DAYTIME / CLEAR WEATHER / SELF-MODERATED ENCOUNTER LOCATION: ROUTE 11 ITEMS: POKEBALLS, NO REPELS ACTIVE POKEMON: BELDUM A broadcast on the Metagross Meta channel on Poketube is playing. It is also cross-posted on the official Mistveil Laboratory Trainer Bulletin, and your local podcast channels on the Deprin News Network. The surroundings are peaceful. Picnic tables scatter an open area, some covered with checkered blankets, others under umbrella shade. Multiple buildings circle the clearing; food stands, a Pokemon Center, a Ranger Station down the road, and a central Visitor Center. This is one of two major rest-stop camping grounds that make the entry and exit of Route 11 at either end of the Safari Zone. Centered on our scene are two people, both of whom have small microphones clipped to the collar of their shirts. While one of them is engrossed in a tablet, seemingly muttering off a checklist to herself inaudibly, the other is conversing with someone off to the side, their pose relaxed and unhurried. Farrah: "Yeah, they're on -- everything looking okay, Tara? Mics, comms, cams? We good?" There is a pause, before an approving hum off-camera. Takara, presumably: "Yes. Everything looks alright. Magnezone camera is running, mics are picking up. You're good to go hon… but are you sure you're okay? Rest, water…" Farrah: "I promise I'm okay. If I need to rest, I will. Right, Mari? We're good to go!" Mari looks up from her tablet and gives a thumbs-up before passing the device off to someone else. She then turns back to Farrah and claps her hands together, grinning. Mari: "You bet! Need a break, just say the word. But for now… roll that intro!" --- The intro animation for the Metagross Meta channel plays: a short but colorful splash of music, color, and the title card. A glittery sheen plays over the screen before the intro page shatters like glass, revealing our scene as the image falls away. The camera is now live. The video is playing.Mari: "Howdy and hey! Welcome back to another episode of Metagross Meta, where we break down the walls to bring the latest info to you, trainers! As ever, I'm your host, Mari Williams. And joining us today is a special guest - you know her, you love her - our Sylvanport Gym Leader and current representative of the newly instated Deprin League…. Farrah Whitaker!" Farrah: "Hello everyone! Thank you for having me on." Mari: "You know it, girl! Today's a special episode of Metagross Meta. We're partnered up with the Deprin Pokemon League and the Mistveil Research Laboratory for the first in a series of videos dedicated to the folks looking to become first time trainers! We're calling this segment… So You Wanna Be a Master!? We wanted to get right into it, so episode one is about Pokemon Encounters. I dunno bout y'all, but I don't wanna wait around - let's get going! We're goin' on a hike down Route 11 today!" Farrah: "Hahah - I appreciate the eager attitude! Alright, let's go trainers!" MODTALK: Welcome to the Self-Moderated Encounter Tutorial! Today we'll be giving you a little run-down with an example of a self-moderated encounter. We're having some fun with this one, themed as a Poketube Video targeted towards teaching trainer tips! The goal of this thread is to give players a baseline idea of what a self-moderated encounter thread might look like, should they need something to look at as a base reference for expectation. If you don't feel like reading, that's OK -- Modtalk is here to give you the TL;DR without the fluff. Your FIRST POST (if you did not buy an item to pre-determine this) will be a dice post to determine the weather. Your SECOND POST (This one!) is your intro. While these threads are very freeform, there are still some things to establish: your location, a sub-location if applicable, the time of day, weather, any items or bonuses you have (such as upgraded Pokeballs or Repels), what Pokemon your trainer has with them, and which one is active. NEXT UP: Dice posts, to determine first the encounter rarity, and then the encounter itself with a shiny roll. Reference the self-moderating rules to determine what to roll. REMEMBER: DO NOT edit dice posts under any circumstance. If you feel there is an error, please message mods to correct it for you. Clearly label what every dice roll is for.

After a brief transition, the episode of Metagross Meta returns to our scene: our trainers are walking down the road of Route 11, having exited the rest stop. The sun is out, the weather is fair, and birds are chirping in the distance. The dirt road is well walked, and on either side by a fair margin are demarcated fences signifying where is legal to publicly wander, and what is part of the protected Safari Zone. Mari and Farrah are chatting with each other and the camera as they walk.
Mari: "Alright, so get us started, o' wise and fearless teacher! What's the deal with these encounters? Break down those walls, give us the meta!"
