"Quil!" The Cyndaquil's flames flared even brighter when it saw Eelington. So they were here to attack it and ruin its day! Well, it would show them the folly of their ways. It glared at Eelington, knowing that its Leer would intimidate the little fish-thing. See how it liked that. Then the Cyndaquil scratched at the ground, preparing its next attack. It would show these humans and their Pokemon that they couldn't just waltz into any cave they please and harass the inhabitants! By, by looking at them and making eels look at them! That was just unforgivably rude. "Ciiiinnn ..."Cyndaquil hadn't started this fight, but it sure as hell was going to finish it.

It was so cute!! Even angry, it was adorable! Mya felt that squeeze in her chest at just how adorable this thing was. Eon seemed to pick up on it. He would be lying if he wasn't a little jealous. But this seemed important to Mya.Mya had to play this smart. It didn't look nearly as strong as Eelington or Chai. That Leer didn't really worry her too much. She had three pokemon total so far, in an effort to catch this thing. They just had to whittle it down... "Eelington! Thunder Wave! We gotta paralyze it!"
Eelington gave a huff and gathered up electricity on his body before letting it out in a massive wave, hoping to hit the cyndaquil. He didn't quite enjoy listening to Mya, but at least he was actually fighting something now. And Eon looked much stronger than the last time they met so turning and attacking Mya may not be the best idea of all. Eon was glaring at Eelington, after all. Yeah, no, focusing on the cyndaquil it is.

Electricity sparkled over the Cyndaquil's coat, and it cried out, confused and alarmed by the new and not exactly pleasant sensation. "Quil!"It mustered its strength to fight past it, however, and gave Eelington another intimidating glare, determined to impress upon this strange eel the error of its ways. If looks could kill ... The Cyndaquil couldn't believe these people would be so rude as to not only look at it but actually attack it with their weird sparky powers! Abominable! It had to make sure that they realized how offended it was before it visited physical punishment upon them, as it intended to do forthwith.
OOC: Eelington's Thunder Wave hits and paralyzes the wild Cyndaquil! The Cyndaquil uses Leer and hits, reducing Eelington's defense by another stage, or two points, to 9! Alright good, it looked paralyzed."Eelington! Use Spark! But try to tone it down a bit!" As in, Mya thought to herself, don't hit it so hard you faint it. They needed to whittle down that health. Eelington seemed rather upset at the fact his defenses kept being lowered by this thing but, well, he figured if it meant he got to shock the obnoxious human later it was worth it.
Although, Mya had already started to reach for Chai's pokeball. Eon gave her a slightly confused noise. Keeping Eelington viable for another paralysis, if it was needed, was vital to this fight. She had to be smart, and Chai could take a hit or two and maybe whittle down the cyndaquil's energy some more. And if worse came to worse? Eon was strong enough to take a beating while Mya wasted her pokeballs.

Ouch! Eelington's Spark hit the Cyndaquil hard -- he was not the best, perhaps, at the instruction "tone it down a bit." Crying out, the Cyndaquil staggered back. "Quil!"Picking itself up, it began to drag itself back towards Eelington, glaring at him all the way. Oh, when it got over there, that eel was going to regret even getting up this morning. How dare they! That hurt! It might be taking it a while to make it over to Eelington, but that just gave it more time in which to contemplate the leagues of hurt it was going to visit upon the eel when it arrived.
OOC: Spark hits for 5 damage, leaving the Cyndaquil at 6 HP! The wild Cyndaquil uses Leer, lowering Eelington's defense one stage, to 7! The Cyndaquil's paralysis wears off! Oh... Mya felt bad when the cute little thing let out a cry of pain. She sucked air between her teeth. She didn't want to hit him too hard.... he was already looking a bit weaker. But also... not paralyzed anymore. That could be fixed."Eelington! Thunder Wave!" She had to be very careful and not risk fainting this thing. Eelington gave a sigh, having been gearing up for another actual attack, but he let out another pulse of paralysis causing electricity. What was the point in this thing anyway? Eelington would never know.

OK, now it was time for Cyndaquil to show the eel the meaning of pain. Finally, ignoring the electricity that crackled across its skin, it put all of its pent-up rage into a Tackle, slamming into Eelington with notable force. All its Leering had done some good -- Eelington's defenses were lowered, and the Tackle smacked him back. See? How do you like being looked at and attacked, you awful creature? Cyndaquil stopped and glared at its opponents, waiting to see what they'd do next. If they were smart, they'd flee from its fury, take their punishment and go. But it did seem like they were dead-set on tormenting it.
OOC: Eelington uses Thunder Wave and hits, paralyzing the Cyndaquil. The Cyndaquil uses Tackle and hits for 5 damage, leaving Eelington with 7 HP! Eelington glared at the thing at being attacked, letting electricity spark along his body, ready to really make this thing suffer.But before he could, Mya made another call. "Eelington! Move!" He did so, watching the ultra ball arch through the air towards the cyndaquil. Ah. She was serious about trying to catch this thing. Well, worse come to worse, they'd have to try and weaken it some more, hm?

