[googlefont=Grandstander] time: day weather: clear participants: Sai Tsumoribattle mechanics: none Sai, you and your team have arrived at the outdoor arena currently converted to a maze for the Lab's Halloween celebration. After cooing over your Pokemon's costumes, an attendant gave you a quick orientation -- no breaking the walls, have to find the solution the old-fashioned way -- and ushered you into the maze, where you now stand. The eight-foot plywood walls bear paintings of spooky scenes and Ghost-type Pokemon, some of them rendered with more enthusiasm than artistic ability, but it's clear that whoever made them had fun with it. Currently, there is a small dead-end alcove to your left and another one just ahead of you and to the right. Your only real option is to go to your right, where you can see that the corridor continues some way before turning left. However, between you and that left turn is another opening that you could potentially take. Please describe your and your Pokemon's costumes, and choose whether to take a) the left turn at the end of the corridor or b) the opening on the left.

Sai looked around, taking in the rather adorable paintings and drawings around them as they got their bearings in the maze. They'd never really seen places like this back in their hometown, Hallows Eve not really being observed by their family, though they'd heard of it before.
'Ron! Ronronron!'
They heard Silver, who was pawing at a wall that featured a ghost drawing, looking incredibly excited already. Sai chuckled softly, leaning down and patting the Aron,
"Yeah, that's you buddy! You ready?" They asked, casting a glance to Kaima, who was sniffing the air, no doubt looking for something to eat, having heard from passerby's that today was a day of Candy. Morel looked less than enthused, but trudged along nonetheless. Nina had neglected to come, being far too spooked by the costumes and the general ambience, but that was okay, Sai thought as they patted the pokeball where she was sleeping.
"Alright gang, which way should we go?"
Sai asked the trio, watching as Kaima and Silver immediately bolted down the hall to their right, Kaima leading the way with a thrilled, 'Tototo!', his little shark fin waving behind him. Sai followed after the duo, pausing to scoop up Morel, careful not to smush the pumpkin costume he wore, not wanting him to get left behind. It seemed both boys had taken the immediate next left turn.
"Boys! Wait up!"

You take the left turn at the end of the right hall and find yourself in an immediate dead end, but before you can get too disheartened by this setback, you realize that one of the drawings on the wall is moving -- it's a real Pokemon! A Spinarak hangs on the wall, looking curiously at your rather raucous crowd. It's starting to retreat up the wall, but you definitely have a chance to try to catch it, if you choose.
Do you attempt a capture, or ignore the Pokemon and turn back?

Sai rounds the corner, before blinking a few times at the abrupt end, looking down as Kaima and Silver begin squabbling, likely over having gone the wrong way, before Sais eyes widen, a chill of fear creeping up their spine. Sai'd never seen a bug so...so big, and with so many legs! They couldn't explain why, but they were deeply startled, wanting to run very fast and very far away.
With two of their pokemon completely oblivious, and Morel content to ignore all three pokemon, Sai could only sputter out a weak,
"H-hi there!" That was a bit too many octaves high than normal.

Spinarak doesn't seem to like the noise of your Pokemon's conflict. It ignores your greeting, instead retreating up the wall out of reach, scurrying to the top and climbing over to the other side of the wall. If you wanted to capture that Spinarak, you missed your chance, but maybe it's for the best that you don't have to look at all its legs again.
Time to turn back and take another path! You return to the opening you passed before and go through it, finding yourself with a dead end to your left and a corridor to your right that ends in a left turn. There's also an opening ahead of you and to your right.
Do you a) take the left turn at the end of the right-hand corridor or b) take the opening ahead and to the right?

Sai visibly relaxes, their whole body untensing as the little, yet far too big bug skitters out of reach. Scrubbing their hand over the back of their neck where they could feel little hairs standing up, Sai sags some, before whistling to Kaima and Silver, getting their attention.
"Alright you two, lets go back the way we came, and finish going down the hall. Lets try the next left turn!" Sai says with a smile, ignoring the way Kaima huffs at Silver as the little Aron scoots on ahead. Morel mutters something that almost sounds like 'i told you so', if he were speaking English. It doesn't take long before Kaima is running after Silver, soon passing him, with Sai trailing after them, keeping their head on a swivel for anymore creepy crawlies!

After taking the left turn at the end of the corridor, you soon find yourself at another intersection. Directly ahead of you is a straight corridor that ends in a left turn. Alternately, you could take the opening to your right, where the path turns left immediately.
Do you a) go straight and take the left turn at the end of the corridor or b) go right and take that left turn?

