Everyone knew what Salve Island was. It was an island owned by Salve Co. and it... well, that was it! It was private property and no one was allowed on its shore without explicit written permission from the company and it's hundreds of lawyers. Until now, that is. The ship was making its way towards the island with a single passenger, the newest trainer allowed to go to the mysterious island even in this horrible storm. The waves were tall and powerful, the wings fierce and angry. Some people had tried to get to the island with their pokemon after the explosion... not all of them had been found and now it was obvious. The weather that surrounded the island was deadly and there was hardly a fish or bird in sight. The ship was able to come to dock at the rotting wooden pier and the rules were clear: capturing pokemon was encouraged but trainers should avoid causing any harm to them if possible and there was a three hour limit. The moment the ship sounded its horn the trainer must return or be forcefully dragged off. The storm outside showed no sign of relenting... well, better now than never! A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

As the storm rages on, the passenger in question remains below deck, unwilling to be out in the squall and in the sailors' way. He sits slumped in his seat, at what looks like a particularly uncomfortable angle for his back, thumbing idly down a newsfeed on his phone. His legs are spread out a bit more than might be proper, but the space is filled by a Pokemon settled between his feet, sliding slowly back and forth with each violent rock of the boat. He scrolls down his phone screen once more. Another violent slosh of water crashes over the ship. The round pink Pokemon looks up at her trainer and chirrups at him, concerned.
"I dunno, Belle," Arris sighs. He puts his phone away in his pocket and lets his hands slump down limply so that he can pet the Bounsweet's head. "This whole thing does kind of seem like a bad idea..." She peeps at him again, shoving against his knee, and the man hums at her, shifting to sit up. "I mean - there was the terrorist attack, and then that explosion, right? And that really riled folks up and a few folks have died trying to get out here, and now Salve is like - just... inviting a select few to come on down like it's no big deal despite that? Like... hey, c'mon over, catch some Pokemon, go on safari, there totally hasn't been crazy shit goin' on and we totally aren't gonna take you out back behind the shed and shank you at the nearest opportunity, it's fiinneeee."
He shrugs a shoulder. Arris has been obsessing over this all morning - even before he got through security and put on a ship. Everything has just been so crazy, lately. Sensing his anxiety, Belle nibbles at his fingers and shoves against him, hard. "Hey," he says, and then pauses as he catches sight of the hand. There's nothing abnormal about it - it's Arris' ungloved hand. Pretty handy. But it's not the hand he notices - its the bracelet that now sits just above his watch. The fingers of his other hand run over the weaved colors of white, pink, and blue, and it offers him the same sense of comfort and courage that the person who gave it to him does. 'You're a dumbass, but you're my dumbass,' Mya had said, and then punched him in the arm. 'But thanks for trusting me. Have pride in yourself, man. Do what makes you happy, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And if anyone tries, tell me and they fuckin' won't. Got it?'
Arris chuckles at the fond memory, and then grins at his partner as the Bounsweet bounces up into his lap. He hugs her, and she trills at him, pleased his smile has returned. "Nah, you're right sweetheart. Mya said to be bold, and fortune favors the brave or bold or beautiful or whatever--" He's cut off by the call to disembark, and a very sudden lurching of the boat. He grins a little wider, and scoops his beloved partner Pokemon up into his arms as he stands. "And I do believe this is our stop!"
The poor dock is in some of the worst condition Arris ever seen from his time working at Belleview's docks - but he wills himself to overlook it as he listens to the rules one last time and disembarks. He makes it a ways down the beach, the wet sand firm under the soles of his shoes, Belle clinging desperately to his arms in the wind, before he finally pauses. The two extra Pokemon he calls out a moment later take to the storm a lot better than the poor Bounsweet does. Pepper is displeased, at first. The Pikachu shakes the rain out of his fur and huffs until he feels the crackling electricity of the storm, and of... something, and perks his ears up, clambering up to his usual spot at Arris' shoulder. Skipper - one of Arris' newest teammates, has no such problem at all. The Piplup chirps happily at the rain crashing down, spinning about with glee. Both Pokemon look at Arris as he clears his throat. "Okay! We made it safely, guys! Keep close to me since the weather's pretty bad, alright? The trip was pretty rough, but we're lucky to be here. It's time to be bold, go explore and make some new Pokemon friends. C'mon, let's go make the most of it!"

Day || Storm
The stormy beach was not barren. In fact, there was plenty of debris of stone here. Either washed up during storms or from someplace else--most likely the explosion, but the pokemon that had claimed this beach as its own didn't care where they came from. The sound of strong attacks hitting stone and denting metal filled the air not too far from the dock as the pokemon darted through the debris like its own personal gymnasium. A flash of red as the pokemon used its faux wings to glide a short distance, eyeing a rock that was now its sworn foe as it dived, sharp talons coming out as they slashed with lighting speed against the rock, resulting in a natural sharpening of the already deadly knives. In a show of power, the hawlucha jumped onto the defeated rock and struck a pose, the lighting flashes behind him in a display fitting of a fighter of his esteem... it was different training now, though. There were no wires hooked onto him or strange injections, no expecting to run on treadmills or punch punching bags while being measured and tested. He never understood the strange injections, though, various vials of strange fluids that would slow him down or speed him up... He preferred to fight without the need of such aids. But this was more freeing. The ability to train the way he knows best, to practice his speed compared to his sheer strength. For it took a real fighter to have both good defense and offense, but neither were worth anything without true speed to pull moves off. The hawlucha put a curled talon to their beak in thought, grumbling to themselves on how to best to back through the course and use the harsh winds to his advantage. Maybe trying to swim the waves would be a good idea or- He opened his eyes in time to see the human and... one, two, three!? Three pokemon. In a start, the hawlucha nearly slipped off of the rock, but managed to catch himself as he came down from the rock in a salute. Ready for the test, doctor! Or... wait... the hawlucha did a double-take. This human didn't have any lab coat or clipboard or any strange devices... they were just... here? How unusual. The hawlucha crossed his arms, giving the human and his team a worried look. This was no place for uninvited guests. The island was even more dangerous now that the lab was gone. Strange pokemon wandered these woods and the skies above. The hawlucha had a theory that some of them were actually causing the bad weather but... that was just a conspiracy. Everyone needed at least one! " Hawlucha," he says with a tone in his voice not much unlike an older boxer looking at a young pup that had entered the ring with no idea the pain that was coming. " Lucha." He pointed back to the dock with one of his sharp claws, using the other arm to wave towards the sky and shake his head. " Lucha cha." This was not a place for humans, not anymore, and if the man valued his life and that of his pokemon, it would be smart to leave. " Cha!" The Hawlucha put a fist to his chest and began a march towards the docks. A private security detail to get there safely! A Wild Pokemon Appeared!
