He immediately decided to distract himself with his pokemon, the ball already in hand as he pulled it out of his jacket. "Ah... I'm not sure? I just got her not too long ago. Probably right after you finished with the professor..." he winced slightly and put his free hand to where he still had small nicks. "She uh... She seems ok? For her species she's... a lot less... violent? Than expect???" He sounded... confused, almost. As if he wasn't sure.
But, regardless of his doubt, it would be good to bring her out again. So, he let the Sneasel out in a flash of red, revealing the dark blue pokemon curled up on her side with her face pressed against the ground. In short, the pokemon was asleep.

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Mya did not pick up on the sound of confusion. To her, Sebastian had already proven his intellect when it came to Pokemon. Why would she need to doubt him now? It wasn't like he proved to her he had no proper information. But she was instantly distracted when he let his Pokemon out, albeit, his sleeping Pokemon. "What's that?" she asked. A Pokemon, yes, but... well, she only knew about bagons.Eon also watched, amazed, as the new Pokemon was released. She was sleeping, but that wouldn't stop Eon from letting out a small cry in delight and looking up at the humans again before looking back at the Pokemon. A friend! How wonderful! Eon patted Mya's leg and she nodded. Hesitantly, he approached the cat and sat down by her, intent on waiting patiently for her to wake up. He was a polite dragon."Looks like a cat," Mya said. "A cute cat."

Sebby was mildly relieved that the pokemon was asleep when she was let out, but was unsure of how she'd react when another pokemon was added to the mix, much less being woken by one. "She's a Sneasel, the Sharp Claw pokemon. And... I guess cat is a way to describe them." he mused quietly, "I didn't really expect for her to be asleep though..."
Despite that, at his voice she stirred a bit, and her head lifted from the ground with a long yawn. Then her eyes locked onto the Bagon, and she froze for a long ass minute. Just considered where she was. Her sharp red eyes went from Eon, up to Seb, then over to Mya before they landed back on the Bagon. She sat herself up and stared at Eon for a long moment, flexing her claws slightly in contemplation.

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me "A sneasel..." she said more to herself, taking in the name, classification and the look of the thing. Huh. It was rather cute! But still, Sharp Claw Pokemon.... so those claws were dangerous. But Eon had a hard head, right? So it should be fine? Either way, Mya watched the cat with mild uncertainty... she didn't want Eon getting hurt. Eon seemed to smile once the cat stirred and stood up. Eon stayed seating, giving a happy smile and waving his arms in hell. "Bagon!" he said in what Mya assumed was a greeting. He stood up onto his little stubby legs and gave another cry, sounding happy at the prospect of a friend! Just by his actions, Mya assumed Eon must be very, very young... perhaps he was as new to other Pokemon as she was?Mya gave a sigh and sat down near the two Pokemon, crossing her legs. Well, if they were going to get acclimated with each other she wasn't going to stand up. She had been walking for the entire day just to get here, anyway. "So, you research Pokemon, right?" she asked Sebastian. "Why?"

The Sneasel eyed this very excitable Bagon, then seemed to huff in amusement and reached out to boop him right on the snoot with the back of her claw. She at least seemed to be able to be careful with them... which meant she hadn't bothered to earlier. Thank you, Sneasel, for torturing your trainer. Sebastian let out a long sigh of relief and hesitantly sat down as well. If she was doing it... he might as well too?
"At first it was my dad, he sent me here to Mistveil to learn and make something of myself..." He mumbled, hand trailing back up to grip his necklace. "I stayed because it was interesting... These amazing creatures. I mean sure some of them are kinda scary... Even when they're babies. But they have so much variety, and they do all these amazing things. It's hard not to fall in love with the idea of them. So I wanted to find out why they disappeared, and why they're back now. N-not that I'm complaining! but it's still so strange and they're still so curiously interesting. And it's so cool to finally see them out in person rather than in a book on some paper or a screen. It's going to be terrifying actually seeing something big like... like a Mamoswine! They're over eight foot on average. Sure, we have buildings like that, but a flesh and blood creature is a whole other story." The further he got into his ramble, the more his eyes glimmered as he smiled broadly and watched his pokemon checking out Eon. Even if she'd quickly dismissed him from being a threat. Sebby idly pushed up his glasses on his face. "And who knows how much better life will get with them around. We can finally have good food, instead of... algae and mushrooms. Real berries and vegetables, affordable, good food."

