Letting out a low whistle as they led on, Farrah looked at Takara, impressed. "Damn. You weren't kidding when you talked about wantin' to put those degrees to work. That's a long time of schooling to not do so." Farrah had only had a single major and minor in college, but they were both also related, and things that they had been taught incessantly growing up home-schooled. To take on that much work... wow. "I socialized more than I probably should've, in college, all things considered," they shrugged. "All worked out in the end, though."
The musician smiled to themself as they heard Takara's stomach protest. They certainly felt the same way, but it wasn't too much further. It had been a couple streets up walking, as Farrah slowed down as if looking for something specific. They knew where the turnoff was, but it never hurt to check that there weren't in fact other people around... and there didn't seem to be, so they stopped by a little side alley, nearly blended into the walls of the buildings. "Just through here and right around the corner."
The alley itself was fairly short, but there was a little turn-off under an archway near the end of it. Passing through, Farrah took a couple steps to the side and grinned over towards their companions. The archway opened up to, quite as they had described, an open forum. Flagstones paved out a large rectangle in the center of the area, which was surrounded by grass. The opposite end of the forum was bordered by an iron fence, and there were a couple of lamps and leafy trees, weathered and old, framing the scene. A few tables were setup on the stone with surrounding chairs, and against one of the building walls, there was a row of old, beat-up looking benches that clearly hadn't been used in some time.
Farrah narrowed their eyes at a spattering of leaves on the ground. They'd have to dust again. But things looked like they were still relatively untouched! "And here we are! You can kinda see what I mean by a battlefield, yeah?" They tilted their head as they examined the area mildly for a moment, before looking back to Takara. "Think this'll do for our purposes?"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds They smiled at Farrah. "Hey, college is a fun time! I wish I spent more time socializing." Might have more friends, Takara mused to themselves. It wasn't a problem. There wasn't really... time for friends, but Takara did want more people to hang out with after work and stuff. It was getting so exhausting only being around people that cared only about money and profit. Seeing Yew earlier did revitalize Takara, however. But they also liked spending time with Farrah. They were a very down to earth person. Hopefully this would turn into a friendship of sorts. Takara could hope, right? When they got to the alley, Takara looked down to Shri. She didn't seem nervous. Good. They followed Farrah and Decibel with no protest and when they came out into the area, Takara gave a small whistle of appreciation. This was a nice place! Private, out of the way. Lovely. They put the food on one of the cleaner looking tables and looked around. It did look like it was maybe used for battle years ago. They wondered if people would find this place and start battling here again, testing out their skills as trainers. "I definitely see what you mean." Takara looked around and approached the fence, looking down the slight drop. "This place is as good as you said, about getting away from others."
They sat down and opened the pokemon food containers, setting them down on the table. Shri jumped up onto one of the benches and made a happy growling noise, chomping down on a berry.
"I think this place is just fine." They smiled at Farrah, sitting down.

"It's certainly a balance alright," Farrah chuckled. "My first year or two or so I was pretty on my own academically, but that last year especially... hoo! Probably coulda stood to hit the books more, but then I suppose I wouldn't be here!" College had been... such an experience. An awakening, of sorts - in a significant number of ways, all of which that would put Farrah on the path to the person they were now. That being said, all that fell to the wayside as an adult, save for the birth of their career... but look at them now! Actually making a friend, going out to dinner? The Farrah of ten years ago would be proud.
The trainer busied themselves with dusting off the chairs for a moment as Takara took in the view, making a mental note to come back at some point with a rake. "Isn't it, though? Was always a great place to study on account of the peacefulness." They perched themselves on another one of the chairs, sitting cross-legged on it without their feet touching the ground. Decibel hopped up himself to claim his own bit of the Pokemon food - daintily holding one of the berries in his front paws and nibbling away at it with care, tail wagging in happiness. Farrah hummed in quiet affection at the two Pokemon, before setting their own container down to get comfy. "I'm glad you like it, though. I think part of the peace comes from the position - it looks like it might be one of these building's yards, though it isn't, so folks don't usually think to come by."
