The air was still warm from earlier that day. Being close to the desert often meant more arid heat, but thankfully the nighttime had managed to keep a lot of it at bay. The sky was clear overhead and the stars were out, the moon sitting at a waxing crescent.
It was a wonderful time to begin hunting for pokemon and to see what the night air would offer.

Farrah stretched their arms over their head with a wide yawn, shaking out any residual tiredness from their frame. They really needed to stop making a habit of taking these late nights... but it was just so peaceful, and pretty, and there weren't any people out to need them at all times of the day so they could think...
Well - the heat wasn't too bad, either. And anyways, it was a perfect time to get away and actually go searching for Pokemon and just take a nice nature walk in general. "Alright! Let's get this show- Dec? Dec, where'd you--" They frowned for a moment, looking around. Where'd their Pokemon go? Upon not seeing him, Farrah paused, whistling sharply. A few moments later, Decibel the Zigzagoon came bounding into view, covered in fine dust. "Good lord, what did--"
The musician shook their head, before letting out a disgruntled noise, stepping away as the Zigzagoon sneezed and shook the dust all over. "...Thanks, kid. Now, if you're done with that... c'mon, let's go for a wander, see who we see, eh? The moon's bright and beautiful, the weather's... mostly fine - let's see what's around!"

A wild Houndour appears! Decibel is faster so you get to go first!
Decibel wasn't the only one that had been enjoying a nice dust bath. The houndour flopped over back onto his belly after getting a nice coating of cooling dust over his fur. The night was a time where he could wake up and start hunting, and now, he was getting old enough to hunt on his own! The pack would want to see him back, but he was going to make them proud. Maybe dragging some sort of smaller pokemon back with him for dinner.Sadly, his hunter instincts hadn't really kicked in as he walked onto the route path. Only when he was half-way across did he notice a human and their pokemon. Huh. Alright. Little big to drag back, not going to lie.

Farrah had actually noticed the Pokemon this time before Decibel. The Zigzagoon was still busy shaking dust off everywhere, and trying to spread it to Farrah's legs, when their eyes widened, seeing the approaching dark type skulking in the shadows. Oh, by Yveltal's wings. Was that... it was! A Houndour! Oh now that was a beyond lucky find. Farrah felt almost blessed for the luck.
Immediately Farrah stepped between the Pokemon and Decibel, who paused, eyes narrowed when he realized there was another Pokemon. "Shhshh.... back up, Dec. Hold on now. I don't want to fight." Holding a hand up to keep Decibel at bay, Farrah very slowly approached the Houndour on their own, careful about any aggressiveness, before crouching down to get on his level. Oh, he looked young... "Hey there, pup. Heya... you're a tough one, aren't you? Yeah you are. You hungry? Want a snack?" They reached into their bag, pulling out a bag of cubed berry treats. They were bright red, denoting the spicy taste within. Houndour were also fire-type right? Maybe he'd like that.
"These are berries. They're spicy, taste real good, I promise. Yours if you want em. C'mere, that's it, see? All yours..." They set a handful of the blocks on the ground near the Houndour, before reaching into their pocket again to wrap their fingers around an Ultra Ball. "You're all alone out here... don't you have a pack, fella? Do you not have anyone, being out here like this...? You could be part of a pack, you know - a new one where you're top dog. This is Decibel," they gestured over their shoulder where the Zigzagoon was standing, observing tensely. "He's a night-lover too. Just like you, just like me. We're all the same, y'know? Like packmates. If you want..." They pulled the Ultra Ball out slowly, activating it before setting it on the ground, just past the pokeblocks. "Alpha of your own gang, never have to go hungry, and you get to be active and grow stronger and even tougher than you are now. And all those really hard to scratch spots that drive you nuts? Consider 'em scritched. Would you like that...? Want to come with us, maybe? Please?"
They gestured towards the Ultra Ball on the ground. "It's your choice... but we'd really love to have you along. Really."

When the human approached, he went into a defensive stance and gave a small growl. But the human... didn't attack? He sniffed the air, eyes narrowed in suspicion. But when they brought out some food, he couldn't stop his nose from going crazy. He cautiously approached the spot where the berries had been set before licking a few up, eating quickly. He couldn't really take these back to the pack, but eh.The human's words were... interesting. a pack where he would be the alpha? All the scritches? Food whenever he wanted? He did love his pack.... he cared about them. He couldn't just leave them but... well. When he got older he'd be kicked out anyway and expected to start his own. He turned away and let out a low howl into the distance. A few seconds passed and a chorus of howls returned from further away, towards the desert. He sniffed the air, stubby tail wagging. They all understood. It was time for him to become a true top-dog. He turned back towards Farrah and poked the ultra ball with his noise, vanishing inside. It clicked immediately.

