Grand Re-Opening! | ||
BREAKING NEWS! The exhibition match between Professor Yew and Farrah Whitaker to bring back the Deprin Pokémon League has been struck with horrible disaster. Officials are on the scene to get people medical attention and try and find the attacker. The battle started as normal in an attempt to show the region was ready for its first gym leader, Farrah Whitaker, who was being tested by the region's top mind on pokémon, Professor Yew. The event, which was sponsored by Salve Co., was to be a public exhibition match. Hundreds came to watch the fight at the lab's old battleground. Halfway through the match, an unknown assailant who has been identified as a member of a group that calls themselves "Team Schism", attacked both the Professor and Mx. Whitaker. Here we have some video of the Schism member's Blastoise using a move called "Hyper Beam" on the battlefield which reached parts of the crowd. As the attack was underway, the unknown assailant shouted "Corporate scum!" as they turned their pokémon loose on the event. Authorities don't know where this unidentified person went, but if you have any information, please contact Deprin's police department at the number on the screen. We currently don't know- oh, wait. Hang on. We're getting some information in now... Mx. Farrah has been taken out of the debris on the battlefield! They seem to be alright, but will be taken to the hospital right away with the others that sustained severe injuries. We are waiting for a full update on her condition. And, some more information coming in and... I... Oh. Oh no... Everyone... It's with a very heavy heart that I- that we here at Deprin Morning and Evening News Circle report that- that Professor Yew has been found on the battlefield and is- is unresponsive. She has just been declared dead at the scene. This is a dark day for Deprin. Please, if you have any information Team Schism, please report it right away. And... and keep the Professor and her family in your thoughts at this time. This is Deprin Morning and Evening News Circle... keeping you updated on all the news in Deprin... cut to commercial... please. -- An attack during a exhibition match that left one trainer severely injured, several hundred with mild to medium injuries, and Professor Yew dead at the scene. The culprit was an unknown person who was identified as belonging to a new group that has formed in Deprin called Team Schism. Who is Team Schism? What is their purpose or goal? Did they mean to kill the professor or was this just someone framing the team for this accident? Will you take the challenge to find out? It's been a long time in the making, but Pokémon Rapture is back! There have been quite a few changes that have happened, so let's jump right into it! I. Leadership Changes First up, Pokémon Rapture has undergone some leadership changes! Bees has transferred the title and ownership of the site to Dew, and Artificiary is the site's new co-admin! Bees themselves has stepped down to a site moderator. At this moment, we are not currently looking for more moderators, but keep an eye out in the future if you were ever interested to help out with modded wild encounters! Likewise, the Discord is also now under the management of Dew and Artificiary. You may have seen some changes in the Discord set-up and rules, but most everything is the exact same as it was! II. Site-Wide Changes* There have been many site-wide changes from the new skin to every single rule and informational post being rewritten and updated. Please refresh yourself with the rules and regulations, as well as with everything located in the Services board. Most of the rules have stayed the same, but there have been a few small changes here and there, especially in Services. But that's not all! Here is a comprehensive list of what else has changed: i. Lore: The site's general lore has seen an update, as well as area lore for each city and wild area in the region. Lore events will also help push the site's lore towards solving the mystery of what caused the Rapture and changes in Deprin. Of course, we want players to write the lore with us, so if you have any ideas for events or potential lore updates, please reach out! ii. Sub Areas: each wild area now has sub-areas! These locations have different encounter tables (save for the area's core pokémon) and you can transverse through these areas. You can only go to adjacent areas (such as from 1 to 2 or from 2 to 3, you cannot go from 1 to 3 without going through 2). Or, you can choose to start in certain areas (Salve Island being the exception). iii. Living Dexes: each area you can encounter pokémon now has a living dex. This is the exact same encounter table staff use during encounter threads; however, only the first 6 pokémon (an area's "core" pokémon) are currently on the tables. The rest will need to be discovered! Each time someone encounters a pokémon that has yet to be uncovered in a modded encounter thread, staff will update the living dex revealing more of the encounter table! Likewise, these tables will be updated with each new generation. Speaking of... iv. Hisuain Pokémon and Fossil Pokémon: you can now encounter these pokémon in the Safari Zone (which has also seen a fresh update)! Most fossil pokémon will only be available in the Safari Zone. Hisuain pokémon will eventually be moved out of the Safari Zone and into the routes and wild areas. v. New Generation Pokémon: any pokémon from new generations will be introduced to the Safari Zone first once their information on the Pokémon Database and Serebii is available. Then, after a few weeks or months (depending staff's real life obligations and schedules) they will also be moved into routes and wild areas. vi. Advertisement Challenge: to help promote the site's growth, we also have an advertisement challenge up and running! Get rewards for advertising the site on other roleplay sites! Check out the challenge thread for more details. vii. Pokémon Swarms: there will now be pokémon swarms! Three randomly generated pokémon will swarm each month. See the swarm event post for more information! viii. Site Store: the site store has been updated! There are some interesting items for sale. Go check it out in Services! ix. Five Moves and Starter Egg Moves: all pokémon will now get five total moves (if applicable for the level they are encountered at). Staff trust everyone to edit their pokémon's own move sets to give them a fifth level-up move. Likewise, all starter pokémon will now automatically come with a random egg move from its egg move pool. But wait! Does your starter pokémon not have an egg move yet? Have no fear! Keep reading! x. Self-Modded/Volunteer-Modded Threads: we now have a brand new type of encounter... self-modded/volunteer-modded threads! In general, these are encounter threads result in encountering wild pokémon without the need for staff (except at the very end for approval). This new feature will be available as soon as we finish testing it out! xi. 2020 Halloween Candies: some of you may have some candies from the 2020 Halloween Event, Trick or Treat. If you have these candies, this is a reminder that you can use them! Here is a refresher of what they do:
*We are still finalizing lore in just a handful of locations! But each location's encounter tables are ready to go! We are also still finalizing self-moderated/member-moderated encounter threads, but this will be released very soon! And finally, Mya's gym is up and running and Farrah's gym will be completed soon as well! III. Grand Re-Opening Events We have two events lined up to bring the site back into full swing! October 29, 2022 - November 30, 2022* *If you have a thread on Salve Island up and it is not complete by the event's end, don't worry! You can still roleplay in the thread. Likewise, you have until 12:00 am on Nov 30 to claim a thread on Salve Island for your character(s). i. Starter Egg Moves Event:
Starter Pokémon(s) Tracker Link: (please put the tracker links to your starter pokémon that need an egg move) ii. Salve Island Event:
I wish to have an encounter on Salve Island! You can participate in both events at once!! You can combine the forms above into one post and staff will respond with your starter pokémon's egg move AND your Salve Island encounter thread! That's all for now folks! Till next time! |