Farrah took a bite of their wrap - almost as daintily as their Pokemon - before their eyes widened, anything they had to say almost forgotten. They paused for a moment to swallow, and then, "Oh. My Arceus. This is amazing. Its like one flavor leads right into the next, and just, wow? You chose absolutely amazing there, Takara, my goodness!"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara chuckled. They were happy Farrah liked it. They took a bite of their own and carefully wiped their mouth and making sure they chewed and swallowed before speaking again. "I'm really glad! I really enjoy this one when I come to town to visit." They sighed a bit. "Food is one of the only real breaks I can get. So, wherever I go for work, I try the food there and try to pick out my favorites. I don't get a lot of free time so it's one of those small things, ya know?"The only free time Takara even got was when they clocked out for the day, but their work was never done. Re-doing everything their predecessor had implemented was hard enough, but that often meant late nights off the clock going through documents and papers. There was nearly a century of papers Takara had to go through. Food and exercise was an escape. Speaking of... Takara could see how someone would think this was the yard of a building. It would be nice if it was cleaned up a bit, some chalk put down on the battlefield to allow people a place to battle again. Places like this were probably filled with trainers years ago. A shame, really, how its now abandoned. Maybe there was some funding in the company that could be put aside for rejuvenating these places.
They felt their phone buzz before they could say anything else. Takara checked their personal phone, giving a deep frown. They had told the assistants time and time again that the personal phone was off limits. They sighed and muted the call, shoving their phone back in their pocket before giving a smile. "There's actually this great little burger place that has started to use grilled berries and algae between two portabello mushrooms, like the bun? It's amazing. If you are ever in Summerhill, you've got to try it." It was amazing! Sadly, expensive, but still!

"Yeah, I absolutely understand that. Sometimes, music means I'm around food - and the breaks in the day are the times either someone else has a slot, or a I get a lil' break for hydration or a quick snack." Farrah absolutely understood. And while the above was true, sometimes on concert nights, they didn't even get a break for that. They had a water-bottle on stage like many performers, sure, but big venues often meant Farrah was up most of the night, and when you're performing, you certainly aren't eating. Sometimes they were tired enough that a simple drink with their stage crew was all they had in them before retiring for the evening.
They hmm'd quietly, taking a moment to take another bite as they let their thoughts collect themselves. When they'd swallowed, they nodded. "Its nice to get to try new things out in about when travelin' - or just get those nice comfort foods ya just can't get at home. There's this treat they have up in Toploss - maybe it used to come from Veerie? - its shaved ice that's flavored with crushed berries. All sorts of interestin' flavors, but it's nice for a hot day. I don't see it in other places."
They paused for a moment as Takara checked their phone. That look on Takara's face... it seemed like it was important. Glancing over to the Pokemon for a reaction, they didn't find one there - but Decibel was very daintily licking bits of berry off of his paws, as if he were something prissy like a Glameow. Farrah smiled back at Takara at their resumed conversation, though. "That sounds delicious! Leave it to Summerhill to make even mushrooms stand out as somethin' special, huh? And usin' berries probably makes the patty taste so much richer... Though, ah," They paused, before nodding towards Takara's pocket, looking quietly concerned. "Not to pry - but I'm not keepin' ya from anythin' important, am I? If you need to take a call, by all means, it's not a problem. I of all folks know how it goes."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds The music industry sounded fascinating, although Takara didn't know much about it. The big musicians probably faced a lot of different challenges. Maybe Farrah would get there one day. That would be amazing to see. And shaved ice flavored with berries sounded delicious! Man, Takara would have to try and make a business trip to Toploss, but sadly they didn't seem too intent on Salve Co. Which was fine, they got it.
They did laugh at the question, though. "No, not at all! It's not important. It was wait. Besides, I'm off the clock and Shri gets upset when I try to work on my time off." Shri looked to Farrah and nodded. It was true. She was still working on getting Takara to stop looking over old Salve Co. files and reports before bed. For some reason, they seemed dead set on learning everything the company had done since it's founding and where most of the funds were being put.
