In the Rapture days, winter was a harsh time for nearly everyone in the region. Crops would die off, power grids would fail, and many families would be left to huddle for warmth, waiting for the first spring thaw. While there were family celebrations of various kinds that survived after the Rapture, many of them became smaller and to specific groups and not a region-wide celebration. Now that pokemon have returned and the power grids and food supplies aren't nearly as fragile there's a thrill in the air to finally bring back some sense of normalcy after the Rapture's end!

Now, Sol-Lune Park honors Sunhaven's ancient Winter Festival -- where colorful lanterns are released onto the water to guide the spirits of the old year to their rest followed up by feasts and parties to welcome the spirits of the new year -- by creating a large event inviting all to participate in battles and games!

That's right! Sol-Lune Park is hosting a "battlepalooza" to ring in the upcoming new year and allow trainers of all skills to challenge each other in friendly one-on-one competition. And on top of that they are giving out three -- that's right, folks! -- THREE free tickets to play some festival games! No one has to play games or battle if they don't want to as the park is always open to visitors, but those that wish to participate in the festivities can choose to do battles, games, or both!

There are no wild encounters with this event, but you are welcome to have a self-modded or staff-moderated thread in Sol-Lune Park if you want to encounter some Pokémon!

Winter Festival Battles

• Battles are against NPCs with randomized teams (unless you draw a gym trainer or interim gym leader) whose levels will match your team's by intervals of 5. For example, if your chosen team to battle are level 10, 15, and 20, then the challenger's team can range from level 5 to level 25. Their numbers will also match yours so if you have only 2 pokemon to battle then your opponent will also have 2 pokemon.
  
• Battles are rolled by staff and will follow the rolled battle rules.
  
• These battles can be used for level-up purposes as well as meeting different pokemon/types requirements.
• Prize: +50 EXP for participating and finishing your thread!
  

Winter Festival Games

• Any Sol-Lune Park game is open except for Sharpedo Races. You can play a total of 3 games in the thread as staff will play the part of the game hosts.
  
• If you choose to play one game three times, that counts as your three game total. For example, one game can be played one to three times, but each time you play will take away from your total of three. So if you play Ducklett Shot twice, you have one free game ticket left.
  
• Prize: Standard game EXP prizes plus whatever you win from the games!
