Grey Seelie ───── ◈ ───── | ||||||||
Though the Pokemon was no longer in sight, the adrenaline of coming face to face with the beast was at its peak. This was nothing like his encounter with the Abra; much less the aloof Slowpoke from the beach. The solid, metal sphere hurled itself about the room - though little was left to be broken in the ravaged lab, the luxury ball left dents in nearly every surface that it collided with. Grey took a single step backwards through the doorway, feeling as though he could've lost his balance at any second due to his jelly-like legs. He extended his arm and rested his palm against the left wall of the corridor. Shade, however, had an entirely different reaction: watching the mayhem, she couldn't help but snicker. While Grey was anxious, Shade sensed the futility of the massive Pokemon's resistance. Seeing the ball knock fragments of wood and glass into the air only served to stoke her mischievous laughter. After some time, the luxury ball came to a stop on the ground. It hadn't even locked yet when Shade had already begun to walk towards it - her amusement having ended after the Pokemon's struggle had ceased. Click. A tension lifted from Grey's being. A long exhale escaped from his body before he began to take steps towards the locked ball, making sure he retained his footing. Shade, having gotten a reasonable head start, reached the luxury ball first. She touched it with her slender, sharp fingers, before picking it up in both hands and lobbing it to Grey. He wouldn't have caught it if it hadn't landed directly on his chest - he wasn't sure how Pokeballs really worked, but he was definitely glad that he didn't drop the ball whose vacancy was now filled by a raging beast. Grey couldn't help but feel as though this excursion was coming to its end. Did he really want to stay on the island after such a dangerous encounter, anyways? Still coming down from an adrenaline high, little was on his mind as he turned to leave the lab, forcing Shade to dash over and catch up. Upon reaching the exit, he heard the bellow of a ship in the distance. That was his cue. Over the course of his walk through the forest and back to the beach, his mind slowly came back to him. The guilt that had briefly been present was now gone. 'I did it.' He let his success sink in. 'This Pokemon - whatever it is - is mine now. Maybe this really is my destiny,' he thought, remembering his initial motivation for embarking on this journey in the first place: to live up to the prestige of his Pokemon-training ancestors. 'I don't know what I'm gonna do, but it'll be great.' ───── ◈ ───── The Team: Sableye // Level 1 // Female