Farrah laughs and gestures a hand openly to the scenery around them.
Farrah: "Well, first thing is first. While what Pokemon you encounter on these escapades is always random, you aren’t gonna run into anything unknown on these mano a mano adventures. They’ll always be Pokemon already registered to the Deprin Regional Pokedex.”
Mari: “So if they’ve been recorded, we might see ‘em… how do we know what’s been recorded already?”
Farrah: “I’m glad you asked! The Mistveil Pokemon Laboratory has a phone application that has been made available to all trainers under the same name – the Deprin Regional Pokedex. But a collaboration with the Laboratory, the League, and Salve Co. is coming up with something new: a widely available physical Pokedex, just like the old days, to be accessible to trainers both old and new! But until those are ready, the app is both available to everyone for download, and current knowledge is available at any Pokemon Center, Safari Stop, or League affiliated building.”
As she says this, Farrah pulls out both her phone and a physical pamphlet handed out at the Safari Stop our trainers have just departed, and holds them up to the camera. The app opens up to the available [Deprin Dex] – and the pamphlet is unfolded to reveal a Route Map, complete with the most up to date information on known Pokemon in the area.
Farrah: “It’s very easily accessible, trainers, so don’t be afraid to reach out to your local resources!”
Mari: “No kidding! Wow, there’s a lot of grassland type Pokemon that tend to pass through Route 11, huh? What else should aspiring trainers be aware of?”
Farrah: “Well – once you’re aware of what Pokemon you might encounter, you’ll want to be ready to actually encounter them. It’s always a good idea to have a Pokemon partner out with you for protection, in case the wild ones get rowdy. But I’m just the bystander here today – Mari, why don’t you demonstrate for our trainers back home?”
Mari: “One Poke-pal comin’ right up! The man, the myth, the legend… here’s our mascot – go, Stratagem!”
Mari tosses what appears to be a very old Heavy Ball straight up in the air. It drops like a rock straight back into her hands, but not without releasing a Pokemon in a dazzling display of light. When the glimmering fades, a metallic blue Pokemon in the shape of an arm with a single red eye is floating in place.
An introductory headline pops up on the screen, denoting this as Stratagem, a Beldum. Some miscellaneous information shows, including the Beldum’s typing, and in smaller print at the bottom of the screen is a disclaimer that all Pokedex information shown is provided freely from the Mistveil Laboratory.
Mari: “Not quite grown into the namesake, but we’re gettin’ there. Love this lil’ guy – isn’t that right, Strata?”
Stratagem: “Belllll! Beldum bel!”
Farrah: “Now there’s a fantastic fella – and speaking of encounters and Pokemon… look alive, trainers, there’s some wild ones now!”
As the trainers move away from the river and towards the heart of the Safari Zone itself on Route 11, Farrah points outward towards the sloping grasslands. Approaching the demarcated lines of the route appears to be a group of wild Tauros, frolicking with one another and moo’ing as they run. They’re a diverse group – some black with varying patterns of red and blue, and a couple others in tones of brown. They appear to be crossing the route, so our trainers stop, holding up a hand as a gesture to pause. The intent is to wait until the Tauros have passed so it is safe to walk again.
As they do, bucking and kicking playfully, one of the brown Tauros splits off from the group and coasts to a stop, approaching the trainers. It gets right into Stratagem’s face, snuffling at the Beldum, who holds perilously still as if it does not know what to do; despite having no eyelids, one can tell that the Iron Ball Pokemon is wide-eyed. After a long moment, the Tauros moos at it, and the two Pokemon begin to bounce around and play.
Mari: “Oh, wow. I can’t believe it was so easy for Strata to make a friend like that!”
Farrah: “Especially since Tauros are known to be ornery. Not all Pokemon will be friendly, of course, but between you and me, those battles are known to be a bit… freeform, eh? Well, go ahead and get in there, introduce yourself!”
Mari nods, and approaches the Tauros slowly, who freezes as she does so. She holds out a hand and allows the Wild Bull Pokemon to sniff; after a few moments, she too is mooed at, and the Pokemon butts his head against her chest in a friendly way. As the three of them all interact in the background, Farrah instead shuffles closer in an almost secretive way, addressing the audience directly.
