"You're alright y'know that lil guy?"
Cadin enjoyed this mudbray's presence, actually he enjoyed the fact that it was looking out for him the whole trek down the mountain. It felt nice knowing that he wasn't alone. He felt the pokeballs rattle in his bag against the spray cans and felt the electric synapses connect.
"Hey, you can join me for the adventure if you want? Having a lil buddy cart the art supplies around would be a real big help to the studio you feel me?"
For once in his life, Cadin completely forgot about the vandalism and the anger he stubbornly held onto and lived in the moment. Right here and now as Pinny blinked happily.

"Bray," Mudbray said, sounding friendly, as Cadin offered the Pokeball -- but it didn't touch the Pokeball. No, the life of a domesticated Pokemon was not for Mudbray, whose heart would only yearn for the open mountains. Besides, who else would look after travelers as they passed through these parts? Who else would make sure no one slipped and died on the winding mountain paths? Instead, Mudbray nuzzled Cadin's hand briefly, then turned and left, tail swinging behind it. This had been a pleasant encounter, but only an encounter; only a brief crossing of paths, as Mudbray and Cadin went their separate ways.
Capture failed! The wild Mudbray flees. (Please note in your next post whether you remain in the Mountains or move on to a new area.) You have 3/5 Safari balls. This is encounter 3/5. Current area: Mountains

"Ah...well goodbye then!"
Cadin smiled and waved at the mudbray now disappearing between the rocks, and turned around to a decrepit mansion with splintered wood looking like teeth against the darkening sky. For a moment, he felt guilty for what he set out to do. Cadin would spray a trail of paint wherever he went with reckless abandon but now...with pokemon in his life he stopped to think for a minute in the overgrown front lawn that he should stop. Though if he did where would his anonymous persona go that he became known for in the street art world. This would be a daring stunt by the mysterious Candied Eye right under Silph Co's nose! How did they slip past security, was it a planned publicity stunt? Who is this cryptic street artist?
He was lost in thought while being embraced by the cool grass looking up at twinkling stars. Pinny looked up and saw a world much bigger than she could possibly imagine, and blinked her spines to mimic the flaming balls of plasma in the vast distance.
"It what I'm doin' wrong Pinny? I mean, I don't wanna hurt anyone and I'm not! Yet something feels off about this whole...thing I'm doing you know? This whole 'street cred' persona, the artist with an attidude, Am I just trying to be edgy to feel like I belong?"
He sighed, and got no answer from Pinny who was also deep in thought trying to find an answer to a nebulous question. The eerie wind blew over them both there in the abandoned lawn.
OOC: Cadin goes to the Old Mansion!

Once Cadin stepped towards the Old Mansion, he found himself stopped short, running into an invisible barrier. Silently, a Pokemon rose out of the gloom. Mr. Mime had sensed Cadin's intent -- oh, it didn't fully understand the idea of "graffiti," but it knew that Cadin was doing something that he himself suspected to be wrong. So Mr. Mime decided that its only choice was to protect its home and stop Cadin from going any further. Now, with Cadin halted by its barrier, Mr. Mime wagged a finger at him, its bulbous fingers and body contrasting with its long, thin limbs. It bounced in place as it awaited Cadin's reaction.

Cadin stood perplexed by the invisible barrier. and so did Pinny as she waved her spines in curiosity. It wasn't until the Mr.Mime wagged its finger at him did the cogs fit together in the delinquent's mind. He was at first mad at the pokemon, but as he felt the weight of the spray cans in his bag he could feel the angel on his shoulder nagging at him. Cadin looked down at his feet, then back at the pokemon, and then sheepishly curled inwards from the guilt.
"Can't hide anything from psychic types huh. Fine. You got me, happy now?"
His cheeks turned red and his voice cracked behind the flimsy punk façade. Little by little the persona that Cadin had spent so long meticulously crafting for himself chipped away until he eventually was playing with the Mr.Mime. Jokingly mimicking it and pantomiming together between the invisible barrier, and a wide smile shone through.

Mr. Mime watched Cadin's reaction with satisfaction. It was happy to see that it had stopped the human in his tracks and made him regret his intent. Now its home was safe ... but what to do with the human on the other side of its barrier? When Cadin started to play with the barrier, Mr. Mime laughed -- not aloud, silently, but its body language was highly expressive as it slapped its belly and shook with laughter. It hadn't expected to like this human, but it really appreciated his ability to play along! Clearly he understood Mr. Mime well, far better than it had expected from a stranger. Amused, it began to show him a more complex mime, pretending it stood at the edge of a cliff.
The Mr. Mime seems very pleased by your action! You have 2 more actions before you must either attempt a capture or move on. You have 3/5 Safari balls. This is encounter 4/5. Current area: Old Mansion

Cadin's laughter shook off the stiff exterior he'd been carrying for so long, and even made him tumble back onto the grass. He wiped the water out of his eyes and eventually rolled onto his feet, remembering the clacking of the safari balls in his bag.
"Oh! Right, forgot that I had these. Feels wrong taking you from this place, seems like you do a lot of important work here protecting your friends...now I think I get this whole pokemon thing! Or, well at least I'm starting to. If you want, you can come with. Though I won't force you to if you dont want to. All the pokemon I meet here in this reserve have been nothing but nice to me."
Cadin rolled the pokeball in an open palm and looked behind the Mr.Mime into the abandoned mansion staring back into him through pitch black windows and fleeting visions of eyes passing through the shattered glass.

Watching Cadin laugh made Mr. Mime laugh -- silently, still, but soon it was rolling on the floor laughing, just like Cadin. When Cadin recovered and held out the Pokeball, though, Mr. Mime paused to consider the offer. It did like this human ... but no. As Cadin had guessed, Mr. Mime was needed here, as a steward of the mansion. It was its job to keep the place (relatively) clean and orderly, and to look after the other Pokemon -- especially the young ones. So, regretfully, Mr. Mime shook its head and waved the Pokeball away. Then, seeing that the threat of Cadin tagging the mansion was gone, it waved farewell and headed back inside.
