In a way, the immediacy of the capture startles Farrah. And on the other hand… the Trubbish was such a sweet thing. Perhaps it shouldn't have been so surprising. She hadn't deserved the horrors that life gave her, and the strength she has to be so friendly and kind despite it all is nothing less than incredible. While dimmed, Farrah still holds a faint smile, caressing the top of the Luxury Ball before tucking it safely. "Thank you Andante," she says gently to the Golett as they help her back up to her feet before she meets the Null's eyes again and nods. Onward.
Trusting the chimera implicitly, Farrah nods at Andante and Decibel, and the three follow behind. "She's sweet," the musician speaks the thoughts quietly outloud. "To be tortured in the way that you've all been is unconscionable. Rest assured I'll not rest on my laurels. The food I've on hand will be distributed as well. I follow your lead." Andante whirs softly, helping Farrah around a piece of wreckage and nodding to the Null. Their trainer was nothing if not earnest and hellbent on trying to do right by those wronged.
Decibel's ears perk in the ripple of the storm. As the Null pauses, he looks too. Something in the darkness sends chills down his spine, putting his hackles up. Without a sound, he takes the vanguard next to the Null, slipping in front. Farrah doesn't seem to notice — or to mind, really, that Decibel has taken over — and remains focused on the task, but as they begin to pick up the pace, he glances up at the Null with an almost silent little gruff — a question… or perhaps, a confirmation, to what hellish thing that they'd just seen, that their human had not.

Night || Storm She considered the answer she wanted to give as they walked, winding through an old path that had been partially covered by the destruction. So many ways to answer, so many options to give. Which would be best to explain the situation in the simplest of terms without going into too much unnecessary detail? Finally, she came to the best answer she could. An alien. She kept up the pace until they reached the facility, stopping just at the lip of the entrance so they were protected from the rain. The entire front of the building had been blown out, the metal torn and ragged from the sheer force of the explosion. She took a moment here before walking forward a bit more towards the center of the room before stopping short just from its perfect position to look at a space unmarred from the explosion. In fact, it looked as if the damage went around it. Even now, the linoleum floor shined... with the exception of a large dent and a splattering of blood on the floor. Here was where that little Ralts--excuse her, Kirlia--had stopped the explosion. How quaint. The psychic power was still so weak in that one but one day, with proper training, they'd be at a higher level. Not now... and not quite the same strength she was back in her prime. Hah! Why, if it was her this entire room would have been unmarred and she'd have given it a paint job at the same time! Assuming she had her body and... spoons. The Null made a noise and kept going deeper into the facility, knowing exactly where to go. She made a sudden turn to the left--opposite of that safe haven further in--and kept going. She then stopped by a door that was severely damaged. The Null made a noise to Dec: keep Farrah entertained, she'd be done in a minute. Then the Null charged at the door and began to slowly break it off of its hinges, using the sturdy helmet to bash it to pieces. Using her physical form like this was so barbaric, but alas... what was one to do? While she worked, there was something moving in the next room beyond the broken glass wall, near massive tubes. A creature poked its head up and then quickly vanished from sight before slinking from the back of one of the machines... another Null? It looked nervous, fur on its hackles raised as it watched the other one continue to ram into the door. Its eyes moved to Dec. Then to Andante. Then to Farrah. A human. The Null moved something shining behind them, as if trying to keep it hidden, while it pressed its body tight into a corner. Watching cautiously. A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

…An alien?
This island was so messed up. Decibel pauses mid-stride as he considers this, before shaking his head and trotting to keep pace once more. After some of what they'd seen of the island's destruction, and there was no denying what that thing was, he'd believe anything at this point.
Once in the shelter of the building, Farrah takes a moment to perhaps futilely try to dry herself and the team off the best she can. It doesn't do much, but it's enough to gather herself as she looks around. The absolute violence with which the building had been ripped apart… and it was a boiler that did all of this? An old furnace… — not that Farrah doubts Takara, but it seems… a lot. Perhaps Salve Co. was covering up for what they had really done; it was easy, in traumatic situations, to get confused, or muddled, or miss little details… maybe Takara just didn't fully remember, if it was more than the simple boiler.
And speaking of… she crosses the room to stand next to the Null, slowly crouching down and reaching out to brush her fingers against the pristine linoleum. The lone survivor… "Thank you, Orion," she whispers. "For keeping him alive." The blood makes her heart sink into her stomach — the shrapnel Takara had mentioned. This was his blood. Decibel nudges under her arm, and she smiles at him, running her fingers through his fur gently, taking Andante's assistance to stand. It's a lot — but there's yet more to consider as the Null leads ahead.
Hollowed out hallways, scorched and warped walls, and sharp turns… to a battered, half-ruined door. She raises her eyebrows slowly at it, wondering; Decibel drags her attention with a low chuff at the same time the first bash from the Null's helmet gets her to jump, startled.
But Farrah still does not get to voice her concerns. As she opens her mouth to ask, Decibel's ear swivels and he suddenly turns his head towards a wall of broken glass. He perks up with narrowed eyes, and Farrah stills. "…You see something, bud?" When his answer is to drop down and slowly slink forward, she frowns. Pulling out Rhapsody's Pokeball and releasing the now-healed dragon, she glances to Andante. "I'll be okay. Stay here and help our friend out. Rhapsody, you keep an ear out, okay? Good. Good girl."
As the team nods, Farrah follows after Decibel, slowly picking through the glass behind the Linoone into the next room over. He seems to be staring at something around the corner of a machine, so she follows."What is it, Dec? What do — …Arceus."
It's another one. Just like the chimera behind her. This one seems… smaller, in a way — perhaps because of the way it's backed itself into a corner. The creature's hackles are up, terrified, hunched up as it is… Farrah very slowly drops to a knee. She knows nothing of what to expect. But kindness and patience worked before. Perhaps it will again. "Hey there… shh, its okay sweetheart. I've no intent to harm you. Neither of us do. Right, Dec?" The Linoone nods, sniffing quietly at the strange smelling Pokemon — similar, identical, yet wholly different from the first — before bunting Farrah's arm as if to agree and show his trust. Farrah nods, before settling herself to sit on the floor completely, keeping her empty hands in view. "… Are you hurt? Are you okay? It's okay little one, you don't have to be frightened. I'm here to help. It's okay… it's okay…"

