Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara looked at the apps Farrah showed them and nodded, taking a quick note to download those themselves. "I see your point! Those are very good places to start." They rubbed their chin a bit. "Maybe there could be an initiative to give phones to new trainers without one... sort of a thank you for adding to the database and caring for a pokemon..." It was a question for another time and to pitch to the board.
"Ah, music! What a fine career. It's vital to keep the arts alive. And I'm sure traveling around with Decibel there will only give you more musical inspiration!" A trainer-musician, what a combo. But as the question fell to what Takara did, well... that was a tough one. They looked towards the library entrance again. Still in the clear of assistants, thank goodness. "Sadly no," they sighed. "My work doesn't really give me time to be a real trainer, not like I would like to be. I'm a business person. Been in the whole business thing before pokemon and now I'm kinda locked in." They chuckled. Locked in... more like, if they left Salve Co. then some jerk would probably take over and overturn all of the hard work Takara was doing. Goodness knows they were trying to get the board members to quit so they could bring on newer, fresher board members. "It's rough, having my ideas in a part of the world so steadfast on a quick profit instead of helping others." Shri nodded with Takara. She had witnessed the meetings... it was never pretty. Takara was not usually a person that showed their emotions. Takara was reserved, always seeming happy. But the board was sometimes able to spark that anger and it got... scary when Takara raised their voice. Thankfully, she had only witnessed it once. That was not a side of her trainer she liked to see. Especially since she could feel Takara hated getting too upset.

Farrah nodded with a hum of agreement to the mention of the new phone initiative - they didn't have much they could add to it at the moment, but they certainly agreed! In the back of their mind, they were starting to come up with ideas - fundraisers, in a way. A lot of rich people liked coming to their concerts... if they held some as events raising money for these causes... it wouldn't tie those kind of people's name to it, as it was charity, but it was a way to take advantage of their less than altruistic reasons for donating to good causes. Some of those wealthy businessmen liked to make themselves look good to the public. They couldn't care less about the causes they helped fund, but it didn't mean the money wasn't helping. And if they kicked up a fuss? ...Well. Farrah could take care of that.
"I sure hope he does - though I also hope he actually likes what I have to play," they chuckled. Licking his chops happily and wiggling his tail, Decibel looked up at the mention of his name with a soft gruff. He seemed to like Farrah's humming thus far... but who knew? It also depended if he actually was cognizant of the years of Farrah experimenting with songs in her studio with his pokeball nearby. "Ouch," Farrah said in response to Takara mentioning the rough part of their job. They were sympathetic; growing up in a business family, the musician absolutely understood... especially with Takara's views that seemed to be so wholesome in comparison. "The world certainly needs those ideas... it's just a shame those older than us are so blinded to the forest from the trees... I think that's how the saying goes."
And Takara seemed to not recognize Farrah at all for their musical profession... they relaxed significantly, propping their head up on a hand and offering an easier, more relaxed and open smile. "So, if you weren't locked in..." they chanced pressing forward, slightly, "Would you be a trainer full-time? You don't strike me as the type to enjoy bein' shut in a cubicle all day - apologies for assuming." This was of course under Farrah's view they had of Takara so far; a rich business person who had a very kind soul. Kind souls weren't the big-wig dictators, so they must be a different kind of employee - PR, maybe? Or a developer... either way, Farrah had decided that Takara was someone that they wanted to know. A likened mind... something very rare in Farrah's life, if they were honest.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds All the arguments with the board came up in Takara's mind. Yeah... it was hard for those people to see the forest for the trees, alright. The board wanted full control over the company and had gotten so used to a CEO that let them make all the decisions. They weren't used to someone that fought back and had the power to fight back. At the end of the day, they had to bend to Takara's will at least a little bit. Or, as Takara saw it, being the CEO of a company was similar to being royalty. Monarchies are not democracies.
They did laugh. A cubicle. That was funny. If one counted a high rise office with a great view a cubicle... but... well, didn't seem Farrah had caught many public press conferences. That was good. "I'd probably focus more of my time on training, but I'd still like to use my degrees. I mean, I can pretty much go where I want and do what I want, but I'm always hounded by the company." They sighed. "So it isn't really the freedom to do what I would like.... which sucks but that's alright. I prefer ground work anyway. And if I'm gone for too long, who knows what would happen." Ugh, the board would love for Takara to take a vacation. They'd undo all Takara's hard work then.

