A Hedge Maze Appeared!
The park looked different in the day compared to the night -- the lights didn't hit as hard and there wasn't that Halloween magic in the air. But despite that, the park had significant charm as people still flooded in to enjoy the day and partake in the treats and festivities this happy place had to offer. The sound of rides chugging along in the distance with delighted screams, laughs and cheers as games were won or loss. And the faithful mascots, floating in the air as they welcomed the guests. Solrock and Lunatone. Being here, it was as if the Rapture had never happened! That the region always had pokemon with them. Those thoughts wouldn't last long in the face of a sign advertising the limited-time hedge maze through! In the distance on the grassy hill, the entire thing had been set up on the largest and flattest portion. Eight feet tall, two feet thick green hedges stood proudly and ready for visitors! A few fake cobwebs hung from the leaves to act as some decoration, but it didn't hit as hard during the day. Yet, the maze itself was imposing enough, speaking of a challenge. 'Bet you won't do it!' the maze seemed to say. 'Bet you can't find your way through!' it taunted. How insulting! Better teach this maze a lesson! At least the line wasn't very long! With ticket delivered to the attendant at the front and a quick run-down of the rules it was time to begin! At the very front of the maze was a large sign as well: Remember!
The Pokemon of Sol-Lune Park are friends, not enemies!

Golden sunlight, that soft chill that brushed over the skin like a friend and warning in one, and the rich flavorfulness of popcorn that has been all but drowned in butter. These are the hallmarks of a festival in the daylight, right alongside the smells of dust, alfalfa, and pumpkin spice. And yet, there was an undercurrent — not of Harvest, but of Hallows. Perhaps a contrast to the Halloween magic that had yet to fully set in, but the team was still in costume anyway, bringing a magic… and perhaps a sorcery, of their own. Devereux found himself donned in finery, glittering silks and a faux fur cloak, trinkets and tokens adorning his fingers and swinging from his belt, a heavy talisman hung upon his neck… and a sorcerer's staff serving as his walking stick. And what was a sorcerer without his familiars — his fiend, his black cat, and his dragon, dressed just as decadently as himself?
Devereux offered Lapuwale a treat as they waited in line, adjusting the portable incubator slung over his shoulder, disguised as a satchel of magical components with its most precious egg treasure nestled safely inside. All of them had enjoyed Pokemon-friendly cider earlier, including Pu'uwai through the newly instated use of a feeding tube. The behelmeted Pokemon fit right in amongst the park goers this time of year, and while normally Devereux might be worried about how others would react to him, all things considered with his concerns, the Halloween spirit acted as a boon, keeping both Pokemon and people perfectly content without incident. Ahihaka was sated, cleaning her ears where she was sitting upon the Null's back, but Lapuwale was eager to roam; afterall, Halloween was a ghost's time to shine. And soon enough they would be, as they approached the entrance to the maze, line blessedly short!
Ticket handed to the attendant, the group stepped in with bright smiles and excited energy. Pu'uwai looked up with quiet curiosity as his trainer. Such a thing — such … revelry, was something he had never known in the Lab. Maybe once, in the body he once called his own. But that was a long time ago… He would have to see how this would play out. As for the joy of everyone else… "Alright team — the labyrinth awaits." Devereux grins at his team and gestures with an over-the-top sweeping bow. "Let us be off!"

A Hedge Maze Appeared!
Ticket spent and ready to begin, the maze started off.... well.... there was a solid wall in front of the entrance and it only went one way, straight to the right. Following that for a while, it soon turned left and then weight straight for a short while again before there was finally a choice to be made.
There was a path that lead off to the right and one that would go straight. Both equally fine, but there was no one else around to try and help make the decision and even in the light of day there was no hint to be had from the hedges themselves. They would hold onto their secrets!
After all, it was up to the maze-goer to find their way out! What will you do?