Farrah: “Hey, I’m gonna let you all in on a secret. Normally, if you encounter a Pokemon like Tauros, there might be multiple types or variations you see in the Pokedex. When that’s the case, you’re gonna do an extra dice roll to determine which one you encounter. For the sake of our lil’ tutorial today, we’ve got a Kantonian Tauros, but now y’all know for the future.”
Mari: “What was that, Farrah? Sharin’ some juicy gossip over there?”
Rather than answering, Farrah winks at the camera before turning to Mari and raising a finger over her lips in a playful, smiling shushing action, as if hiding something. Mari laughs and shakes her head, before stumbling forward when the Tauros nudges her from behind.
Mari: “Woah there, fella! Alright, fine, keep your secrets – but this guy’s pretty friendly! Once we’ve got a Pokemon in a good way, what do we do?”
Farrah: “Well, that’s the fun part of being a trainer! Time to give a shot at capturing a Pokemon!”
MODTALK:
Alright trainers, what's next? The previous posts determined the Pokemon Rarity, which Pokemon was rolled, and whether it was shiny. In this case: Common Roll (3), Tauros (1), and Normal (457).
NORMALLY, in the case of a Pokemon like Tauros, there would be another Dice Roll to determine which variation it is. For the sake of this example thread, we've determined it's a good ol' normal Tauros.
Now that we've written out some roleplay for encounter one, what happens? The capture roll! After the capture roll, your trainer may react to the attempt, wrap up the first encounter, and continue on (and move to the next sub area if desired, if applicable). Remember to check the self-moderated rules to determine what the capture roll does.

A little chime plays, and after a transition, an infographic pops up on screen. It has cartoonish animations and bright vivid colors, and details the [capture mechanics] of how Pokeballs work, and how trainers may attempt to catch a Pokemon. When the screen transitions back, Mari has a Pokeball in hand, and the Tauros a few feet in front of her is tossing his head.
Farrah: “Now, there are a lot of ways one might go about capturing a Pokemon. Sometimes, you battle ‘em until they’re tired, and then give it a shot. Other times, a Pokemon might seem friendly enough to ask or be asked to come with you. Sometimes, it might even be by surprise from an unexpected toss! But this fellow seems pretty aware.”
Mari: “Yeah. But it never hurts to ask!”
The red-head trainer turns to the Tauros and holds up the Pokeball, steeling her otherwise cheerful expression into one of focus. Stratagem shifts to hover next to it’s trainer, eye on the wild Pokemon.
Mari: “Hey Tauros! You seem pretty cool – I don’t suppose you’d mind joining us for a while? It’s for a good, educational cause!”
The Tauros seems conflicted. He lows while tossing his head some more, pawing at the grass. For a moment, he backs up as if he means to run, but then he lowers his head and snorts, stepping forward. Right before he can touch his head to the Pokeball, however, a chorus of mooing echoes from afar, and his head shoots up. As the camera turns, our scene pans to show the group of Tauros has returned – or perhaps paused in their running – and is waiting in the grass on the other side of the route. The Tauros near the trainers moos back, and the herd reacts by kicking their feet and snorting. After a few moments of indecision, the Tauros takes a step forward, and then a step back… and eventually turns to run off and rejoin his herd. The group all buck and jump around for a moment, and with a last look back at our trainers, gallop off into the grasslands towards somewhere else in the Safari Zone.
Mari: “Aww… darn. I really thought he was gonna.”
Farrah: “Well, you win some, you lose some. That’s okay, we’ll have better luck.”
Mari: “I sure hope so. Disclaimer, by the way, trainers! The Pokemon we capture today will be going to the Mistveil Laboratory for research! They’re gonna tag the Pokemon, take some info, and then release them back to the wild to monitor behavior, health, and maybe try to learn more about them and their origins! Pretty neat!”
Farrah: “And that is a win for everybody. Well, team, let’s get going!”
MODTALK:
Hey trainers! So now we've written out our encounter, and we did our dice roll for the capture attempt. Now that we have that roll, let's talk about what that means for you!
In this thread, we are only using good ol' Pokeballs, so we have no additional bonus for capture. Our roll is 7... so what does that mean?
A 7, which is in the range of 6-14, is neither an auto fail nor an auto success. This means that the capture will be determined at the end of the thread by moderators during review. For now, the Pokemon gets away -- but not all is lost! If mods during review determine a successful capture, you will be given the statblock at the end of the thread along with any other successful captures! It is up to you how this happens in-character.
