, and a left turn at the end of the corridor.
Do you a) take the opening to your right or b) take the left turn at the end of the corridor?

Takara smiled and pocketed the candy, making note to make sure they understood what this candy did before giving it to their team. With that, they turned around and went back the way they came. Hmm, decisions. They thought for a moment, looking down at their team."Well?" They asked with a smile. Orion, seeming to take initiative which was... unusual, decided to march to that left turn. Takara followed with Bast and Shri at their heels, both of the slightly older pokemon keeping an eye on Orion. The little guy seemed to be gaining confidence. Takara did not know if this was a good thing or not.

Coming around the left turn, you find yourself at another intersection. You can either take the opening on your right, leading you to a corridor that ends in a left turn; this corridor also has an opening to the left and an opening to the right. Alternately, you could go straight, leading to a T-shaped intersection where you could go either left or right.
So, will you a) take the opening on the right and take the left turn at the end of that corridor; b) take the opening on the right, then go left; c) take the opening on the right, then go right; d) go straight, then go left; or e) go straight, then go right?

Choice: E. Straight then Right Turn
As they stood before all the choices, Takara considered the options. Hmm... it was a tough choice, wasn't it? "Bast, how about you pick a direction this time?" The shinx looked up at Takara and gave a nod, walking around a bit before settling on going straight and towards the right.
Takara followed, keeping an eye on Orion as he made his way ahead of them, now holding onto Bast's tail either so he didn't bump into the walls or get lost. Either way, it was adorable.

You go straight, but immediately discover that the right turn at the T-intersection is a short, empty dead end. At the end, a painted Gastly sticks its tongue out at you, as if mocking you. Meanwhile, to your left, the corridor quickly turns right.
Your options now are a) head left and take the right turn or b) go back and take one of the previous options.

Ah! How cute! Takara smiled and turned, looking back at their team before heading towards the left and that right turn. Orion stared at the image on the wall for a little while, as if trying to discern if it was an actual threat or just a picture, but Shri took his hand and carefully directed him to follow Takara and Bast.Catching up to them, Shri gave Bast a smile and kept a good hold of Orion's hand, the little ralts already starting to have some troubles, but not wanting to admit that he was tired yet! Takara would always carry him, but Orion was going to do his best!

Coming around the right turn, you find another right turn, which then leaves you in a relatively short hallway. On your left is an opening you could take; there's also a right turn at the end of this hallway.
Do you a) take the opening on your left, b) take the right turn at the end of the hallway, or c) go back?

Takara hummed a bit, watching their team before looking to Shri. She smiled up at them and, with Orion's hand still in hers, turned towards the opening to the left. Bast and Takara followed.
What a fun day! This was a good way to spend the holiday for sure, just taking the kiddos out for a walk... although Shri wasn't quite a kiddo anymore, was she? She was getting up there in size, that was for sure, but she was a growing pup! Takara wondered how old she was... or, how old she had been when she had been put in the pokeball.

Taking the opening on your left, the first thing you notice is that there's a dead end to your right with a bowl of candy in it. Score! +1 Tough Candy. Next, as you come out of that dead end, you realize that across the hall from it -- and a little to the right -- is an alcove with another bowl of candy, giving you +1 Mighty Candy. Nice!
Coming out of the alcove, you look around to decide where to go. To your left, this hall ends in a left turn. However, to the right of that path is an opening you could take. Straight across from you is an empty dead end. If you went right, you could take the opening next to the alcove where you currently stand, or you could go back the way you came.
So, your options are: a) go left and take the left turn at the end of the hall, b) go left and take the opening on the right, c) go right and take the opening next to you, or d) go back.

Oh! Two types of candy! Takara pocketed the stranger types of candy before gathering some regular candy for the team. They could enjoy it after dinner later. Now, there were choices to make! Takara considered, scooping up little Orion into their arms as the small ralts was growing tired. Shri and Bast also looked a little worn, but they could make it easier than the little ralts could. It had been a busy day at the office, after all.A hum and a consideration, Takara decided to go left and see about that left turn.

After the left turn, you follow the hall until it divides into two paths, one to your left and one to your right. Both paths, right and left, turn right -- from the perspective of someone walking down them; so, in opposite directions to each other -- immediately, so you can't really see very far down either of them.

More choices! Well, to be expected with a maze! That was all part of the fun! Takara shifted Orion in their arms and looked towards each option with an equal amount of fortitude before turning towards the left. Shri and Bast followed suit, the two pokemon having some sort of conversation behind Takara. The dog and the cat seemed to get along together swimmingly, but Takara did wonder if they just had a sub-conscious preference for blue things. Shri was blue, Bast was blue, Orion's 'shiny' form--as research had called it--was blue, Loki's 'shiny' was blue/purple... hm.Oh well! No time to consider!

Taking the left, you take the immediate right turn, then two more left turns in quick succession, in a little zig-zag that spits you out heading in the same direction that you originally were after you took the first left. You follow the hallway past an alcove where you find a bowl of candy and +1 Quick Candy, then around another couple zigzags until you discover that it's ultimately a dead end.
Then you head back, around all those zig-zags, to the intersection where you took the left. Your choices are now to go straight -- what was formerly the right path -- or to go right, back the way you came.
Do you a) go straight or b) go back the way you came?