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Eon watched the cat curiously as she stood. Then... boop! A boop! On his snoot! The bagon let out a cheerful cry and waved his arms happily, bouncing from one foot to the other. He clapped his paws together before lowering his head, aiming to very gently tap the sneasel with his noggin playfully. He didn't really have claws yet.... or very long arms. The most he could do was reach in front of him and place his paws together but that was about it. The range of motion was limited. But still! A new friend to play with! He was so excited he could burst!Mya listened intently as Sebastian spoke, going from watching the two Pokemon and then him interchangeably. "A mamoswine?" she mumbled at some point, brow furrowing. Sounded like gibberish to her. "Wow, that's a big Pokemon...." The more he talked the more... excited he seemed. The more relaxed. Huh. He really was a nerd, wasn't he? Although Mya did envy him. His knowledge was something that could be vital right now. She didn't even understand half of the stuff she heard about Pokemon. Mya was not stupid but... her set of skills were specialized. Whereas Sebastian could probably named 50 Pokemon off the top of his head, Mya could make a few bucks last a month. Just different lives, she supposed.
"Yeah," she sighed. "I'd love to try something other than algae and mushrooms. I never even had a vegetable or a berry before. They weren't exactly common where I'm from." Or cheap, she added to herself. They delivered berries and vegetables before, but there was a strict 'no eating the cargo' policy. Her family needed all cargo in tact to get paid, after all. "Do you have any theories? On why all the Pokemon just... vanished for so long?" Sebastian was smart, he was sure to have some sort of theory, right?

The Sneasel giggled mischievously at this Bagon and allowed herself to be booped gently by his head. She seemed to be enjoying his existance at least, so the feeling was mutual.
Which certainly relieved her trainer. "No, I don't. Not really. All the current theories... They don't feel right, you know? And I don't have enough information to properly have one of my own yet. So my first stop is to check out some areas that need it. First of all being Toploss and then up into the mountain to see if Pokemon are there as well and to catalog any behavior." He explained. "Then I would like to go over to Gladegloom. It'll be dangerous if I go in too deep especially with Pokemon back, but I'm hoping to learn something new from there for once now that we have a way to protect ourselves." He sighed. "I just hope that won't be a waste of time in my studies. I mean... I suppose being able to directly study wild behavior will be fun." He brightened again at that with a smile. Yeah, That'd at least be good. More data points, more notes, which meant the more that the professor would have as well. "And we should be fine, right Sneasel?"
"Snea!"

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Mya hummed in contemplation at Sebastian's words. So the nerd was going to go explore to answer his questions. That was good, more than hat Mya could say about her own journey around the ol' region. Having a purpose to wander was better than just wandering, right? "You should be fine, I mean, you have a Pokemon now right?" She looked to the sneasel. "Although I honestly don't know how helpful they can be if some trouble occurs. Eon seems a little too young and small to do too much."
That seemed to strike a chord. Eon turned to Mya and gave a stern cry and banged a paw to his little chest. She raised an eyebrow. "You are tiny. You are literally no threat to anyone." The bagon fumed at the statement, sitting down with a pout and muttering to himself. She poked his head hard enough he rocked back and fell onto his back. Bagon let out a fake cry of distress, trying to get himself back up. His arms were far too tiny to do so comfortably. He resigned to his fate to lay here forever.
"Your cat looks like she can handle herself just fine, though," Mya continued. "Sharp claws like that and nothing will mess with you for too long." She smiled at the cat, but she wouldn't trade Eon for anything.

"I suppose... She's pretty young too though from what I can gather. Sneasel are supposed to be one of the fastest pokemon though, so that's definitely a plus. Don't worry about little Eon though, even baby pokemon can handle themselves most of the time. Some species don't even raise their young, from the moment they hatch they're on their own. Although... most do raise their children." he mused, sitting back.
The Sneasel stood over Eon for a moment before booping his snoot again. Then she skittered up to Mya to investigate this sitting person next to who was clearly her trainer. "What I am worried about is getting along with her. I don't really know her all that well yet... And a trainer's bond with their pokemon was supposed to be really important." He said, watching carefully as the cat-like pokemon circled Mya a few times before deciding to climb up her back and stand on the woman's shoulder. Her claws hurt, they would dig into the skin a bit to keep her standing upright. "Ah, I'm so sorry, she keeps doing this!" he immediately began panicking.