The sorcerer and his familiars entered the maze with all aplomb — only to be greeted with an immediate wall of deep emerald green leaves. "Ah!" Devereux chuckled, before looking to the side down the singular path. "Like a corridor into the depths. A grand entrance! Onward we go, then." The group continued forward, Lapuwale floating about, pausing to inspect every candle, lantern, and leaf along the way. Pu'uwai stayed at Devereux's side in perfect step like a bodyguard, and Ahihaka from where she was perched upon the Null's back observed like a regal queen — looking disinterested with her eyes, though her flicking tail and very alert ears told a completely different story.
Their first choice was grand indeed, after the anticipation built up from the corridor. To continue forth, or to turn away? Choices, choices… the footprints upon the ground told no stories either — or rather… it did. A very interesting one, really. "Huh, that's different," Devereux noted. Ahihaka looked down, too. Some of the footprints, despite going so many different ways, appeared to turn at an angle… and walk straight through the hedge wall. But there was no damage to the foliage to indicate someone had gone straight through it… fascinating.
Seeming curious about which way was the 'right' one, Lapuwale twirled in a slow circle, and then began to ascend upwards to look over the top of the maze for the answer. Devereux himself was a remarkably tall man — standing at a towering seven feet, the mazes were not much higher than himself to begin with. But even so, he raised the arm holding his magic staff, lifting it up to gently guide the Gastly back down into the maze. "No, no, my dear," he tutted gently. She looked at him with questioning eyes. "I know — the curiosity is overwhelming, isn't it? But to peek is cheating, love. Part of the game is the mystery, the intrigue, getting lost and finding our way out on our own ingenuity! Plus, we want to show Aubie and Argente that we're the maze monarchs, right? So why don't you stay down here with us, hm?"
Lapuwale considered for a moment, taking in her trainer's words for a moment before nodding with a grin. Games were fun! And she'd never experienced something like a maze before, so it was like learning something new! "Beautiful," Devereux praised with a soft hum, and then looked to his team on the whole, adjusting the incubator strap. "Well team? What do you think? Do we turn? Or do we forge ahead?"
After a long moment, Pu'uwai took a hesitant step forward on his own, and then another, looking straight ahead, before pausing and looking up at Devereux in question. In response, the man beamed. The Null, making a choice on his own! He couldn't be more delighted. "Very well! Onward, we forge deeper upon our path!"

A Hedge Maze Appeared!
Going straight led to a sharp turn to the right and then another choice was presented rather quickly!
There was a way to continue to go forward, following the original path in full, but there was also now a turn to the left. Neither with any hints, only those lanterns lighting the path and that strange fog that flowed its way through the maze. If neither of these choices seemed good, then it was possible to just go back.
The hedges seemed to rustle in an nonexistent wind. No one in this group would know that pieces of the hedge were actively changing--as far as these challengers were aware, everything was the exact same as it was. After all, the hedge knew what it was doing.
So... which way, soldier? What will you do?

Pu'uwai forged ahead into the fog, looking curiously around him as he went. Devereux felt something in his chest burn with pride, watching the Null take the lead and initiative. Even if it was because he had Ahihaka perched on him to offer confidence the same way she helped her human, it was still his own choice, and Devereux couldn't be happier for it. Lapuwale seemed to share in his feeling, for she hung back by her trainer's shoulder, letting the other Pokemon take the lead. He lifted a hand to gently run his fingertips over her head. Ghosts were strange, both corporeal and not, and touching one took getting used to, but he learned quickly, and loved the little Gastly greatly. "Where do you think he'll choose next?" he murmured.
Lapuwale scrunched her face up for a moment as she thought, and for a moment the perpetual dark mist around her seemed to still, as if in concentration itself. Then she shook her head and giggled conspiratorially, winking as if she knew something Dev didn't. "Is that so," he chuckled, "Alright then, secret keeper. We shall see."
As the crew approached the fork in the road, Pu'uwai began to hesitate, slowing his steps as if unsure now that he had to make two individual choices. But at some soft encouraging words from the human, and the pressure he could feel that was Ahihaka bunting the back of the helmet, the Null took a deep breath… and forged ahead in marching beat. Where he couldn't see, Lapuwale stuck out her tongue at Devereux, who stuck his tongue out back. Told ya so, seemed to be the expression the Gastly had, but the 'sorcerer' simply booped her on the nose, continuing onward after the pair as Ahihaka looked back at them. "Alright bud, let's see where we're headed."

A Hedge Maze Appeared!
The straight path led to a turn to the left which very suddenly ended. Yet on a table (with a camera in the bushes watching) was a makeshift nest and on that nest was a cardboard cut out of an egg! A sign read "You found me! Bring me to the front in exchange for a real Pokemon Egg (provided by the Mistveil Laboratories, incubator included, background checks will be performed before egg is given)!"
Once the egg is taken, another one rises from under the table to take its place. So now... there were two options.
Turn around and go to the left that they decided not to take or go even further back and take that original right which would now be considered "straight".
Which choice, oh, which choice? Only time would tell! What will you do?
Your Choices:
Dead end! You find an (cardboard) egg!
You return to the original position.
-Go Left -Go Back (to the original "turn left" which will now be a "go straight")
