Salve Co. Lore and Information | ||
Deprin's monopoly covers several blocks of Port Belleview's land, housing most of the town's independent shops, cafes, and bistros that pay rent to the company for the space. Half of the city's public transportation is specifically designed to get people into the Salve Co.'s blocks, as they employee a majority of the city. These blocks contain Salve Co.'s original location: The Salve Hospital and Urgent Care. Now, it also contains labs, warehouses, and office buildings. The largest building is one that towers over all the others, sometimes its top vanishing into the clouds. This is the main headquarters that has expanded over the years, housing a majority of its office workers and its entire corporate office. This is also where the reclusive CEO's office is, along with those of the ever rotating board members. For the main building, the bottom floor is open to visitors and those interested in applying for jobs, but the higher floors are off limits for non-employees. Even then, every employee has an access pass. Only those of the highest ranks are allowed on higher floors and certain rooms. Area Map and Lore Salve Co. began as a hospital and urgent care, working on the side to create better medicine for humans since pokémon already had their miracle cures from potions and antidotes. Humans were more complicated. Yet when the Rapture happened, the hospital became flooded with people that suffered from injuries on construction sites or from sailing accidents. Without pokémon, the world was going straight to hell. And Salve Co.'s leadership stepped up. They began to quickly expand and the rest is history. Various CEOs and board members over the years have pushed the company's focus in various locations. The original CEO started to collect seeds to freeze in hopes of one day bringing all the crops and plants back that depended on pokémon, others expanded in energy. It did not take long for the company to become Deprin's largest monopoly, using its wealth and public image to crush competition as it rose. Now, most things are operated by Salve Co. Curiously, though, things at the company have taken an odd turn. A few years ago, a new CEO took over, but no one has seen or heard them. The board members, who are public, seem to rotate out every few months. The company even sunk--and continue to sink--billions of dollars into the Safari Zone and, as far as anyone can see from public records, the Safari Zone is a money hole and doesn't make Salve Co. anything. Not only that, but the mysterious Salve Island went up in flames a few months after pokémon returned to the region. All attempts to ask the CEO about this or the company's plans moving forward have all ended with a polite letter that always dodges the questions. Who knows what's going on in the executive officer's head... |