"You know, I've been wanting to take Shri out into the wild for a bit, like exploration and seeing if we can't find some more pokemon to join our team. I was thinking Gladegloom Forest first. Seems like a nice place, you know?" Maybe going into the wild with Shri being so small was not a good idea, but having more pokemon on the team was a very interesting thought. They wondered what they would find.... "What are your plans? Any thoughts of what kind of team you would like to have?" That was a trainer-y thing to talk about, right?

"If you're sure!" Farrah chuckled as well. They totally got it - if something big was going on, sometimes the stage crew would call Farrah constantly in near panic. They rarely answered though unless the same person called more than three times, or if their assistant called. They could trust their crew to handle themselves, and besides... it was often something as simple as 'did we want blue lights for this section, or white?' which was an easy enough choice. They looked to Shri as her name was mentioned, and chuckled again quietly at the affirmation from the little Riolu. "Ah, workaholism... I respect that, buuuuut," they turned back to Takara and winked playfully, sticking their tongue out for a moment. "Gotta side with Shri on that one, sorry!"
Decibel woofed in agreement. Overworking wasn't great! Years and years in his Pokeball had taught Decibel just how much of a mess his trainer could be. All-nighters working over lyrics, running the books... it was even worse when those stressed out sounding phone calls happened with those older really thick notebooks once a month that left Farrah laying on the floor and talking to his Pokeball. Bookkeeping was bad days for too much work. Scratching an ear, he picked up a pecha berry and offered it to Shri, tail thumping gently on the bench.
"Expandin' a team sounds like a right time! Afterall, what's bein a trainer without havin' a gang of lovelies we can call a family, right?" Farrah grinned with a nod. "And now there's so many places we can go without worry of like.... muggin' and stuff. Got our own lil' guardians." The musician tilted their head back in thought, staring up at the stars beginning to twinkle in the sky. "Mmm.... Gladegloom sounds like an amazin' start, actually. Might have to head out there myself." They looked back again. "So much life to those woods, y'know? Like, how are they thriving the way they are after all this time? And now I can't even imagine what kind of Pokemon might be there, now!"
Farrah absolutely loved those woods. They had a fascination with them as a college student, often having fantasies about just disappearing into the woods and living as a hermit never to be bothered by society's standards again. Alas, that's not quite how things worked out, but it still left so many mysteries untold! "A team of my own, hm? Well," they chuckled. "There's still a lot to learn out there, but I think my only two requirements is that they wanna chill with me, and that they like music! Havin' a housemate that can't stand the thing you based your identity around? Hoo." Farrah'd dealt with that one year. Hadn't been a fun time. "I'm such a night owl, though... and the way I've bonded with Dec, I think Pokemon like him'd be a good fit. Which is interestin', considerin' dark types have such a bad reputation according to the history books. Can't begin to imagine why."
They shook their head. "What kinda critters you hopin' to find in Gladegloom?"

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Takara was able to fight down a bit of a blush at that, but not a small chuckle. Shri gave them a look and seemed to hum to herself in thought. What an... interesting feeling. She'd never felt this coming from Takara before. The longer she spent with them, the easier reading their emotions became. But this was something else entirely. She was distracted when Decibel offered her a berry though. She took it with both paws, giving an appreciative noise and nibbling on it. What lovely company."That's a very fair want for a team," Takara mused. Plus, dark types were rather sweet if they had any thought about it. They met a few at Salve Co. when it was safe to let pokemon out. Something about the fact they needed a strong pokemon to represent Salve Co. But nah, a blue dog was loads better than an already fully trained pokemon. "I know there are some pokemon that focus on music as their whole deal. Like, there's this one with like... speakers for ears. And then there's this parrot thing, Chatot? I think? And I believe I heard about a monkey pokemon that drums a beat and it helps plants grow." But none of those were dark types.
Then again, what did Takara want? They shrugged. "Anything, really. I mean, I've read about a pokemon called Gardevoir. I think they sound super cool so I wouldn't mind catching a pokemon in their evolution line. But otherwise I'm not picky at all. As long as Shri likes them and they get along, I'm happy." Shri gave a smile. Damn right. She wouldn't allow a pokemon she didn't approve of to be on Takara's team. She had to ensure they were a good fit for Takara, after all. Takara opened their mouth to speak again but the insistent buzz of their phone stopped them. Takara stopped and took a bit of a breath before giving a polite smile. "Excuse me one moment, Farrah."
