The westernmost chain of islands in the Northern Gulf, the Exegg Islands were aptly named for the Exeggutor that were once commonplace. There are still a few old cabanas and campgrounds on the islands, but for the most part, the tropical locale has been reclaimed by nature. Despite being located further north than other islands, these isles sponsor the region's rain forest. It does get a bit nippy at night and during the winter, but the forest is protected by the ocean's wind and the pokémon seem to thrive here.
Cracked Egg Island The northernmost island, named for its sharp edges and offshoot isle like the shards of an Exeggcute’s eggshell. While palms are commonplace all over the islands, Cracked Egg is mostly grassy, full of long grasses that sway like ocean waves, beautiful flowering bushes, fruit trees, and large ponds. It is a meadowy paradise – and the campgrounds that dot across the fields are still salvageable. Common: 1 - 42 Day / Clear: 1 - 11

Frond Island The center island, named for its broad coastlines that look like the frilled fronds on both palm trees and Exeggutor alike. Grassy meadows give way to dense jungle on the island, populated by massive squat palms, ferns, tropical flowers and vines, and an almost oppressive humidity. There are no resting points on the island; there are, however, still well worn footpaths that haven’t gone quite overgrown, especially in recent days. Common: 1 - 44 Day / Clear: 1 - 11

Tall Palm Isle The southernmost island, named for the way in which its massive size and towering palm trees rivaled the equally massive Alolan-native varieties of Exeggutor that lived there. Once a vacationers’ getaway, rundown cabanas still dot the white beach coastline, though nobody has really used them in years. The jungle palms stretch to the sky, creating a web of vines and tall tropical flowers that dance in the breeze. There are dozens of cliffs and hills across the island, making for excellent hideaways and Pokémon dens in the lush thicket. Common: 1 - 50 Day / Clear: 1 - 14

Area Map and Lore This once popular vacation spot was used for vacations all year round in Deprin. Despite being in the northern part of the region, and only a few hundred miles away from the coldest mountains, the Exegg Islands host a diverse and healthy rain forest. The storms of the Northern Gulf push a lot of humidity to the islands, and the chill winds surrounding the mountains keeps the humidity in place. Add in the naturally warm currents that surround the islands, you get beautifully thick and warm jungles that are neither too hot nor too cold. Even the water is comfortable enough to swim in year round. Despite the years without pokémon, people still came here to camp sometimes. This is why some of the campsites are still in usable. It's a rather fun and exciting place filled with beautiful sights, and now, wildlife. |
