SUMMERHILL VACATION Time of Day: Midday || Weather: Clear
|
The sound of rustling leaves and the rush of air flooded through the cozy little food court in Summerhill's central square. Aloe clung to the harness of the Tropius descending by a small stall, carefully helping the leafy Pokemon descend without spilling the contents of the crates strapped to the side of its saddle. A long exhale escaped his lips- flying was something he'd never quite get used to, it was equal parts exhilarating and downright terrifying. "Whew. I- I appreciate your help, Tropius!" After his legs stopped shaking, Aloe rewarded his family's Pokemon with some gentle scratches to its head. The tropical dinosaur crooned, lolling its head to get its human friend to scratch under its chin.
"I know, I know, you goof. I got to unload our deliveries real quick, then you can head back to mom and dad- I can bring you home some of your favorite greens as a treat for helping us out, alright? I, uh, can walk the way back though, h-haha..." The tropius perked up immediantly at the mere thought of treats, eagerly plopping onto the ground and fanning its wings upwards to let Aloe access its cargo. He carefully unhooked one of the crates, just barely managing to hold the heft of the wooden box and all of the homegrown fruits inside. The physical labor of farmwork was something he never quite got used to...
While Aloe was occupied with organizing their goods at the drop-off box beside the empty stall, a smaller pouch buckled around the Tropius' side rustled. Beady green eyes peeped out of the parcel, curiously watching the human. The flap of the bag glowed faintly as it was telekinetically flipped open, allowing a small Elgyem to peep out of hiding and curiously eye his surroundings his trainer. Aloe was preoccupied with hauling a box of watermelons with shaky arms, but a little psychic nudge was just enough to give the poor human enough of a boost to haul it inside the store's back doors.
"T-thank you! I'm going as fast as I can, I-I promise!" Aloe gratefully called back from afar. Doppler buzzed back in response, before turning back to look across the town square. The air was full of delicious scents Doppler had never smelt before. He leaned a bit further out of hiding. Aloe was going to be occupied for awhile. Maybe he could just check out what was next door to see if they had anything good to ask his human to get...
Hovering into the air with his scarf fluttering about behind him, Doppler quietly hovered into the open while the Tropius was busy preening its leaves. He looked both ways before floating out from the side-street and into the open, trilling softly as he turned the corner to venture into the town. Aloe's home was a peaceful place- the most threatening things around were the occasional pesky Nickit. It was improbable that his curiosity could lead him to anything dangerous- right?

"Even if it's not your fault, it's your responsibility." -Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky And I scream at the top of my lungs, "What's going on?"
A visit to a marketplace was a good introduction to more people and pokemon. Though it had to be very carefully done. The poor Null had suffered enough at the hands of people, but Takara was confident that being around people and pokemon working together would be just the introduction to larger society that Cassiel needed. The Type: Null was sitting at attention by Takara's chair, eyes scanning the marketplace as people and pokemon worked in harmony, some shopping together and sharing laughs. Each screech of a young child caused the Null to sit up straight, claws at the ready to attack and defend, but each time Takara helped sooth Cassiel's rising fur.
Shri sat across from Takara, the Lucario sipping her tea with the same dignified posture and care that a noblewoman may have. Her previous trainer well over 80 years ago had taught her proper manners as a young riolu, after all. Orion the kirlia was far more interested in the various goods being sold, carrying Takara's wallet with him as he purchased various things, plenty of shopping bags floating around him. He had no concept of the value of a dollar, but it wasn't like Takara seemed to mind.
"See? It's nice!" Takara said softly as they put their to-go cup of coffee down, looking at Cassiel's curious movements. "People and pokemon together! It is possible." Takara hummed as he spotted a... what was that? He held up his phone and activated the pokedex app. He scanned the information with a knitted brow.
"Elgyem... aw, it's cute! I wonder if it has a trainer..." he trailed off as he watched Orion walking around window shopping more than looking where he was going. Oh dear.
Takara was about to say something to his kirlia, but the pokemon managed to spot the Elgyem before accidentally walking into them! The dancer jumped back in a start, the shopping bags floating behind him as Orion looked very much startled! Shri looked up, eyes narrowing as she quickly assessed the situation. There was no harm... therefore he would continue to enjoy her tea, but that didn't stop her eyes from flashing briefly as she studied the auras of the area... no, nothing dangerous around...
With a sigh, Takara stood up and patted Cassiel on the helmet, as he carefully approached the Elgyem and his kirlia. "Hello! Sorry about that, Orion can get a little lost in his thoughts... are you lost, little buddy? Do you know where your trainer is?" They tried to approach carefully, gently, even trying to shrink a bit to not be frightening. Takara wasn't dressed in a nice suit today, and instead in his signature sweat pants and tank top with a black hoodie. If anything he looked like someone that maybe just rolled out of bed this late in the day. Orion moved closer to Takara, reaching up to take one of their hands as they hid behind the human, peeking out. Orion had come a long way from a shy ralts, but he was still a bit shy to anything new.