Night || Storm The new Null pushed further back into the corner, the back half of its body going near liquid as it did so, but maintaining the ruse to all that could see it. This was bad. This was very, very bad! The human's words were soft, but that didn't make much of a difference given this pokemon's current predicament. Its eyes darted to the metal door in the hall that was slowly being dented so far inward that it was about to burst off of its hinges. If that thing found this pokemon with its current found goods then-- no! It had to trade these things to the Abra Gang for food, there was no other choice! It didn't trust the sanctuary to actually provide so.... A small whine came from the Null as it considered its options. Backed into a corner. Then it moved, as quick as a flash of light, grabbing something and peeling around the corner with the flexibility that should not be possible in a creature with a spine... or bones in general. But it left something behind that fell onto soft dirt. A single, decorative spoon. It looked fancy with silver filigree along the handle and--with a quick enough glance--inland gemstones that made a palm tree by a blue oasis in a desert with a setting sun in the background. This symbol could be found in any old Deprin history book. It was the symbol that decorated the Arrigan Desert Gym badge. The spoon itself, with the gems and silver, was worth tens of thousands of dollars alone. But to a certain pokemon it was priceless. A gift from a dearly departed friend. The fleeing Null slithered its head and neck back around the corner, its body somewhere else as it started at Farrah and Decibel, a claw also slinking around the corner and bending in an impossible way and stretching at an impossible distance to snatch the spoon before its body snapped back to it with a wet " shlorp" as it tried to climb onto some of the test tubes in another room for safety. There was no escape! Not with that true Null in the hallway while they had her... her... The Null coiled in on itself, growing to a much smaller size to fit on the top of the machine. Maybe if it just waited they'd all go away? The metal door busted down with a long clang, startling it a bit as one of the spoons clattered to the floor, making a ring off of a stone. The Null in the hallway froze. Her head tilted slightly in the direction of the tone before calmly walking towards the noise and spotting her spoon and an impossibly long and coiled arm reaching down for it. The fake Null froze, staring at her as she stared back. The Null growled a warning not to it, but to Decibel. "Get that thing away from my spoon before I beat it to death."A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

The whine pulls Decibel's attention, ears swiveling forward as he very slowly lowers himself, ready to pounce while still attempting to make himself look as nonthreatening as possible. He can see that this other creature -- that looks like the Null but smells Not Right -- is also preparing to move. But if it thinks it's going to lash out at his human...
It moves almost faster than he can process, but Decibel leaps in the flurry nonetheless; not towards the Pokémon, but to get between it and Farrah. The musician herself reels backwards as the Pokémon whips around the corner. No creature should move like that. "What the fuck?"
Decibel only keeps his eye on where the Pokémon disappeared to for a moment before his attention is brought back to what it left behind. He huffs softly, pulling Farrah's attention as after a moment, they both investigate the object. A... spoon? A beautiful spoon, certainly -- and one with a pattern that Farrah easily recognizes both from her own curious reading in the library, and her work in preserving and reviving the history of the Deprin League. "...The Arrigan... but why would this be -- gah!?"
Farrah startles as the malformed claw snatches the spoon out from between the two of them, snapping back with that terrible wet noise as the Pokémon disappears into yet another room, scrabbling on top of the machines with the crash of broken, burnt metal. "Go on Dec, follow after. I'm fine. Give me a minute, I'll be right behind you. Go on." Nodding, Decibel takes off to the next room in pursuit as Farrah hisses with the pain of her arm as she puts pressure on it to push herself up. Her lungs feel tight, disagreeing with her decision to sit, but she persists, taking a moment to breathe. It's only a moment -- no sooner does Farrah finally get a full breath than there is a mass of noise from the next room; the slam of the ruined metal door, the clatter of thin silver, and the growls of multiple Pokémon.
The sight brings yet another quiet curse under the musician's breath. Things have taken quite the turn very quickly. It wasn't in her plan to have to come to blows, or combat at all, considering the nature of things happening on this island. But it doesn't seem like things are going to calm down either. Making it to the door, Farrah sees the second strange chimera up on top of the machinery, Decibel and her companion chimera beneath it, and Rhapsody growling along with the behelmeted Pokémon standing in the doorway. Gods and devils but she wishes sometimes she could talk to Pokémon the way some people could in those historical myths. It would make things so much easier. But she is only human; so she can only do what she knows.
And what she knows...
"Stay in the ball! It's safe, you'll be safe, nobody can or will hurt you inside of it. Just stay! Please! Stay and it will be safe!" She calls out to the Pokémon frozen on top of the machines, and then before there can even be a pause for breath, she unclips one of the empty Luxury Balls and launches it up at the Pokémon. As the ball sails through the air, she whistles between her teeth, and Decibel lunges on pinpoint trigger, shooting forward with the speed of his own species to snatch up the spoon before anyone else can get to them.