Farrah tilted their head slightly at the laugh. Did... they say something funny? Maybe it was a laugh of agreement. Ah well, they wouldn't read too much into it - afterall, they were only just meeting one another anyway; Farrah didn't know Takara's quirks yet to make any judgement.
They frowned and nodded in empathy to the situation Takara was in. "I absolutely understand that. In music, you always need to be active, doin' something new, or you'll get left behind and poof! Forgotten. I love it, but it's nice to take breaks once in a while." Sometimes it got to be a bit much - that was why Farrah enjoyed doing charity events or simple meet-and-greets, or even just unannounced appearances playing tunes at local cafes and dives. It kept them in the public eye, and they were still doing things to help others, but it was also much less stressful to meet fans on a more level playing field - or in the case now with Takara, being able to just be themselves uninhibited by fame entirely.
"It sucks, not bein' able to take the freedom we wish we could have.... but," they winked, smirking as if in on a little secret, "That makes stealin' away the freedom we do take all the much more sweet, don'tcha think? Like a lil' adventure, or a secret mission. And now with Pokemon, there's a whole new level of things to learn, explore, work with and see."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds They nodded. "I have to agree, it's nice to get away. Like a little treat sometimes." Takara did frown slightly, however. "Although, I do wonder... music must be a business where you have to stay up to date at all times, like you said so... it must be rough. I couldn't imagine. I'm lucky enough that I get updates in the forms of update reports and the like, but you have to like, actively look at everything, right? That's wild."Takara would be honest, they did not know much about music. Business? Yes. But the music industry was another beat entirely. They shook off the thought. "But, hey! I would love to catch a show sometimes!" This was how you made friends that weren't from school or the corporation, right? If Takara was honest with themselves, they had no idea what they were doing on this front. With Yew, they were roommates so they had to socialize a lot. And at Salve Co. it was more of.... well, just talking to interns and making sure they were getting their paychecks Takara had promised. A good intern was a potential employee in the future, and it was important they made money to feed themselves. The board could disagree, but Takara had put their foot down.

"You'd be right, there," Farrah nodded in agreement. "I listen to radio news a lot when I can, but it's mostly just listenin' to the conversations of folks on the streets. Drunken fellas at lil' dive bars are a surprisingly good well of information." Of course, Farrah didn't bother to mention the other 'wells' of information they had... such as the economic reports from the family estate, or the... rather annoying trash to sift through when it came to paparazzi or propaganda slander for anyone looking for some scandal to keep the beat high and people entertained, but that felt irrelevant. Stating the small-time info was true enough - any starving artist had to travel a lot, and chatty drunks did have quite the loose lips...
"Can't promise the shows are much excitement, but I'd sure love to see you there." Farrah grinned quietly for a moment. It was... really nice, actually, to meet someone interested just in the sense of wanting to support someone's interest. Extremely different to someone who was just a-- Oh No.
The grin fell off the musician's face instantly as their eyes drifted somewhere past Takara over towards the information desk. Immediately, their relaxed nature stiffened, stress tightening the corners of their eyes. They tried to look nonchalant, but the change in Farrah's mood seemed to alert Decibel as well, who perked up to look where his trainer was looking, before looking between them, Takara, and Shri. There was a handful of people over at the desk, talking with one of the librarians. On first glance, they seemed to be normal people, if not dressed a bit business-like, which was unusual for the late evening. But Farrah had seen one holding a clipboard, and they thought they might have seen something like a mic on one of their lapels. That was too formal to be a fan, but... reporters? Or worse, someone looking for some late-show celebrity gossip? Farrah didn't want Takara to get dragged into the spotlight or some interview, to be harangued on their behalf... But how to get out of the situation?
Farrah nudged Decibel subtly under the table with their leg, and as if on cue, the Zigzagoon hopped off their lap and onto the floor, zipping a quick circle around the table before looking up to Takara and Farrah with puppy eyes. Farrah pushed down the anxiety in their throat, before glancing back to Takara. "You sayin' you wanna go for a walk, Dec? It uh - it sure is a nice night out, isn't it? Would be a shame to let it go to waste. Would you-" they tilted their head at Takara in a show of nonchalance, "-well, want to enjoy the night to continue our conversation? Fresh air might be good for our lil' partners, too."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds The sudden change in mood had Shri's face changing as she looked to Takara. They frowned at their little pup and back up at Farrah. They were having a good time chatting but... something must be up for Shri to react. Following Farrah's gaze, Takara soon figured out why. They tensed visibly and Shri let out a worried nose, gripping Takara's arm in a calming gesture. As calming as it could be for her.