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Eon seemed to giggle at the second boop, finally rolling over to get up, although he sat right back down and watched the humans and the cat. He seemed content now, just to sit there and enjoy the company.
The cat was another thing. Mya stayed still as she circled her, watching the cat as much as the cat watched Mya. When the claws dug into Mya's back, the human did flinch in pain and grunted as the sneasel climbed up her to be atop her shoulder. Taking in a breath, Mya let it out and reached up for the Pokemon to inspect Mya's hand, almost as if it was a request to pet the cat. But Mya would understand if that wasn't a possibility.
"Aw, she didn't do any real harm." Mya looked back to Sebastian. "I know how you feel, though. I don't know how I'm getting along with Eon either. I think, since we are all so new at this, it will take time to really bond with them." Mya frowned. "I don't even know who owned Eon before me. I just managed to find the pokeball, kept it for years." She decided not to shrug due to the sneasel on her shoulder, and instead to shake her head. "But who cares, right? We gotta do our best to be worthy of their friendship, I think. I mean, they are smart, aren't they? I'm sure if they didn't consider us partners or friends they wouldn't stick around."

Sebastian sighed in relief and sat back a bit as the cat examined the hand. Then she pressed her hand against it with a long purr. This human passed for now. "you seem to be doing really well with him so far. He liked you, I can tell." He said firmly. "but... you're right. I dunno, it's hard to figure it all out. I only got her a couple minutes ago. She doesn't even have a name yet." He looked at the Sneasel, who promptly jumped off the shoulder after the conclusion of a singular pet. Ok that was enough. She sauntered over to Sebastian and climbed up onto his lap. Then proceeded to stretch out over it and press her face against his knee, essentially locking him in place and keeping him trapped.

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Mya gave the sneasel a good scratching before she jumped down, going back to leaning back on the heel of her palms. Seeing the cat crawl into Sebastian's lap, Eon got a similar idea. He waddled his way over and sat down in Mya's, giving a content cry. Mya absentmindedly placed a hand on the bagon's head, earning a gurgling sort of purr.
"Well, she sure does seem to like you a lot," said Mya, still looking down at Eon. "And she likes to climb people. But I'm sure you'll pick out a good name for her." With a deep sigh, Mya rolled her head to pop her neck. Ah, much better. "Personally, I need to figure out where I'm going next. The professor mentioned some sort of construction site so I might go there... but I'd be walking the whole way. Good exercise for Eon here." At the sound of his name, Eon looked up at her and smiled. "Other than that, I'm at a loss."
She looked at the cat again and hummed. "What about.... something like... Everest? It sounds like a cat name."

Seb kinda smiled down at the pokemon. "Everest... I kinda like that. What do you think girl?" He asked the pokemon, who sleepily rose her head at him then lowered it again with a longer purr. "I think that's a yes."
"As for where to go... The construction site might be a good idea. I'm gonna be headed towards home and train along the way. Even during summer... Even without pokemon Mt. Veerie is dangerous. So I want to make sure I'm as well equipped as I can be before I go... Although it might be a good idea to find another trainer to go with me. Two heads are better than one, and it's an unspoken rule that no one goes up there alone." He said, "Even with Everest here, I'm not really that confident on my survivability."

The World Tried to Burn All the Mercy out of Me Well, good, at least the cat liked her new name. Mya gave a small smile before it faded as Sebastian talked. Huh, the mountain, huh? She studied Sebastian for a second. "You are very skinny. And you don't really strike me as the survival or camping type." She shrugged. "I'd go after I train Eon up some. I have lots of experience hiking and camping. Do it all the time, actually. Camped and walked the whole way here from my home town even." She looked down at Eon. "Maybe if he gets a bit bigger and a big stronger, I'd be more than happy to help you. Besides, I owe you a favor for helping me out with Eon anyway. We can call it fair trade."
She fished in her pocket for her phone and took it out. The professor was nice enough to lend her this... and she knows the professor didn't expect anything in return but Mya would still remember the favor. And a favor meant a debt. "I can give you my number so you can contact me whenever you want to take that trip. I have literally no plans other than travel around, explore the region."

Sebastian smiled. "I'm from Toploss, if anyone knows how to mountain it's me." he said proudly. "And... that'd be nice. I'll make sure to keep in touch." he said as he pulled out his own. Even if his was clearly more well-used. It also tended to double as his note-taking instrument.
His smile grew somewhat serious. "But I'm not kidding. Mt.Veerie kills people if you aren't careful. So if you're serious about helping out, be fully prepared. We'll need gear, and we'll need our pokemon to be strong enough to defend us against not just pokemon threats, but other ones possibly too Blizzards and such." He warned with a grim undertone.
