The Safari Zone Rules and Regulations | ||
I. The Safari Zone Lore Deprin's Safari Zone is the region's national park, created by Salve Co. to offer a safe haven for all types of pokémon without concern for human intervention (save for humans protecting the area and ensuring it remains healthy and habitable). This large expanse of land stretches across areas once deemed far too dangerous for humans to travel since the disappearance of pokémon. Now that pokémon are back, a route that once stretched across this land has now been moved partly underground to leave the natural environment above untouched... There are several buildings positioned around the very edges of the Safari Zone, acting as a place for visitors to obtain visitor passes or rest from their travels. Each building is prepared with communal sleeping areas, bathrooms and showers, restaurants and cafés (that serve local cuisine based on the building's location), a Pokémon Center, pokémon daycare centers, and large lounges outfitted for the comfort of humans and pokémon alike. Currently, there is an expert group of trainers that patrol the Safari Zone's expanse. These trainers are the region's Pokémon Rangers. Their purpose is to ensure the safety of people and pokémon, putting the environment above human enjoyment. Should anyone break the strict rules of the Safari Zone, the Pokémon Rangers would see to their capture and permanent banishment from the Zone. They also keep people safe in time of natural disasters, always ready to respond to get people and pokémon that are in over their heads out of harm's way. It's because of the Rangers that the Safari Zone, despite its size and natural danger, is safe for people to explore. The real mystery of the Safari Zone is why it was made. The cost of it alone was reported to be several billion dollars, and it continues to be a major sink on Salve Co.'s resources. Yet money continues to flow from the company into the public project and--other than paying the Rangers and maintaining the buildings--the company is hands off, leaving most decisions up to the Rangers and those that run the Zone's welcome centers. The board members have done interviews in the past where they have expressed their dissatisfaction with the project, but it seems it is over their heads to stop. Attempts to try and speak to the CEO have failed, too, with only a message from their secretary stating the Safari Zone is a real passion project for the CEO and they'd prefer people focus on the good it's doing rather than where it came from and its continuous non-stop funding. The Zone does take donations, but each and every donation goes right back into the Zone to maintain it's natural beauty and give proper pay raises to the Zone's employees. The spending records and tax documents are posted for anyone to read as well--a very strange practice coming from the region's monopoly giant. To make the Zone even odder, the rarest pokémon are appearing in the environments before slowly spreading into the rest of the region... it seems the cycle of pokémon is continuous over time, with even rumored fossil pokémon appearing in the area. Not even the board members seem to know what's going on, and the Rangers aren't talking. The only message from the CEO's office, when asked by reporters is, "I fail to understand exactly why you are so keen on caring when we should just be happy that once extinct life has come back to the region. Please, considering donating to the Zone to maintain it's upkeep and maybe see if you can befriend one of these rare pokémon!" II. The Safari Zone Guidelines I. There is no battling in the Safari Zone. This includes any roleplay threads with other players. II. The Safari Zone consists of multiple locations. During roleplay only threads, please try to ensure you are following semi-liquid time. You cannot go from the beach to the peak of the Zone's mountains within one post. III. The pokémon of the Zone--and thus it's encounter tables--will change over time, more so than any other area in the region. You do not need to pay attention to this during your roleplay threads if you do not want to. IV. The pokémon of the zone are, oddly, very non-violent. They may be aggressive at times, but they will never outright attack. You can have them do so if you wish in roleplay only threads, but remember that your pokémon are forbidden from battling. V. The Safari Zone never closes. It is a national park, but if you wish for the centers to post warnings due to weather or close trails for the sake of your roleplay threads, feel free! III. The Safari Zone Encounter Regulations You can request an encounter at the Safari Zone in the Safari Zone Encounter and Review Request. Before doing so, please ensure you understand all the following regulations. Please contact staff with any questions. I. You cannot have a regular encounter (staffed or self-moderated) at the same time as a Safari Zone encounter thread. This is to ensure staff do not get overwhelmed with running encounters or reviewing them. II. You can only have a SZ encounter thread once every two real life weeks. The cool down begins once your current SZ encounter ends. This means that, the day your encounter ends, you cannot request another one for two weeks. III. You are only allowed to take one pokémon into the Zone with you during threads. This pokémon cannot battle and this is the only pokémon on your team that can use the SZ encounter thread for level-up requirements. Your other pokémon will be taken care of at the Zone's center. IV. While your pokémon is forbidden from battling, they can use move as long as there is no intention to cause harm. For example, your Charmander can spit embers at the feet of another pokémon to try and to scare them or warn them not to come closer. V. You will only encounter five pokémon total. Once the last pokémon flees or is captured, you will have a chance to close out the thread and the encounter will end. VI. You have three actions per encounter. These actions can be anything and are not subjected to any strict rules, but each post during an encounter requires a clear action. Once you use your three actions, you have to either leave the pokémon be or throw a pokéball. Staff track how many actions you have made per encounter.
VII. Self-moderated SZ threads are possible, but they must adhere to every single rule very strictly. Staff will be checking these threads with a fine-toothed comb as well. Please ensure you follow all self-moderated encounter rules as well as the rules above. If you have any questions, please contact staff! We are happy to help. |