At the mention of a walk, Takara nodded. "Yup, I'm good with that. Let's go, Shri." Takara quickly put back on their sunglasses and stood up, pushing in the table and making sure Shri was with him before zooming off towards one of the exists towards the back of the library. "This way," they said quickly, looking behind 'em to double check Farrah and Decibel were following.
Once they reached the door, Takara held it open for the others and the moment they were across, they let it close before they slowed down their walking with a sigh. Takara didn't know what the hell a reporter or... well, someone was doing there. Sure wasn't one of theirs. Takara took out their business phone to make sure it was still off. Yup. They had to chew out a new assistant for calling their personal phone just an hour earlier... wouldn't surprise them if some of them were looking on the ground now. "Welp, it is a lovely time of day, huh? Nice temperature out!" Shri frowned up at Takara and Farrah. They felt.... off. She let out a worried whine and stuck by Takara's leg.

Farrah didn't even think twice to actually consider why Takara had seemed to instinctively know to take a back exit - or why they seemed just as eager to get out of there. They were just grateful for the quick move, and quickly sauntered alongside until the quartet had made their escape outside. Once they were there, the musician held in a sigh of relief, gaze instinctively darting to the side to make sure they really were alone, before relaxing enough to not seem completely stiff. "It sure is!" they replied in a similar tone to Takara. "Clear skies, open warm fresh air..."
Decibel was circling around Takara, Shri, and Farrah in a facsimile of a Herdier, as if warding off the negative tense energy that seemed to permeate the air. He only slowed down once it seemed like the two trainers weren't acting as if they were in immediate danger, and then his gaze shot over to Shri, so close to Takara. He glanced up at the two trainers as if to gesture to them, and furrowed his fuzzy brows. Something certainly wasn't right... the Tiny Raccoon Pokemon was concerned about them. And Shri sensed it too, didn't she? He gruffed at her quietly.
For once, Farrah didn't seem to notice their own Pokemon's nervous energy, caught up in their thoughts. It was alright. They evaded notice, it was fine, nothing was wrong. They took a long deep breath - and another furtive glance down the street, before exhaling and offering a comforting smile to Takara. 'Relax, Farrah. It's just the two of you again, it's fine... Stop acting like you're a nuthouse, you're going to freak out your new friend...' "I actually love the nighttime," they admitted. "Even when I was in college. It's quiet, peaceful..." They finally noticed Decibel herding the three of them, and found themselves laughing softly. Already a regular ol' bouncer, he was. What a good boy. "Dec's a dark type. It's probably no wonder we took to each other so well, eh?"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Once they were outside, Takara took off their sunglasses again. Thankfully, pretty much no one but their own assistants recognized them in regular clothes. Maybe it was the tattoos sprawled across their left arm and over their back and on the chest. Or maybe it was no one really expected the CEO of Salve Co. to wear baggy cargo pants with a few too many pockets and a loose tank top. Either way, Takara was pleased detection by... someone was escaped. Poor Farrah, though. They know it was their idea to go for a walk but maybe they had picked up on the nervousness? No, not likely. Farrah wasn't a riolu, after all."The night is wonderful, I agree," Takara said, taking in a breath of the cooler night air. "I do love it more during the fall, though." Takara watched Decibel run around them and gave a chuckle, looking down to Shri and giving a patient smile. She just frowned up at him, making a worried tone. Takara looked back up at Farrah. "Hey, so, since we are walking around, I heard of this new restaurant that sells roasted berry dishes. Seems like old cooking crafts are coming back, thank goodness, but we should swing by and grab some. Might be nice to have some warm berries to snack on while we walk." Shri fell back from the two after seeing and hearing Decibel. She returned his worried noise with one of her own before trying to explain in the best terms she could. "Ri... riolu..." she said quietly, walking behind the humans. She looked around and pointed, hoping to draw Decibel's gaze towards a billboard for Salve Co. Smack dab on it was a picture of Takara, although in a nicer suit and with their hair nicely tired up in a ponytail. Shri continued to explain the anxiety Takara felt... the worry. Although once she finished, she looked to Farrah and made an inquisitive noise and gesture. Were they alright?

Takara seemed as if they were relaxing a bit - maybe it had been too stuffy in the library and a walk had been the right choice anyway? That put Farrah at ease more than they were willing to admit. They adjusted the translucent dark blue butterfree-patterned scarf that was usually draped over one shoulder and arm like a silky pauldron to around both shoulders like a shawl, more comfortable in the not-quite cooler air. This was one of their more casual looks, but clothes didn't help a lot when their two-toned hair was usually a much more obvious giveaway. Maybe they should invest in a beanie...
