He nodded cautiously at her words. "Uh... Hi Sneasel... How... uh... How're you doing? Glad to... to be out of that ball after all those years?" He asked. This. Felt very weird and quite awkward. She looked up at him when he spoke with a tilted head, and flicked her red feathered ear. "You certainly seem... pretty curious..." Sebby looked up at the professor to silently ask if this was how he was supposed to do this as his pokemon got closer, then stood on his feet to look up at him closer. Then once more climbed up, but paused on his chest and clung to it comfortably. Seb winced in slight pain. "Uh.... Hi.... Uhmm............" He didn't know what to do anymore. This was awkward. He was awkward.

Professor Yew "She's certainly responding," the professor said encouragingly. "I think she likes you."She'd decided it was a good sign that the Sneasel had chosen to rest on Sebastian's chest. "She seems comfortable with you. Why don't you tell her where you plan to go from here?" The professor smiled. "You can tell me as well, in case there's anything I can help you with."
Professor Yew considered for a moment, then added, "You may want to try thicker clothes, if she's going to get in the habit of climbing on you. Layers, maybe. Or you could try to train her not to, of course."how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

"Uhm... well... I think first I wanna try going home to Toploss and see how the mountains are fairing so far. Yeah, I'm gonna need more layers, it's so cold up there... You might like it though." He said the last part nervously to his pokemon, who looked up at him and dug her claws in to keep herself there more firmly. He was glad he'd decided to leave his jacket undone or she'd have poked holes in it and he'd be kinda mad about that. He was honestly kinda terrified to have her claws so close to his flesh though.
"After that I think I'm going to try and see what I can find in Gladegloom forest. Not too deep yet but... it'd be good to see what's changed."

Professor Yew The professor nodded. "Those both sound like important areas to explore ... especially Gladegloom. Be careful, though. If you're from Toploss, you know better than I do how dangerous the mountains can be, but remember, there's a limit to how much having a Pokemon will protect you. Especially a Pokemon who's fairly new to both you and the world."Pausing, the professor shook her head and added, "You probably don't need me to tell you that. I just don't want to see anything happen to you or your Sneasel."
She sighed and moved back towards the Pokeball-holding device, pressing a button. The device's cover closed and the five remaining Pokeballs disappeared into computer storage. Then she turned back to Sebastian. "Do you need anything else from me? If there's any way I can help you, please let me know."how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?

Sebastian nodded simply. He knew how dangerous the mountains were, and how many people had gone missing in Gladegloom. "I'll be careful, Professor. I won't let anything happen." he said with a glance down at his new pokemon. "I should be fine, I just have to get myself some warmer clothes and then do the travelling. But I'm probably gonna find somewhere to bond with her... It'll... take a while to get used to all of this." He said simply.
He knew it'd take longer than a while. But that'd be fine he supposed... mostly... kinda... sorta... Whatever, he'd figure it out.

Professor Yew The professor nodded. "Maybe try one of the outdoor arenas -- we have some general-purpose rooms over in the main trainer hall, too. Actually, you can use this room if you like; I don't have any appointments for a while. You have my contact information? Let me know if you need anything."
She paused, then smiled warmly at Sebastian. "I'm sure you'll do fine. Remember, we're all rooting for you. Best of luck! Let me know how your research goes. I'd better get back to work."
With that, the professor left, leaving Sebastian and his Sneasel to figure each other out. She felt sure he'd manage. Somehow. || FINISHED || how can we claim to understand something we've never experienced?