Shri frowned. Annoyance. Uh-oh. But it sure didn't show on Takara's face. They simply stood up and moved a little ways away and answered their phone, maintaining a happy-neutral expression. Takara's back was turned to them when they answered the phone, but that didn't stop Shri from feeling their emotions full force. She watched carefully. "Yes?" Their voice was calm, but firm. They have done this a lot before. "Mm. I clocked out about, oh, five hours ago. So, please tell me why this call is so important? Is anyone hurt?" A pause. "I see. Is anything on fire?" Another pause. "Ah, good. Now, can this wait till tomorrow's meeting?" Another pause. "Fantastic. Please pass along that I want each and every one of them to ask themselves those three questions before they bother me further, wasting my time." Another pause. "That's quite enough... Stop. I do not respond to order or commands, do you understand? You are not my boss.... Do not get that tone with me. The matter at hand can wait till a meeting. It is not life or death. I suggest you clock out and go home and try to relax. That's a direct order. I don't want to hear any further arguments, understand?" Another pause. "I beg your pardon?" A pause. "That's what I thought. Good night, see you tomorrow." The entire time, Takara's voice had remained even, calm. No hint of aggravation or upset, but there was a firm tone of authority. They hung up and came back, giving an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry about that. Where were we?" Another assistant that was apparently gearing to lose their job. When would Takara get one that realized they worked for them and not the board?

"Mmm," Farrah hummed. "I didn't know that - that there were musical Pokemon. Speakers for ears?" They chuckled, imagining the kinds of Pokemon Takara was describing. Having amps or speakers on one's head... how fascinating! And a plant growing drummer? "They sound like quite the unique critters." They might have to eschew their previous plans with that in mind... having a team that could be out on stage? Maybe they'd bring it up with their set members, or whomever wanted to be trainers...
They perked up at the mention of Takara's own interests in Pokemon. "Oh, a Gardevoir? Such a beautiful Pokemon. Very, very fitting. And of course, that they fit into the family is what matters most!" Their eyes crinkled with their smile, and they glanced over towards Shri, where the little Riolu was smiling. "Isn't that right, Shri? You're the boss here, you know what's up." They'd turned their attention back to Takara just as the phone began to buzz again. More than understanding, Farrah smiled back and nodded. "Of course."
As Takara stepped away, Farrah looked out to the skyline, getting their thoughts under control. Arceus, they felt like they were being so forward. First assuming the two were a team at the library, and now here they were - flirting? Farrah? Notorious for being married to their work, a hopeless romantic with no hope to begin with? ...Huh. Well, Takara didn't seem dissuaded... 'So far, at least,' Farrah told themselves. Far in their thoughts' rabbit-hole, they almost missed the very subtle turn of tone in Takara's voice. So polite, and yet...
Their gaze slid right back over to where Takara was facing away. Oh. Oh, wow. As Farrah listened, they certainly recognized the tone and especially words of someone who was very politely putting someone in their place; they had to do it with their manager, and sometimes reporters. But hearing it from someone else... and - as they actually took in Takara's physique, the striking tattoos - hearing it from someone like Takara.... huh. Huh. A sudden wave of flustered embarrassment overcame the singer, and eyes widening, they covered their mouth with a hand. 'What the hell, Farrah?' they chastised themselves. 'What are you doing? Stop that! You just met!' Fighting down the surprised emotions, they quickly involved themselves with their wrap, determined to look as if they hadn't just been acting the way they'd been.
Decibel, on the other hand, twisted his head to watch Shri sharply when he felt the energy in the air change as Takara picked up the call. His ears snapped up in alert curiosity, one then flopping over in his face. Was something wrong? He twisted his head around, turning in a circle and looking around, before taking off at speed across the area to look first at the forum's entryway, then zipping around to the outer fence, leering over the edge as if searching for something. Were the people back!? No? No, it didn't seem so. He galloped back around before bounding back up onto the bench, tilting his head at Shri with a quiet grumble of noise. Was her trainer okay?