Night || Storm The luxury ball came sailing through the air as it slammed against the Null's helmet, squishing it in like it was a pillow compared to wood. The form of the thing began to violently seize before shifting back into its real form--a purple-pink pokemon that had the look of a glob of dough. The Ditto made a small noise as the luxury ball left its face, opened, and then took the stunned pokemon in. The luxury ball and second spoon both hit the ground, only one of them rocking back and forth. Once. Twice. Click! The luxury ball went still and the Null charged forward with Dec, carefully pawing at her spoons and letting out a soft whine. Her spoons... her glorious spoons. She had evolved with these spoons and her former trainer had them decorated just for her. For their gym battles as challengers entered, hoping to walk home with a badge. It was a glorious memory. Tears leaked from the helm as she brought her spoons closer to her, unable to hold them like she once did, but she grabbed them with one claw. She shook her head, sending tears flying out of the helm as she looked to Decibel. She gave a solid nod to him. A thanks. Taking a moment, their eyes shot to Farrah. And then to the exit. The unmistakable horn of the ship. It was time to go. Damn it. The Null walked on three legs, holding her spoons close to her chest as she went back into the room she had busted into. With her free claw, she batted an old case out. It had a reel of some footage--an odd way to keep security footage, but also the most secure oddly enough. This was the only one that wasn't too damaged in the fire, but only the island had a way to play it. The technology was ancient even for the Region and even then it was outfitted to only work in one specific player. It'd take some sort of tech wizard to get it working, but evidence was evidence. Answers were answers. "Null," she said, putting a claw on it. It was wise to take it. The Null knew that the one responsible for their freedom would not reveal that secret so easily, especially one who had written such a worried sounding note to her new trainer. Not that the Null could blame this 'Tara' for secrecy, she would have done the same. But she understood the need to hide but also the need for the truth to come out at some point... assuming the footage could be recovered from the strange film. The Null looked at her spoons, nuzzling them with her helmet before holding them out to Farrah. As if to say 'I trust you to carry these for me -- don't fucking lose them.'Giving very little time to process anything with the case of footage or the spoons, the Null began to leave the facility and walk back towards the beach. They had to leave. Others that came had been forcefully removed from the island if one waited too long... A Wild Pokemon Appeared!

It… stayed? It stayed!
Farrah sighs in relief, shoulders slumping as she watches the ball click definitively, and the two Pokemon race forward to snatch up the spoons. "What… was that," she murmurs to herself as she approaches. It certainly hadn't been a chimera. Unless these Pokemon were truly that… unusual. She watches their companion for a moment, however — the tears, the emotion as she holds the spoons like a lifeline.
Clearly… these meant more than a great deal. Farrah is glad — more than glad, for them to be found, then. "Better now, mm?" She smiles softly at the Pokemon as Decibel nods back, pleased. Whatever had happened in all the chaos, it was over now, and precious possessions were returned rightfully. Good.
Farrah makes a disgruntled noise as she looks to the sky herself, hearing the echo of a ship horn. Damn. Nonetheless — she follows her spoon-wielding friend instead, after retrieving the Luxury Ball, back to the door where Andante is still standing guard. The automaton tilts his head in question, and Farrah gently rests a hand on his shoulder. "It's all okay now." Even more intriguing, however… is the strange case reel. It looks almost like something out of a museum. She crouches and retrieves it as asked, before looking to the … Null, she heard her say? "That most certainly is something… thank you darling. For everything. And now, with this in hand, your new life can begin."
She has no idea what to do with the reel. She'll have to ask someone she can trust. Someone who is good with technology, who might know such a thing. And Farrah might…. have just someone in mind.
Gently, the musician retrieves the spoons, and sets them safely in her bag, tucked into the note from Tara, safe. "We'll get them cleaned up for you at home. But… shit. Best get back before we get dragged back. They know I've got some injuries though… we can take it a little slow."
And thus, Farrah and her team follow with their new companions back towards the beach. But if there are stockpiles of food, snacks, and perhaps some potions left around the island as she goes…. — well. That was just a promise fulfilled, and something for the Pokemon of Salve Island to know, wasn't it?