WHAT'S NEXT? In this post we react to the capture attempt's outcome determined by the dice roll, and then our character moves on to either a new sub-area if applicable and chosen, or elsewhere within the same location. Then, the next posts will be dice rolls for your next encounter! This works the same way the first encounter did.

A brief intermission plays on the broadcast for the Metagross Meta channel, showing some sponsors for the day’s video. In particular, there is information for the Deprin News Network, and the Mistveil Pokemon Laboratory. When the broadcast returns, our trainers are much further into Route 11. They seem to be crossing by the nearby forest of the Safari Zone, and sparse interspersed trees dot the environment. As our trainers continue to converse, Stratagem hovers by its trainer’s head, eye rotating around, scanning curiously.
Mari: “With the loss of Professor Victoria Yew still fresh on everyone’s minds, what is the state of the Lab currently? You were involved in the accident too, right?”
Farrah frowns, and looks at something beyond the camera with a worried expression. After a moment, she looks reflective, before shaking her head.
Farrah: “I was, yes. The professor’s death was – it was a devastating loss for the region. I myself was lucky to survive, and it was a tragedy I never wish to see repeated.”
Mari: “May the hammer of justice fall on the perpetrator, and fall hard.”
Farrah: “Well put. But that said – the Mistveil Lab is run by incredible researchers and staff whose passion is to see the Deprin region and its trainers thrive. Professor Yew would want us to carry on that legacy. And while there are… tensions, now, I speak for both them and the League when I say our lives are so much richer for having Pokemon in them. They’re incredible creatures, and we shouldn’t fear them. So for Yew, and for the amazing Pokemon out there alongside us, the Mistveil Lab has no intention of stopping anytime soon for research! They’re still going strong, and so should the rest of us trainers!”
Mari: “Hear hear! Say – not to change the subject or sound alarming all things considered, but… have you gotten the impression someone’s been watching us?”
Farrah: “...Other than our aspiring trainers tuning in? I… haven’t noticed, no…”
Mari: “Oh. Well, it’s just that Stratagem’s been a little on edge, and – oh! Magnezone!?”
Inexplicably, as Mari says this, the camera goes buckwild. The electric noise of a Magnezone beeping with alarm sounds through the speakers, and the scene pitches and yaws at an almost dizzying pace as the camera wrenches as if being tossed about. A third person, their hair pulled up in a ponytail, eyes wide with surprise, is visible with the recording equipment for a brief moment before the camera simply begins to spin and twirl rapidly.
Farrah: “Tara? What’s going – oh goodness, Magnezone, it’s okay!”
Takara: “I – I don’t know! One moment they were fine, and then–”
The cameraman Magnezone makes a loud static sound as it twirls, while Mari and Stratagem can be heard talking over one another, attempting to calm the Pokemon down. Practically nothing is visible for a long moment on the camera before they finally get Magnezone to slow to a stop, camera carefully focusing in and out on Mari and her Pokemon’s confused and worried expressions.
Mari: “Hey there, woah buddy… it's okay, Magnezone, I’m here, you’re alright. What happened, bud? What got you spooked?”
Mari looks over her shoulder at Farrah and shakes her head in question. Farrah pauses in her muted conversation with the person off-camera, Takara, and looks over to shrug helplessly.
Farrah: “Tara didn’t see anything either – everything happened all at once. I have no idea what it could’ve been… is Magnezone– oh!”
Farrah pauses, looks back off camera with a look of surprise, and then looks back at Mari, and the camera, and gestures somewhere just above it vaguely. Mari follows Farrah’s gaze, and also covers her mouth with a surprised expression.
Farrah: “That might be it.”
What ‘it’ is does not become apparent for a long moment. Both trainers and Stratagem are staring at something just above the camera’s view. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary as the camera reorients and refocuses itself… until suddenly – fwoop! – a fuzzy pale-yellow face takes up the entire camera, extremely blurry and out of focus. A little nose sniffs all over the lens, fogging up the field-of-view temporarily until it disappears from view again. A moment later, a yellow and pink flash zooms into view in the form of a little Pokemon that has leapt to hang off of Stratagem, who wobbles in the air, surprised. It sniffs around there, too, before looking over at Mari and crying out.
Mienfoo: “Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieee!!!!”
Mari: “Well! Hello there! And where did you come from, lil’ guy?”
Farrah: “I do believe we’ve found our follower! Must be curious what we’re doing.”