Farrah had managed to get themselves under control by the time that Takara came back, and smiled easily up at them as if nothing in the world could've possibly happened. "You're fine, don't worry," they hummed. And then, of course, they said something without thinking as they always did in the worst moments. "We were talking about how a beautiful Gardevoir is a good fit for you as a trainer. It, um! They're one of those Pokemon who have a split evolution, aren't they?"
Open mouth, insert foot, Farrah. Open mouth, insert foot.

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri perked up as Takara was on the phone. She felt Decibel's unease and she understood. He didn't know Takara as well as she did and how this was fairly frequent. But there was something else... very similar to something she felt from Takara. Shri turned her gaze to Farrah and watched the other human carefully. Hmm... oh. Oh. That made sense.
"Riiiii," Shri said softly towards Farrah, giving a knowing smirk. You can't hide from a pokemon that can not only sense auras but emotions as well. Shri could feel every soul in the nearby radius moving along the street or in the buildings, but this was the most interesting emotion she could pick up. She wondered if Decibel sensed it as well but, watching him run around checking out the area, told her what she needed to know. When the raccoon-dog came back, Shri smiled at him and eased his fears with soft tones. Takara was fine, this just happened sometimes. But there was something far more interesting happening. Shri went into how she knew, first off, and then what she knew, motioning to Farrah and then to Takara. Hopefully Decibel was picking up what she was putting down about their trainers. Although Shri did give a big smile when Takara came back, playing the innocent. Takara reached out and scratched Shri's ears with a smile in return. Takara chuckled at Farrah's statement, a very light blush coming to their cheeks now. "Yeah! Maybe! But um, yes. From what I learned, there is the gardevoir and then the gallade. The gallade can only be male and they need some sort of stone or rock. But in my opinion gardevoir seems like a better fit. Some articles say gallade can be rather violent." Takara was hoping for a chill pokemon team. Life and work were already so stressful, they didn't need more of that. But they also didn't want pokemon someone could walk all over. They needed some form of bite to them.
They cleared their throat. "But, um... I also read about fossil pokemon. I don't think anyone's found any fossils but I kinda want to go hunting for them, after Shri gets stronger of course." It was a goal. Salve Co. had the resources to research how to bring fossil pokemon back to life, but it would take time. Plus the best place was probably the desert and it was.... rather dangerous to go there as is.

Decibel paused in his sniffing and looking around when he heard Shri speak, noting how Farrah stiffened in accord for a long moment, before forcibly relaxing. Oh, hmm... hmm indeed.
His body language relaxed as he listened to the Riolu, nodding along. Ah - that was unfortunate it happened often, he relayed. Unneeded stress. Phone's were a debatably unnecessary evil. His expression turned decidedly more delighted, and then devious as he continued to listen, though. Looking between Takara and then Farrah, he paused to take in a long sniff in the air. Oh, the reek of embarrassment was so obvious now that he was looking for it. "Ziiiiii..." Decibel looked to Shri and cackled, his eyes narrowing in a challenge. Should they? The look was immediately gone though as Takara came back over, looking none-the-wiser like a simple flop-eared zigzagoon. Decibel? Scheming? Never.
"Hm! Isn't it interestin' that some Pokemon are just solely one gender or another? I wonder why that is..." Thank Arceus, an excuse to not continue to be an absolute human disaster. They could just feel the two Pokemon's eyes on them. "Oh, wow... fossils?" Any sly tones or embarrassment fell from Farrah's voice for a moment, genuinely pulled in with interest. They leaned forwards over the table towards Takara. "You - I mean, it makes sense, but you think that there's really fossils out there? I wonder what kind of Pokemon those would be..." Farrah messed with one of their lip piercings with a finger in idle thought for a moment. "Can you imagine what Deprin might've looked like, millions of years ago when those kinds of Pokemon once existed? And to think, all of the different species and fossils we might not have even heard of... or that are out there just waiting to be dug up and explored." Shifting their gaze just slightly, they reached a hand out to gently rub one of Shri's ears affectionately. "But of course - gotta make sure this sweet darlin' is able to stand on her own regardless of the threat. Just like Dec - acts all tough but is such a lil' softie, ain't'cha, kid?"
