The night was rich and full of life in Sol-Lune park. People were in costume, actors dressed as ghouls and beasts prowling about, drawing delighted screams out of passersby. Echoed above were the howls from the roller coasters roaring overhead, laughter and joy in the Hallows' Eve celebrations filling every nook and cranny of the park. The park's twin mascots, Solrock and Lunatone, were also present, floating about hither and thither and greeting guests as they passed by.
But aside from the thrilling rides, joyful games, and sinful smelling food, was the grand attraction of the Halloween season: out on the green, towering over what is outdoor seating for picnics and shows most of the year. The hedge maze. Eight feet wall and two feet thick hedges framed by creaking old corn stalks reaching like ghoulish claws, it stood as an imposing fortress of brassy golds and rich greens, lit by cobwebbed lights, dim lanterns, and the hush of the moonlight glittering down. The line for the fabled maze was daunting, full of excited park-goers; five were allowed in at a time, and as one exited, another was let in. But time felt warped by the impressive greenery. Two hours felt as five minutes — so the ten minute wait was nothing but a blink of an eye!
With ticket delivered to the attendant at the front and a quick run-down of the rules it was time to begin! At the very front of the maze was a large sign as well:
Remember!

"Even if it's not your fault, it's your responsibility." -Terry Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky And I scream at the top of my lungs, "What's going on?"
The rides had been exhilarating for his pokemon, the games engaging as well--Shri ended up winning most of them, boasting quite an impressive collection of stuffed toys held at the front gates for when they left--and even Cassiel seemed to be enjoying the festive atmosphere as people and pokemon alike walked around in costumes. He seemed very comfortable as people didn't gawk or stare for the first time in a long time.
While his pokemon enjoyed the various festivities, Takara partook in his favorite past time: food. Caramel apples, funnel cakes, turkey legs, giant pretzels, boiled peanuts, slushies, hot chocolate, hot cider, gingerbread men, deep-fried oreos, corn on the cob, the works! He sat at a bench, keeping an eye on Shri and Cassiel as they went on another pokemon-safe ride--this one the Skyraptor Dive. Once they were safely in line and on the ride, Takara took another bite of his turkey leg, accidentally getting the sauce that soaked the skin on his face. Hera handed him a napkin.
"Thank you, love," he said, wiping his face. Takara's costume was a normal dude. A baseball cap with his ponytail through the back, a t-shirt, long pants, and tennis shoes. Yes, the air was a bit chilly, but Takara was a natural heater and his current to-go cup of hot apple cider kept him warm. Speaking of warm, Hera was currently doting on the egg in her pouch. She had insisted on coming with Takara and the others to the park to look after the little dear. She patted the egg with her paws, giving a happy coo at it.
Before long, Shri and Cass returned abuzz form the ride, adrenaline flowing through their veins. Takara wiped his mouth again and stood up, tossing the bone of the turkey leg into the garbage can. "Okay! Let's grab another snack and then we'll head into the maze and then we go home, okay?" His pokemon nodded, following him as he got what had to be the world's largest funnel cake for them all to share, a turkey leg for himself, and a caramel apple for later.
Hera held the funnel cake, breaking off pieces and using a specialized fork to place it in Cassiel's mask. He snapped the fluffy pastry off the strange fork and gave a happy growl as Hera kept feeding him as they walked. Shri snagged her own turkey leg and dumped other snacks and bottled drinks in Takara's backpack.
The line wasn't too terrible with their food to help ease the time, and when they got to the front, Takara actually felt a buzz of excitement. He remembered the last maze he did. It was a lot of fun! And this time he could introduce the fun to Hera and Cassiel. They surrendered the ticket and walked in.
"Everyone have fun!" Takara said. "I'll follow y'all's lead!"

Ticket taken, ticket spent, drinks on hand and snacks galore — it was time for the maze to begin! The night was beautiful, and the maze was not. The sky seemed to get ever darker as the team entered the maze, a low fog filtering in, a deeper, spookier chill briefly lingering in the air before the weather returned to its natural coolness. A ripple went through the leaves, the dry corn stalks waving like beckoning hands.
This way, over here!
Or… maybe this way?
Even the previous footprints on the ground were of no help, disappearing into every conceivable direction. A slow creak echoed through the maze of old wood; a lantern swayed in the distance, casting dim candle light in contrast over the ground.
The maze started with two different paths to take. One to the left, and one to the right. It was impossible to tell which one was "correct" or which one was even the more-taken path… they simply both were, equally. And that was the fun! Which path to take!
OOC: The path splits!

Oooh, creepy! Takara smiled as he took another bite of his turkey leg. This had to be his... fifth? Sixth? The fall and winter were the best times for delicious food, in his opinion. And the deliciousness was just increased by the excellent choice of vibes the maze was giving off. Really excellent and worth the trip out!
He fished a coin out of his pocket and said, "Call it!" Cassiel tapped the ground twice for tails, Shri tapping her paws twice for heads, and Hera giving a kind smile for either. The coin landed and Takara showed it off. Tails! Cass gave a happy growl as he won, getting to pick the direction they went in, and he chose the Right! With a smile, the group set off, everyone getting another bite of the funnel cake while Takara chowed down on his meal.
The group marched to the right, Hera cooing at the egg, as if describing what they were doing so that way it felt included as well. Yes, yes, an outing for the whole family! Or almost the whole family. There were... a lot of them, but that was okay! The others wanted to stay home today and watch scary movies so that was that!
To the Right!

A feast in hand, and a feast in the bush! A feast of choices, that is!
The hedge walls ripple and shiver with some unknown breeze or force, like an applause or cheer for the coin's decision. How delightfully strange, considering hedges and bushes weren't sapient… unless they were Pokemon, anyway.
The path to the right led around a corner, which immediately gave way to another pair of choices. Both were equal in stature, equal in mystery, and equal in adventurous and prize-laden possibility!
Straight ahead was one such choice, down the trodden trail — but all trails in the maze were trodden, which didn't mean much.
To the right was the other, through an arch in the hedge that was covered in cobwebs and hanging lanterns, plants threading their way around what appeared to be a black wrought iron gate shrouded by the hedges.
There was no wrong choice! All of them were lovely… and full of mystique. Where to?
