"Even if it's not your fault, it's your responsibility."
-Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky
And I scream at the top of my lungs, "What's going on?"
The snow was coming down very gently, perfect for Aspermont's sunset which was trying to burst through the clouds in the distance. The view from the restaurant's private dining chamber was beautiful. It was up on part of the mountain nearby, overlooking the town and its nearby lake. Thankfully, it was nice and warm in the five-star, expensive location, but Takara didn't quite mind the cost for such a thing as this. In fact, despite being in a private dining room, the entire restaurant had been reserved. The only people there were a handful of chefs and waiters. All of them being paid well above their usual rates for today--the others also getting hand delivered with a gift basket of fancy chocolates, cookies, cheeses, and crackers.
The ones that were also here, though, were bound by a very strict agreement. But that was neither here nor there. Takara was just waiting patiently with a cup of steaming coffee, watching the snow fall as his pokemon snoozed at his feet. Cassiel had finally relaxed at Takara's feet, dozing off into a very light sleep. Bast was also laying down, but she was watching the doors to the private room. Shri was outside the restaurant, deciding it was better she waited outside for their guest. The snow didn't bother her, but still, Takara had forced her to take his jacket and scarf to wear. She thought she looked ridiculous, but if it made them happy... she was a steel type, the cold didn't bother her all that much. She sat on a decorative boulder, eyes scanning the roads that lead up to the mountain-based restaurant.
It all started when Takara reviewed footage from the island and the visitors. It was not their intention to spy, but they had to be careful given the nature of some of the pokemon that lived there. And their promise to Cassiel. That was why they were here, waiting to see if one of the newest trainers of a Type: Null responded to an invitation to come here and talk about the pokemon that they caught in the woods.
Takara had kept the research on the Nulls, of course, but they knew such papers could not be given to just anyone. And from Takara's research and the work of their own hired detectives, this Devereux fellow seemed trustworthy. A proper partner for a pokemon that needed such special care and respect.
If their guest didn't show then... well... at least the staff got well paid and a free meal of anything they wanted. If the restaurant owner got angry, well... it wasn't like they could tell Takara no. Besides, the union pamphlets from the Deprin Restaurant Worker Union was a fascinating read with a little note of Takara's full legal and financial support should the workers decide to join the union.

And I pray every single day for a revolution