If looks could kill, Farrah would have expired then and there. Decibel was staring at Farrah with a look of sheer consternation and offense. Why did his trainer insist on calling him cute? He was not. Cute. The disgruntled expression just seemed to scream the promise of pre-meditated murder in the future, as if to say 'You know I know where you sleep.' He then turned his look to Takara, eyes widening and head tilting as if to say 'tell them!'
The musician failed to stifle the quiet giggle that burst out upon seeing Decibel's look of fury - especially with an ear partially in his face, and tongue blepping out just slightly enough to take literally any bite out of the threatening stare. The laugh, however, quickly turned into a rather embarrassing snort. They immediately clasped a hand over their mouth, cheeks staining pink. The only muffled noise that came out of their mouth after though was an attempt to play it off as nothing. "Oh, come on Dec. We all know it's true."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds The talk of fossils seemed to get Takara to focus back on the conversation of pokemon. This had been something they had been looking into for a while. Part of being an engineer was wondering how to construct things, and turning the desert from a hostile wasteland into an oasis, or at least, a part of it. There was even the old city out there, in the desert. Now that pokemon were back, it might be possible to re-create the area into a safer location for trainers to rest if they explored the desert. A civil engineering masterpiece. It was college Takara's dream."Yeah! I suspect there might be a lot of fossils in the rocks out there. It's a very dry climate, but deserts could have been massive forests in the past. We've seen evidence of it before. So, I wonder if maybe the rocks out there are hiding fossils." Their eyes were sparkling with joy at even the thought. "But, uh, it's a dangerous trip out there anyway, much less while cutting through rocks so..." Shri loved the attention and the ear scritches, making a happy noise at the attention she was receiving from Farrah. She wasn't going to make an argument with the statement either. Shri knew she was small and on the weaker side. Perhaps that was why Takara hadn't spent too much time with her out in the wild and in battles. Perhaps Takara just wanted to make sure they stayed safe during their outings. She wouldn't argue with that, or even added team members that could hold their own. One day she would be strong enough to protect Takara, but that wasn't anywhere nearby.
Takara chuckled at Decibel's reaction, but was quickly distracted by Farrah. Oh, that's cute. Takara hid the thought and the light blush by looking to Decibel. "Don't worry, I think you are really tough," they said. Of course, Dec was cute, but heck, Takara can't say no to a look like that.
Shri made an agreement of her own, but gently elbowed Decibel and motioned a little ways away. To the humans, it might look like she was acting Decibel to come play while the humans talked, but she really wanted to scheme. Ha, humans and not being able to understand them. How wonderful.
She hopped down off the bench and made a small nose up at Takara. "Go on, I trust you to keep out of trouble," Takara said. Shri smiled. Ha. They were totally unaware. Perfect.

Farrah's eyes crinkled in unusual fondness, watching Takara just absolutely light up about the topic of fossils. It was one of the things they absolutely loved most about meeting their fans - when a kid talked to their idol about their passions and interests, it was one of the single most pure things in the entire world. This felt a lot like that... but different, somehow - Farrah was genuinely interested in what they had to say about the fossils and the desert, but they'd talk about it all day if Takara kept looking like that.
Decibel puffed his chest up at Takara's defense of his toughness. He scoffed loudly at Farrah as if to say, 'see? Hmph!' and turned his nose away back towards Shri, especially when she elbowed him. Ahhh, yes! An excellent idea... and these two undeserving gits (well. Takara was okay. Farrah was on thin ice right now......) wouldn't be able to tell what they were doing at all! The Zigzagoon gave a very dog-like wink towards Shri before finally looking back at his shameful trainer, waiting until they actually paid attention. Farrah - hand still covering mouth in embarrassment - finally looked back his way, glancing over at Shri and nodding. "Have fun, you two," they mumbled.
