Personality As a part of the fragmented community of Summerhill, Grey can be seen as antisocial or cold. Rarely going out of his way to talk with people, he treats most with the standard air of amicability, but that doesn't mean that he particularly likes them. He even keeps friends at a defensive arm's distance. When someone suggests that they "should hang out more," he's the type to say "yeah, for sure!" with the intent of never following through on that. Grey's coldness plays into his strong sense of individualism. Ambitious and competitive, Grey will always take up the opportunity to further his own achievements. With this in mind, one of the closest relationships that one can have with him is that of a rival. He holds no disdain for those who can best him - only the drive to surpass. He values those who can push him further, and his strongest sense of friendship tends to be with peers who can do just that. As much as he wants to be at the top, it seems as though he's be lonely if he ever reached it.
History For generations, the Seelie family and the Seelie family business were inseparable in identity - nothing short of one and the same. Long before the rapture, Marianna Seelie made a living through the founding of the Westplain Security Company: little more than an Aggron and its trainer, hired by businesses to protect their caravans of valuables that were too heavy to be transported through other means. Settling down in one place was incompatible with the Seelie lifestyle, but her, her husband, and eventually her children made their vast workplace their home as they continually traversed the familiar routes just Northwest of Summerhill. It was thanks to Marianna that the Seelie name and the Westplain Security Company became the premiere caravan guards throughout the Desprin southwest - the first to call according to any business who was worth protecting To say that the rapture threw a wrench into the family's way of life is an understatement. Once known across the plains for their relationships with their pokemon, the Seelies were left without partners and without a profession. Without pre-existing claims to land, Grey's paternal grandparents were forced to settle in the undesirable outskirts of Summerhill along Route 4, just outside of the expanding marsh that served as a graveyard for the crumbling city that the family once frequented. As part of what has been a farming family for the past two generations, Grey has spent the last three years of his post-high school life tilling the fields, just as his parents before him did. Although Grey sees the return of Pokemon as an opportunity to revitalize the historic Seelie reputation, his family has their reservations: a dependence on Pokemon is what got them into this economic mess in the first place. Regardless, their pessimism that has long-trapped him at home has done little to curb his vision of becoming a renowned trainer - and it is here that his story truly begins.
Appearance Grey stands at about 5'10" with a mildly-athletic build from his life of fieldwork Picrew by Citrus Captain (and thanks to mothlights for finding it!) |