They nodded in agreement. "Autumn's the most beautiful time of year, hands down." They tilted their head in curiosity, perking up slightly at the mention of a new restaurant opening up. That certainly did sound absolutely delightful... especially enjoyed in the nice cool weather. And it was so sweet of Takara to offer, too - Farrah found themselves fighting off a flush of pleased embarrassment. It had also occurred to them that they'd never really gone out for casual meals or walks with a friend - this was such a nice change of pace to life. "That sounds like a fantastic idea. It's amazin' to see the crafts already comin' back, and I bet they're darned delicious. Sure, let's do it!" They smiled crookedly over to Takara. "What kinda flavors you into? I know berries are such a wide array... and certainly different to the general taste of Deprin." Which was to say... relatively flavorless algae and 'shrooms. Edible, but nothing super special.
Meanwhile, Decibel slowed down as Shri talked with him, stopping his circling to drop back and walk at the Riolu's side. He gazed up to where she was pointing, and tilted his head curiously as he took in the billboard. Ohhhhhhh..... it certainly explained a lot to the raccoon-dog, if he was understanding. Decibel often saw his trainer on big posters, too. He listened carefully, ears perked as Shri explained Takara's own viewpoint, before almost letting out a laugh that came off as almost a gruff growl of amusement. "Ziziiig... zi. Zigoon." Looking around himself, there wasn't much he was seeing of Farrah's own identity at the moment... so he looked up at his trainer with a concerned expression and nodded thoughtfully, before looking back to Shri in his own explanation; of Farrah's own concerns and anxieties... and the surprisingness of how their situations were much more similar than they might otherwise think. But he was certain they'd both be okay.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara thought about it a moment while taking the necessary turns to the restaurant. "I like sweet-spicy things. You know, stuff that has that nice sweetness, but still has the bite of spice! I also enjoy the more umami types of berries, the ones that have a bit more... savory. I find they cook well into more whole meals."Although, Takara had to wonder. Perhaps Salve Co. had managed to save some seeds of wheat and oats and corn and other things... it would take time to bring it all back, of course... but they could. And now that milktank were back they could bring back cheeses and milks. Oh, they were hungry just thinking about it!
Shri listened intently as Decibel explained the situation, she nodded as she processed the information, then made an 'oh', in her own way. Yes, that would explain it.... hm. Well, the humans were strange, but as long as they would both be fine with the situation, then why worry too much? Shri nodded in understanding and then smiled, relaxing her shoulders a bit. Perhaps Professor Yew was right, Shri did need a break. "Oh! Here we are!" Takara smiled and held the door open for Farrah and their pokemon. "Also, it's on me. It was my idea, after all." It was.... nice, being able to spend time with someone else and actually just hang out. Takara hadn't done this since college! "I figure we can get what we want to go so we can enjoy the night. Too nice to waste indoors."

Farrah hummed in response, making sure to repeat Takara's preferences in their mind until they'd remember it later. Sweet-spicy - similar to Farrah, in a way! Though Farrah prefered spicy or sour things. Especially spice. But it couldn't be the kind of spicy that was hot just to be hot, because that didn't have any flavor. It just made your mouth numb. They liked extreme heat in flavor and variety. If it made your nose run, but it was still incredibly full of flavor? That was the good stuff. "I agree. Some of the more robust flavors that add to and round out a dish's palette are often the most underrated. People underestimate the subtleties of a good full savory taste."
In their childhood, Farrah's family had a way with taking the standard algae and mushrooms and transforming it into fancier fare - and it was because they'd been privileged enough to grow up with spices. Luckily, some of them were certainly still around, because they came from either rocks, like salt, or had been dried and preserved to last for years. Sneaking into the kitchen to learn from the family chef was one of the few happy childhood memories the musician had.