Decibel shuffled forward and sniffed at the ball, before looking back towards where the Houndour had howled. He gave Farrah a bit of a withering look, to which the musician shrugged, gently picking up the ball and standing. "Hey, you're more like a tanuki than a dog. What do you look so judging for? Totally different definitions of top dog, and this fella is gonna be that, don't you think? The two of you are gonna be teammates now. And," they covered the ball with their hands as if covering metaphorical ears, "You know you're my bud. No matter what. Encourage a puppy, Dec." They gently pressed a little kiss to the top of the ball before pocketing it. "You're gonna fit into this team perfectly, little one."
And that little stubby tail.... the wiggling almost moved the Houndour's entire butt - it was so cute that it was almost ridiculous. Farrah absolutely loved him to bits already. They grinned at Dec, before bending over to boop him on the nose gently. "Hey. Bet'cha can't beat me in a race." Decibel perked up immediately, looking extremely intent. "I bet I beat you racing down the route here - ready-set-go!!"
Farrah took off at a jog down the path before Decibel could even comprehend what was said - but then with a loud surprised bark, he took off after his laughing trainer. Farrah was in a fantastic mood now. Who knew what other amazing creatures could be found? This was great! And a theoretically good place to let off some energy and catch some more Pokemon!

A wild Drilbur appears! Decibel's speed is faster so, you move first! *Psst!! Don't forget to place your active pokemon's stats somewhere!
The thundering above his current nest was a lot. But it wasn't... sky thunder, it was ground thunder. Ugh. It was so noisy! Giving a soft grumble, he stood up and stretches, placing his hands together and drilling out of the ground and away from his comfortable and warm nest to see if he could put a stop to the ruckus.
He burst from the ground a few feet in front of Farrah and their pokemon, landing on the ground and giving them both a tired and upset look. Was it too much to ask for some peace and quiet? Upstairs neighbors, he'd tell ya.

Decibel and Farrah skid to a stop as the ground split open, revealing the new Pokemon. "Woah there! You uh..."
Farrah paused. It looked... really upset, actually. They took a moment to pull out their phone, pulling up the Pokedex app to scan over the Pokemon. A drilbur, huh...? Ground type. No offense to it - but it wasn't exactly the kind of Pokemon that looked like it would go well with Farrah's motley ragtag crew of misfits. But if it was here... Maybe Farrah could catch it temporarily? Give it a snack to apologize for the battle and making it mad, before releasing it back to the wild? That seemed like a decent idea. It also gave Farrah the more in-depth data on the Pokemon for research. And...
"Decibel, return. Sorry bud." The Luxury-ball returned the raccoon-dog in a shower of black and gold sparks, before Farrah pulled out a different Pokeball. They grinned at it fondly, before tossing it into the air. "Okay Jazz, it's time for your solo!"
The Sudowoodo shook herself once released from the ball, looking around for a moment before locking in on the Drilbur. She turned her head towards Farrah, who nodded back. "It'll be alright. It's time for our debut battle, yeah? You can do it!" Jazz nodded with a look of quiet determination, and looked back to her new opponent, steeling herself for battle. Yeah! Jazz could do this... Probably.

Wild Drilbur used Mud-Slap! It hits! Mud-Slap deals 2 damage! Sudowoodo's HP is now 14!
How rude! It seemed that these folks were not intent on keeping it down! Ugh, the drilbur really needed move, but his current home was so nice and cozy and warm. He sniffed in aggravation and moved his claws, throwing some of the softer dirt that had come up from his digging at the strange tree thing. It was a warning to keep it down! To let the drilbur sleep!Like seriously, it was so late at night why were they making so much noise?

Jazz made a bit of a face, raising her arm to brush at some of the mud that had gotten on her. Well, that wasn't particularly nice... though she supposed she understood. It wasn't quite pleasant at all to be woken up with such surprise. But it sure didn't need to be rude about it! There was nothing wrong with asking nicely if they would move along and let him sleep, now was there?
She looked back to her trainer, who nodded with a look of concentration. "Yeah, go for it. Jazz, Hammer Arm!"
If the Sudowoodo had knuckles, she'd be cracking them right now. Well! She was going to treat this just like how she reprimanded Mosh when he was getting a little too aggressive - or Decibel, for that matter. Manners were everything - and being civil was just something that this Drilbur wasn't doing, interrupted sleep or not! She reached back with her arm, before swinging forward to whack the Pokemon solidly over the head with her hand. Behave yourself!