The Ultra Ball hit the Cyndaquil, which vanished into it. The ball shook once, twice ... and popped open again. Cyndaquil took a moment to look around and try to register what had just happened. The human had thrown ... some kind of ball at it? A ball that made the world go away? Awful! How dare they! That was even worse than everything before! Enough messing around; Cyndaquil needed to get rid of these punks once and for all. It threw itself at Eelington, ready to knock him out entirely -- and crashed past him, missing completely. Hey! Nobody saw that!

Damn it! Mya clenched her jaw a moment and thought... ok... Eelington needed to be able to battle in order to cause paralysis. So far, it looked like the cyndaquil was still paralyzed. And Eelington could probably take one more hit as long as it wasn't a direct attack. And the ultra ball did shake almost three times, which was good, right?
If this next attempt failed, then she'd try her second strategy, recalling Eelington, sending out Eon or Chai to whittle down that HP a bit more, and then sending Eelington back in fully healed and ready to paralyze. It was the best option she had. "Hang on, Eelington! I'm trying one more time," Mya said, taking out another ultra ball and aiming for another attempt at a capture. If this failed, she had two ultra balls left. That was... almost enough for another attempt, right? At least, if she was able to weaken this thing down a bit more. It's aggravation was just too cute!! She couldn't take it seriously!

Another ball? The Cyndaquil struggled again, but at the last minute, it just couldn't muster the strength to break out. It was exhausted. This whole affair had been simply exhausting. Why did these people have to come into its home and trouble it with their presence? They simply had no manners whatsoever. If that was just the way the world went, then the Cyndaquil supposed it might as well go with the flow. Give up. Let the yokels run roughshod over it. Whatever. The ball shook mightily: once, twice, thrice ... and fell still, resting on the cave's stone floor with an air of defeat. Mya had caught herself a Cyndaquil.

Yes! Mya smiled and picked up the ultra ball, putting it in her bag before pointing Eelington's pokeball at him. "Good job, Eelington, come on back. Eon, you're back out front." The bagon nodded. So be it!
"Alright... next one is yours, Sebastian, let's see what else we find. Should we, uh, look while we start heading back to the entrance?" She asked, pointing her flashlight down the dark tunnel. She didn't mind either way, she was satisfied.
She would celebrate later. For now, they didn't know how dangerous it could be down here. They had to be careful.

Sebastian smiled a bit at Mya. She'd definitely gotten pretty strong with her new team, but he'd had to step back when her electric type had come out. His jacket was tingly if he got too close. "Nice catch Mya! Cyndaquil are pretty rare, it's the Fire mouse pokemon!" He said brightly, hugging his Everest close.
"Yeah, let's start heading out, we don't wanna be down here too long." The researcher was idly pulling out a potion and applying it to the bruises on his pokemon while he started walking up towards the surface again. Everest purred happily after the stinging went away. "But this... wasn't too bad. We should do this again some time." He said brightly with a smile. Besides, he felt safer when someone else was there with him. And it was a bit more fun. "Maybe once we're both stronger we can try for Mt.Veerie together?" He suggested, adjusting his glasses on his face.

As Mya and Sebastian made their way back towards the surface, they came across a Pokemon in the middle of the tunnel they were following, making snuffling noises in a patch of compressed dirt. The Pokemon appeared to be ... eating the dirt? Yep, it was eating the dirt. The Larvitar had just found a vein of delicious soil and was eating away, dreaming of the big strong Pokemon it would evolve into with such quality food. It glanced up as the humans approached, but couldn't be bothered to do anything about them -- it was busy. Besides, what could they possibly do to it? Its rocky body was practically impervious. Practically.

Maybe it was being down here so long or maybe it was just the fact that Eon hadn't even been in a battle yet today. So when they came across the thing eating... dirt, Eon snorted and charged, aiming to use a strong Bite on the larvitar!Mya opened her mouth to try and order Eon to stop, but by that point it was too late. Oh, whatever. Let him have his fun. Maybe Mya could try to capture the thing. Who knew? She was tired and was ready to go home anyway.