Sai rubs the bridge of their nose, after looking around at their options. Sai had never had a good sense of direction, nor a knack for mazes. They weren't terribly sure why they thought this had been a good idea, but Silver and Kaima had been enthusiastic when they'd heard about the event.
They could hear both Pokemon arguing about which way to go next, looking just a few seconds away from a full on brawl, before Sai whistled a short, but sharp noise, drawing another disgruntled noise from Morel.
"Alright, Kaima, you chose last time, so now it's Silvers turn." They said, trying not to smile at how absolutely smug Silver looked after that. Watching as the little Aron looked around, contemplating his choices, Silver huffed and nodded, heading for the opening on the right. Sai could only hope they'd avoid any more potentially terrifying bugs.
(Chose option B.)

After you take the left turn to your right, you walk down a fairly long hallway, which finally ends in a left turn. After you take the turn, openings appear on your right and left, but you can see that both are short dead-end alcoves, so you continue forward to the next set of openings.
To your left is an immediate right turn. To your right is a hallway that ends in a T-shaped intersection where you could go either right or left. There are also two openings on the left between you and the T-shaped end of the hallway.
Do you a) take the right turn to your left; b) go right, then take the right turn at the end of the hall; c) go right, then take the left turn at the end of the hall; d) take the first opening on the left; or c) take the second opening on the left?

Sai wheezes, trying to stamp down the creeping feeling of being lost as they focus on breathing. They see Silver and Kaima chase each other in circles around their feet, one having no doubt finally tipped the other over the edge. Taking in their options, Sai looked around, before a quiet snuffling noise drew their attention.
"Morel? You smell somethin buddy?" They asked, watching as Morel sniffed and snoofed the air, squirming in Sais grip, before Sai set him down. Watching as Morel inspected each opening, even drawing the squabbling duos attention, Sai saw Morel settle on the right entrance with a quiet, 'Shrooo'. Sai, Kaima, and Silver all looked at each other before the trio shrugged and began heading down the hallway to their right, before taking the left turn at the end.

The left turn at the end of the hall becomes an immediate right turn, which quickly opens up into an intersection. Straight ahead of you is a dead end, and you can see that the opening ahead of you and to the right is a dead end, too. However, further to your right the hall ends in a left turn, and you can't see where that might take you. Alternately, you could turn left. You can see that going left and then going right will land you at yet another dead end, but you can't tell where the path goes if you turn left and then go left.
So, your options are a) go right and take the left turn, b) go left and then left, or c) go back.

Sai swears softly, having already forgotten which way they'd came that had gotten them as deep into the maze. They hoped that their pokemon would be able to help them navigate their way out when this was all over. Looking at their options, and then down to their pokemon, Sai weighed their options, before squatting down.
"Alright boys, what now?"
Kaima was watching morel as he continued sniffing at the air, seemingly oblivious, or just uncaring, or their trainers closeness, while Silver himself was sniffing around for stray rocks or metal to munch on. Keeping their eyes on Morel, Sai watched as the disgruntled Shroomish waddled his way to the left entrance, before turning back and calling another, 'Shroooo', waddling down that path.
"Alllright, left it is then I suppose." Sai said, before standing back up, following after Morel, but only after making sure the other two were following as well, soon coming to the next left turn.
(Option B.)

As you navigate the left turns, you pass an alcove with a bowl of candy. Among the more ordinary candies for you and your team to share, you find +1 Tough Candy!
Now you stand at a T-intersection, looking into a hallway where you can go either right or left. To your right, you see that the hallway ends in a right turn. There's also an opening to your right, but even at this angle, you can see that it's a dead end. To your left, the hallway ends in a dead end, but there's an opening on the far side that you could take.
Do you a) go right and take the right turn at the end of the hall or b) go left and take the opening?
Your winnings so far: 1 Rare Candy (participation prize) 1 Tough Candy

Upon seeing the bowl of candy, Sai chuckles softly, Kaima and Silver running circles around a very smug looking Morel. Sai grabs 4 pieces, unwrapping Morels as he rewards the Shroomish for a job well done. Giving the other two their pieces, and pocketing one for the sleeping Nina, Sai looks around, taking in their options once more.
"Well...we went left and left last time, so what do you guys think about going right and right this time?" They ask, before huffing as they get no response, each of their pokemon too engrossed in devouring their candy. Sighing softly, though not without a small smile, Sai nods, ushering the trio of pokemon towards the right, hoping they can keep up their streak of good luck.

Tragically, you discover that the right turn at the end of the hall is a dead end -- but it's not too tragic, because there's a bowl of candy here too, including +1 Health Candy.
Coming out of that dead end, you stand at the end of the hall. While the hall ends in a dead end, and you can see that the first opening to the left is a dead end as well, you still have another opening on your left -- which is the way you came -- or an opening further down the hall on your right.
Do you take a) the opening on the left, going back the way you came or b) the opening on the right?
Your winnings so far: 1 Rare Candy 1 Tough Candy 1 Health Candy