Mari: “Is that so? Are you a fan of the show, little buddy?”
Mari squeaks as the Pokemon leaps off of Stratagem and onto her own shoulder. It seems quite pleased about the situation, tail wagging as the trainer reaches up to pat it on the head. To the side, Farrah pulls up the route map, and then nods.
Farrah: “This would appear to be a Mienfoo! It’s a fighting type, known as the Martial Arts Pokemon. And it would seem this one is quite taken with you.”
Mari: “Well, I can’t blame him, I’m awful cute – but so are you, look at your cute little ears! And those little eyebrows, I could just eat you up.”
Farrah: “I think he’d like that. Well – sometimes our encounters aren’t conventional! Pokemon can surprise us as much as we do them.”
Mari: “That they do! And you like that, don’t you? Being a little star? Well why don’t I surprise you, too?”
Fumbling at her belt with one hand, holding onto the Mienfoo with the other, Mari holds up a Pokeball, grinning up at the happy little Pokemon. He doesn’t shy away in the slightest; if anything, he scoots a little closer.
Mari: “We’re doing an episode for the Metagross Meta about Pokemon Encounters. Whaddaya say? Want to be part of the show?”
MODTALK:
Welcome back, everyone! Got a little bit of exposition in this post - so what happened, what's the breakdown?
FIRST: We have the rolls for our second encounter! This time the rarity roll was a 20 - a rare Pokemon! As usual, reference the live dex for the area, and roll the number for Pokemon available. If what you roll is an unknown Pokemon, make a new roll. DO NOT edit dice roll posts. This will void your entire thread. Be careful! This time, we rolled a 4 and a 761. That means it's a non-shiny Mienfoo!
Some of the exposition in this post is meant to show off different ways that an encounter might go. Remember, while the outcome is up to the dice, the story is dictated by you! So what's next? Well, let's roll a capture attempt and see how it goes!

The Mienfoo seems quite excited about the prospect of being part of the show. He looks around, starry-eyed and delighted, tail wagging. Then, without any further ado, he bops his hand on the Pokeball’s capture mechanism, and is sucked inside. The ball wiggles a little in Mari’s hand, and the trainer watches it, entranced, while Farrah watches from the background with crossed arms and a knowing smile.
One wiggle.
Two.
[*Ding!*]
The light on the Pokeball flashes green with a little noise, and then goes dim, rocking no longer. The Mienfoo has been captured! Mari looks at the ball for a long few moments before turning to look at Farrah. When the gym leader nods, she lets out an excited whoop, and then shows Mienfoo’s Pokeball to the camera.
Mari: “And there we have it folks! We caught ourselves a Mienfoo!”
Farrah: “Congratulations on your new buddy!”
Mari: “Thanks! So, intrepid leader – what does a trainer do once they’ve caught a Pokemon? Can we immediately let it back out? Can it assist?”
Farrah: “Now, let’s not put the Ponyta before the cart. But I love the enthusiasm. While a trainer might be excited to immediately hang out with their new friend, the Mistveil Lab encourages you to hold onto your newly caught Pokemon until you finish your excursion. It allows the Pokeball time to register the Pokemon’s information to your ID, but it also allows the Pokemon to acclimate to its new environment.”
Mari: “So after an encounter is finished, then it’s alright?”
Farrah: “Yep! At that point, the information about what you caught should be registered. And hey – you know, I bet if you asked, the Mistveil Lab would totally let you keep the lil’ guy.”
Mari: “It’s tempting to ask, he’s real cute… and Stratagem could use a friend. But there’s plenty of time to contemplate that – we’ve got an encounter to continue, so let’s go!”
MODTALK:
Pretty easy breakdown for this one, folks. We've got our reaction to the capture attempt roll, and then the transition to prepare for the next encounter. What was our roll this time, and what does that mean?
This time it was a 15. A 15-20 is an auto-success! This means the player is guaranteed to get this Pokemon! Now -- like any encounter, you can't use the new Pokemon until the end of that encounter thread. But at the end, moderators will give you the statblock for your new Pokemon to add to your tracker!
Next up: You know the deal, roll that third and final encounter with that funky lil dice button! And as always, do not edit your dice roll posts.