He slapped more mud up at them, giving some very angry words and waving his hands around to explain how rude they had been!! He was not, however, ready for that attack.This tree thing hit hard and it actually caused him to stumble back a bit, holding his head in pain. That hurt so bad!!! He gave a teary cry at them and began to argue at them once more about how rude they were being!! Ugh, come on, man!!! He wants to sleep!!! Why you gotta be like that??

Oh, no. Oh no!! Was it crying? It looked like it was crying. It also looked like it was saying some not very nice things. Farrah felt absolutely terrible about this now, actually. They'd thought, maybe..... apologizing by giving it some dinner, maybe helping it dig out a new home where it wouldn't be disturbed, would be a good idea, but... maybe this was all a huge mistake? Farrah didn't want to make anyone cry! Oh, hell!
"Ahhhhhh, shit, what do we do?" Farrah looked to Jazz for help; Jazz only shrugged helplessly, looking just as guiltily disturbed as her trainer. She'd absolutely meant to discipline the naughty non-diplomatic behavior, but not so much that she'd done this. The two panicked at one another for a few seconds, gesturing back and forth as the Drilbur yelled at the both of them, before on a whim Farrah turned with a very sharp sudden "I'm sorry!!!" - chucking an Ultraball at the poor thing.
Hopefully that worked! Farrah would just have to deal with that fallout later. What a disaster.

The ball hit the drilbur on the head which would have just caused more tears had he not been absorbed into it somehow. The ball shook several times as he struggled to get out but, well, it was nice and quiet here. Yeah, he could sleep here! Finally, the ball stopped rolling and clicked. At least in here he was safe and it was quiet and away from that awful situation. Maybe he could get some sleep now.

Everything in Farrah and Jazz' bodies both absolutely froze up as they watched the ball roll. It was as if they were both petrified to see what would happen; trainer and Pokemon both looked between one another, remaining perfectly still until the capture mechanism finally clicked. Oh thank Arceus.
Farrah put a hand over their chest and sighed. Jazz bowed her head, also relieved. As the musician walked up to the ball, retrieving it and placing it in their bag as if it were a live bomb, they shook their head. "I actually feel terrible about that. Like... genuinely. Didn't mean to make the poor fella cry... what went wrong?" Jazz pantomimed it out fairly succinctly. Pretending to sleep, pointing at Farrah and making a show of stomping around, before gently bopping the trainer over the head. "Ow."
Well, now Farrah really felt terrible. "It... oh, the lil' thing... it is night, isn't it? Well, shoot. That's incredibly terrible. Here we are rilin' up this guy's home, wakin' him up, and then bushwhackin' him." Farrah grimaced. "You know... I feel bad takin' him outta here wholesale like that when he wasn't askin' for it. Maybe... let's come back here later, yeah? Make it up to the lil guy and let him go home?"
Jazz nodded, before sighing tiredly. Understanding, Farrah returned her to her pokeball. "Thanks sweetheart, you did fantastic. Go ahead and rest up, yeah? Dec, come on back - let's be quiet as we walk along though." The Zigzagoon once back on the field was to his credit much more silent this time around. In fact, Farrah had to keep an active eye on him as they began their walk anew while she healed up Jazz, lest he get out of sight without sound.
OOC: Drilbur added to tracker! Farrah also uses their out of battle heal. Decibel is the active party member.

A Golett Appeared! Decibel's speed is faster so you get to go first!
Any pokedex would tell you that this pokemon was one that was made thousands of years ago. And to this day, they follow the orders of their creator. The rapture, however, may leave some confusion. Was this pokemon created or had it simply re-appeared from wherever the pokemon had gone? Had any time passed?The golett stood there, staring up at the starry night sky as they contemplated their life. Who made them? They... couldn't remember. But they knew their orders. Looking at their strong, clay hands the golett let out a small noise, like clicking gears even though there was nothing inside of it's body except that strange and fascinating energy.
Their purpose... was to protect. To serve. But who? They turned around at the slightest of noise and found themselves looking at a human and their pokemon. Oh! Was the golett in their way? They stepped aside and motioned very politely that they were sorry. They didn't mean for their stargazing to place them in the middle of a road.