Decibel relaxed as Shri did, and yawned contentedly as the four of them meandered about. She was right - they were both alright, so at least for now there wasn't much to worry for. And besides... both Shri and Decibel were there too. Just in case. As they approached the restaurant, Decibel moved forward to push his head against Takara's leg in a show of mild affection and appreciation, waiting for Shri to go in first before following. Farrah lowered their gaze with a very gentle, "Ah, thank you," stepping in and aside quickly for Takara, before nodding. "That's very generous of you. I really appreciate that... and I quite agree. The weather's too lovely to spend it hidin' away inside... ah," they smiled. "I trust your judgement on what you think'll taste best, since I'm not familiar with the selection. Sweet n' spicy sounds lovely, honestly."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri smiled at Decibel, same as Takara, and walked into the building and taking in a deep breath. She loved fancy food. In the sense of what was considered fancy at the moment. Takara was spoiling her, sure, but she knew such treats were supposed to be enjoyed in good company and not something to always indulge in. She smiled up at Takara and Farrah when they approached the counter.Thankfully, it was late enough that it wasn't too crowded and there was no line. Takara thought carefully, humming to themselves slightly. After a moment, they approached the counter and placed an order. After they paid, they approached Farrah again and smiled. "I got us both a sweet and spicy berry and algae wrap! It's pretty good. They salt the algae nicely so it adds a bit of flavor and the texture isn't too bad either. I also got some roasted berry dishes for our pokemon." It was only a moment before the food was ready. Takara gathered their food, plus two bottled waters they ordered, and handed off Farrah's share. They went back and got Shri and Decibel's meals and smiled at them. "I'll hold these till we find a place outside to eat, alright?" Shri ran to the door this time and, pushing with all her short might, managed to get it open large enough to Decibel to pass through. Takara got it the rest of the way with their shoulder, smiling back at Farrah. "Ready?" They asked.

While Takara was at the counter, Farrah absolutely couldn't help themselves. They crouched down to the two Pokemon before reaching out and gently patting Decibel on the head. It was as if a big wave of relief just rushed off of them by just the simple contact. Nobody was going to bother them at the restaurant, they'd gotten out without an issue from the library... it was all fine. Thank Arceus. "Thanks for takin' the hint to get outta there, Dec," they said softly. "That's my good boy."
They'd shared a grin with Shri, before standing back up and dusting themselves off as Takara came back over. "Oh, wow-" they almost felt like their mouth was watering. "That sounds absolutely amazing. Sweet, spicy n' salty? Heaven on the tastebuds. Thank you." It sounded as if Takara had been here before - Farrah was even more glad to have relied on their decision, then. They were also impressed at the speed of the service - quickly balancing their food to free up Takara's hands.
Decibel's tail was going quite wild as he sniffed up at Takara, and spun in a circle before following Shri to the door. "Ziif!" he woofed at her in thanks before zipping through the open space, and continued to run in circles outside as he waited for the other three to rejoin.
Farrah did, chuckling at the Zigzagoon's insistence. They smiled warmly up at Takara as they nodded to them, making sure they had a good grip on everything as they walked. "Absolutely! Let's find ourselves a nice place to enjoy a lovely meal. You know..." They twirled around to walk backwards and face Takara once outside. "I think there's actually a nice spot not far from here if I'm judgin' right. It's one of those open forum areas that I think used to be for Pokemon battles, or something? After they all disappeared it went a bit by the wayside and was left unattended. Still a pretty area, though, and very few people in the evenin.' I, ah-" they laughed, lost in memory for a moment. "I used to spend a lot of time there in college - it was a great study place after the library'd kick me out for the night, since it was still pretty peaceful."
The musician actually still spent a lot of time there when they were in Mistveil, which was why the spot was actually relatively still well-kept and not in total disarray. It was one of Farrah's little hideaways where they could get some peace away from people and write music without needing to put on their Strum facade. ...Not that they were going to admit that they had hiding spots anywhere. That would be weird. "If you like, we could wander over? Also - can I help you carry anythin' else?"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds A spot to eat that sounded lovely? Sign Takara up! They were all about that, and Farrah seemed very sure of themselves. That was good enough for Takara."That sounds wonderful!" they said with a slightly chuckle. "Sadly, most of my time in college was spent at the library and then in my dorm room studying. That's what a double major and a minor will do to you." Oof, college. Takara had a great time, but it was rough. They bit off a little more than they could chew back then but it all worked out in the end. Then there was graduate school..... three graduates schools at once was a horrible, horrible decision. Takara was still finding some grey hairs from the stress. "Lead the way! Shri and I would love to see this place." Plus, it sounded secluded, away from prying assistants that were probably still trying to reach Takara's business phone.
"Ah, no, I got it!" They smiled. "It's not too much. I don't mind." It wasn't that much although it did fill up both arms. At least the to-go orders came in little tupperware containers. That made it a bit easier. Although the smells, even from the pokemon's food, had Takara's stomach growling. Oh well, it wouldn't be long now!