During one last broadcast break, the screen transitions once again with a little jingle to a series of infographics. This time, a short health PSA reminding trainers to be safe on encounters and be prepared with supplies and plenty of water plays. After, there are a few splash animations that appear as a recap – they are info pages for the Pokemon that have appeared thus far, including trainer Pokemon: Beldum and Magnezone, Tauros, and Mienfoo. After the brief Pokedex intermission, the broadcast returns, and the camera pans to the scene. It’s a bit later in the day – the sun is still out, and the weather has held. Route 11 has once more given way to meadowy hills dotted with little ponds and lakes. In the distance, buildings are once more visible; this is the other end of the route, nearer to the northern Rest Stop on the other end of the Safari Zone. Standing in the road and facing the camera are our two trainers in a parallel similar to that at the beginning of the broadcast. While Mari – Stratagem floating at her shoulder – has both hands on her hips, beaming at the camera, Farrah has a much more relaxed pose, leaning on one leg with a hand loose in a pocket, casually smiling.
Mari: “Welcome back, trainers! We hope you took our advice and got up, stretched your legs, and shook those hands out.”
Farrah: “And hydrated. But we aren’t the only ones taking a big sip of water – the Pokemon are too! We’ve got one more encounter for our little excursion today, and boy does it look like it’s gonna be a doozy. Take a look.”
Farrah and Mari together gesture to the side and step out of the way. The camera turns to reveal quite the sight!
A little ways off the demarcated path and into the Safari Zone itself is a watering hole. It’s not big enough to be a lake of any note – but the water is deep enough to attract a fair number of Pokemon. At the moment, however, it isn’t particularly populated… but that would be because of an altercation happening at the shore closest to our trainers. On one side of the scuffle is a familiar sight: it is the group of Tauros from earlier in the day! They don’t appear to be playful anymore though, and rather quite agitated, scattered throughout the grass. The cause of their irritation is the other side of the conflict; an almost shockingly large Bouffalant. The bull seems to be older and stronger, between scars on his hide and old chips and gouges on his large horns. It’s unclear whether he’s a rogue, or if his herd just isn’t present, but either way he’s showing extreme territorial aggression towards the Tauros.
Farrah: “We’ll want to be careful on this one. If any of those Pokemon approach, I don’t think it’s going to be for playtime. We’ll have a battle on our hands.”
Mari: “More like damage control – that Bouffalant is mad! Strata, be ready to go, okay?”
Stratagem: “Bellll!”
Stratagem the Beldum moves out in front of the trainers, ready for combat. As everyone watches, the Bouffalant fights with the Tauros. Despite the seemingly unfair group advantage, the Bash Buffalo Pokemon is having no problem fending off the others. Instead, he readily routs the group with a fierce bellow, nearly bowling over one of the Tauros, who stumbles away with a panicked cry. It appears to have a domino effect – the panic of one Tauros makes another anxious, and it isn’t long before the group disperses, galloping in scattered numbers across the plains.
The Bouffalant, however, is not sated. He rears and kicks his hooves; with the Tauros gone, there is only one more interloper on his territory: our trainers. His eye lands on Stratagem, and the look he gives is not a friendly one.
Farrah: “Here he comes!”
Mari: “Oh gosh – Strata, Zen Headbutt!”
The battle is a fierce one. The Bouffalant seems to – luckily – have eyes only on Beldum, though the trainers back up and out of the way. Heavy horns and headbutts seem to have little effect on Stratagem’s steel hide, leaving no dents or gouges, and the little Steel-type offers as good as it gets, wearing both Bouffalant and itself down with Zen Headbutts and Take Downs. After a while, both parties seem to be worn out, the Bouffalant panting after both his battle with the trainers and the Tauros herd. Stratagem also seems to be wavering in the air, exhausted.
Farrah: “After a Pokemon gets worn out in battle, it can be an excellent opportunity to try to catch it.”
Mari: “I’m pickin’ up what you’re putting down – let’s give it a shot!”
MODTALK:
So we have our rolls, and we've written out our final encounter! This time, we rolled a 19 (rare!) on rarity, a 3 on the encounter table, and an 811 for shiny odds. That means our last encounter is a normal Bouffalant! Much like both of the previous encounters, this one is written out to give an idea of the very wide ranging narratives an encounter can take. But at it's core, the concept of what is generally expected is the same. Roll your dice, reference the rules and the live dex for the area, take note of any clauses, items, bonuses, etc. and write out your roleplay for the encounter.
NEXT UP: The final capture attempt roll for the tutorial! Let's see how it goes...
