Professor Yew might be too slammed with work to get out to the Safari Zone right when it opened, but that didn't mean the Lab wasn't represented among the first wave of visitors! While Sebastian wasn't the only researcher checking out the Safari Zone, he and his fellows soon split up, with Sebastian tackling the forest area -- a rather noisier and less spooky forest than Gladegloom. It didn't help the noise that it was currently pouring, rain soaking the entire environment. But maybe Sebastian had possessed the foresight to bring an umbrella? Or at least wear waterproof clothes? Welcome to your Safari Zone thread! In your next post, be sure to establish which single Pokemon your character has with them. This was all very new, and it was safe and fun!!! hopefully. He had his little William in his arms, letting the little bug look about. Over the past while, he'd gotten to know his pokemon a lot more, even if his wurmple was still a wurmple, his sneasel still a sneasel, and his barboach still a barboach. But that didn't matter to him as much as learning about them. And taking care of them. But regardless, his focus turned back to this place. He hugged William a little closer. He was excited to see who and what he could find. Will was nibbling on his pen, which he was having the little bug hold, his note taking phone kept close. OOC: Eeeeeeeeeee

The Safari Zone

As Sebastian ventured further into the Safari Zone, he spotted a Pokemon standing under a large tree, mostly sheltered from the rain by its branches, but still looking miserably up at the sky. The Fomantis wanted sunlight -- it had spent all night running around, frolicking, but now it was tired and needed to sleep and photosynthesize. That was going to be much less effective, though, with the rain pouring down. There was nothing Fomantis could do about this, of course, but it certainly didn't have to like it.

When Sebastian neared it, the Pokemon looked up. "Man?" it said, wondering if this rather soggy-looking human would commiserate with it.

A wild Fomantis appears!

"Oh! A Fomantis, the sickle grass pokemon! But what are you doing awake, it's still daytime. Or did the rain wake you up?" He knelt in front of it to get a closer look. "You definitely don't look too happy. Want some better cover from the rain?" He pulled his bag off his back and tucked his phone in it to protect it from the rain as he offered the bag to hide under for a few minutes. Here where there were few people and fewer interruptions from pokemon he was a lot more comfortable. OOC: gonna offer some better shelter from rain!

But its alarm faded as it realized what Sebastian was trying to do. It was kind of him, to attempt to offer Fomantis shelter from the rain. Of course, it was also somewhat counterproductive, because the problem wasn't the rain itself but the clouds -- Fomantis needed as much light as possible to photosynthesize, and Sebby's backpack was only blocking more of the light it needed. But it appreciated the thought of the gesture, even if it moved out from the backpack's shelter. Fomantis seems slightly pleased by your action! "Not that, huh? Ok. Hmmm. What's the matter then, lil one?" He asked himself aloud, pondering. "It's just a lil Fomantis on a rainy, cloudy... day... oh. that's the problem. Hmm. Well. Huh..." Thought more. "It's probably not raining outside the Safari zone, or maybe in the meadows. I could help you go there and get a little sun before it sets, it is getting kinda late." He offered, then realized wait. It can't understand me. or can it? He knew they were smart. "Or maybe you'd want a snack? It might be able to help out with the lost energy." Sebby dug through his bag for a berry and offered it to her with a small smile. OOC: berry? C:?

Yes, exactly -- it needed energy to survive and thrive. So it took the berry from the human and nibbled on it. Ooh, this wasn't just a source of energy -- it was tasty, too. Giving Sebby a bright smile, the Fomantis thanked him with a "Ti!" Then it tilted its head, wondering about what Sebastian had said re: taking it to somewhere sunnier. Leave the forest? But it had always lived in the forest ... It didn't know where else it would go. But if there was more sunshine in other places, maybe other places were better. "Maaa?"
