Name: Percy Wright
Age: 18
Gender: Cis male
Hometown: Sylvanport
Appearance: 6'1", lanky build. Tan skin and thick, curly brown hair in a permanent state of disarray. Light stubble and a mole on his right cheek. Hazel eyes. High cheekbones and a strong jawline.
Personality:
Often mistaken for callous or anti-social, Percy simply isn't accustomed to dealing with individuals outside of his family. He struggles to carry a conversation comfortably and clams up when asked personal questions. He is very soft-spoken and shows visible signs of discomfort in loud environments. He can't stand when others raise their voice. He maintains a wide berth between himself and others, even when in conversation. He almost never makes eye-contact.
His bond with Pokemon comes much more naturally than with other people. He is compassionate and quietly driven by an urge to explore and understand Pokemon and the reasons for their return. He has a particular interest in dark and ghost-types. Though under-educated and not book-smart, a youth spent foraging in the Gladegloom forest has gifted him with good survival instincts.
History:
Percy grew up as the youngest child of a large family residing in the furthest outskirts of Sylvanport. He has never been particularly smart nor strong. His siblings, of which there were seven -- all boys -- outclassed him in smarts, confidence, and physical capabilities. The family were incredibly poor and, being so large, often struggled to provide food for everyone. Most of his childhood was spent foraging in Gladegloom, taking care to never stray so far in as to become lost like in the stories. His siblings and parents always came first, as their contributions were considered of higher importance. Rather than harboring resentment toward the family who treated him as lesser, Percy has grown up learning to put the needs of others before his own comfort and safety.
Pokemon, however, did not treat him as a lesser being. Upon their return, he experienced reciprocated compassion for the first time. It is for this reason alone that he decided to take charge of his own life and left home in the hopes of becoming a Pokemon trainer. His family, unhappy with the decision, have cut off contact.
