Sai plopped down onto the rock jutting out from the ground in the little cave they'd found. It looked like the rain had finally subsided, and most of Sai's clothes seemed to be dry, or mostly from the little fire they'd set up. A shiver ran through them as a gust of wind slipped into the cut out cave that'd been no doubt made by a pokemon at some point. Sai watched as it made the fire ripple, a ball of lead settling into their gut at the prospect of not having a fire. Looking over to Silver, who was fast asleep curled around Sais belongings, including their phone that lit up when Silver rolled in his sleep.
Padding over to the device, Sai was careful to not jostle the little Aron as they grabbed their phone, thumbing through their contacts, the few that were there, before settling on Kain. He was a...Sai hated to use the word 'Frightening', but honestly he was. He seemed nice enough though, still surprising Sai that he'd just given his number out like that. Pulling up the Message screen, Sai began typing;
[Sai] Hello, this is Sai Tsumori. I don't know if you remember me, but we battled a little while back. I had the Aron. This is Kain right?

Kain pulls his phone out, looking down at Torchic. "Hey little guy, it looks like we got a message...any guesses? I have no idea...we've got time before we get to Drakinhelm." Torchic responds by headbutting his leg. How should he know? He just wants another go at that big snake Mosh for Wrapping him...and that metal bastard Silver...for having the audacity of defeating him. He was more than ready now to take on the lump of sentient metal now. Kain opens his message, debating on messing with Sai, before deciding against it. He types up a response.
[Kain] Hey Sai, this is Kain. I remember you. Torchic remembers Silver too. He's been training hard. How are you? Have you caught any Pokemon yet?"

Sai jolted as their phone vibrated in their hands, nearly dropping it in their surprise. Fumbling a bit, Sai was able to keep themself from dooming their phone to a wet, muddy grave, letting out a quiet sigh when they secured it in their grip once more. Reading over the text, Sai grinned a little to themselves, remembering how positively feisty the little bird had been and how relieved both they and Silver had been when they'd manage to squeak out a victory.
[Sai] That is only slightly ominous, but he remembers you both as well. We have not been training as much as you two probably have, but we have caught a good handful of new friends. We have been alright, currently very waterlogged, but alright. How have you been? They paused to scroll through their camera roll, sending an image along with their message that featured Takeko the Sandshrew standing guard as Facet the Roggenrola, and Koda the Zubat rested on a pile of leaves.

Kain blinks, checking the picture repeatedly. He even restarts his phone to make sure he sees what he thinks he does. "Holy shit...good on you Sai." Upon hearing the name of his enemy's trainer, Torchic spits a ball of flame at the nearby rock face, grumbling. The wound to his pride still fresh in his mind. Kain appeases him temporarily with head scritches. "Who is the strongest fire chicken? You are! Now...let's find somewhere to camp for the night, yeah?" Once he finds a safe camping spot, he sits and types away.
[Kain] You caught a shiny? She is beautiful! No new pokemon for me yet, but we are headed to Drackinhelm in the morning to find some fire babies. I'm doing great!"

Sai is carefully paying attention to their phone, having snapped a few pictures of Silver while he slept, and not wanting to get startled again when it vibrates in their hands once more. Sai squints as they read the towns name, not quite remembering where its located. They knew it was across the mountains to the northeast, but beyond that they weren't sure. Scratching their cheek they thought up a reply, glancing over to the pokeball where Takeko was resting,
[Sai] Is that what she is? I knew she was different, but I was not sure why exactly. And oh, that sounds fun, will definitely give Silver trouble if we run into each other again. He may have won, but he is not pleased about how close it was, and that is good to hear. I do not really know any fire pokemon, except for yours, so hopefully you catch some!