Immediately Decibel leapt from the bench, making a lap around the table before bowing, tail wagging playfully. All part of the show, of course. Can't say he's not playing if he doesn't look like he is... at first, at least. He then zipped off into the grass at top zig-zag speed, flopping over by one of the trees. Far enough away to be out of their trainer's reach, but not so far that the humans were out of sight or unable to be continually observed. He barked across the way to Shri, eyes bright and expectant. Oh, there was so so much to do...
It took Farrah a good long moment to finally get themselves under control, lowering their hand from their mouth. "I.... sorry - about that. Hm!" They scratched at their cheek with a finger, cheeks darkening further and averting their gaze. Arceus, how terrible. A crass noise like that was so.... ugh. What is up with me today? "Ah that's true... it's certainly somewhere to keep on your toes. Real hot, and we don't know what's out there now." They finally chanced a look back to Takara. "Y'know, I've never thought to wonder what Arrigan looked like before all this happened. Or Veerie. Imaginin' it as a massive forest is just mind-blowin'. Like, something bigger than Gladegloom? Deeper, thicker? More lush with life? And now it's all just... bone barren."
They hummed quietly. "And it's not like there'd be a reason for fossils to disappear since they're somethin' long gone - if anything, you'll find em in even better condition, without any natural predators or people to pick through or disturb remains. Just.... a lot of sand."

Plant Your Hope With Good Seeds Shri immediately joined Decibel and began to speak in hushed tones. They had to come up with some sort of plan to push their humans to stop being stupid, oblivious gits. How could they do it? What could they even do? It had to seem like an accident of sorts.... so they didn't catch on. But also something that was guaranteed to at least get the humans to consider certain possibilities. Something to chew on until they meet up again. Because, if Shri was honest, they would meet up again in the future.
Oh, that was even cuter. Takara's blush returned and they tried to get it under control to no avail. But they managed to focus on the conversation. Their wrap was cold by now but, hell, they could heat it up later. This was far too interesting of a conversation with a very interesting person. "Exactly! I mean, I know it's going to be work to find any fossils at all but, I think it'll be fun." They cleared their throat a bit. "Actually, if you ever wanted a break from your music and stuff, we could always head out there together and look around a bit? Might not come up with anything but the company would be nice. I mean, I intend to have a lot of trips out there but uh... you are free to join on one or two."
Takara did not know how to do this. Was this flirting? Where they just being friendly? They had no idea, besides, they didn't even know if Farrah would be interested in Takara themselves. But... informing them of their job was... dangerous. There had been a few times Takara found interest in someone only for them to find out their position and all of a sudden it was just... awful. The person talking about love and first sight and being a real suck-up for no reason than wanting money and power. Takara didn't even really use a lot of their money. They had a nice savings account for emergencies, yeah, but they donated a majority and lived in a rather small apartment. Usually when potential partners found that out it ended... badly. "But! Hey, when we catch more pokemon, we need to meet up again and compare teams! And so Shri and Dec can talk some more, they seem to get along very well." It was true. Takara looked around for the pokemon and saw just a bit of black and white. At least they were having fun. Probably playing with some caterpie they found or something.

Hmmm... yes! Yes indeed. Decibel quite agreed - there had to be something they could do or push... Decibel tapped his claws in thought, thinking. Oh! There was... well, hm. He brought up the two separate times he'd been able to practically smell the embarrassment coming off of his trainer. The first was immediately after meeting - the close physical proximity had been... very obvious. But too much? Unsure. And the other had been Shri's trainer's voice... He mentioned this with his nose scrunched up in thought. What kind of thing using that would guarantee to keep them thinking about the other?
Farrah had managed to miss the blush entirely on Takara's cheeks, so wrapped up in their continued spiraling internal monologue and trying to pay attention to the conversation at the same time. It was an entire struggle and a half getting their own look of embarrassment under control. They offered a gentle smile at Takara's offer, tucking a piece of loose hair behind their ear almost shyly. "Yeah? You mean that?" They tilted their head. "I always appreciate nice company. And you're right - it does sound like a fun time. An adventure out in the sands with you? I think I like that idea, Takara."
The thought that they were being so easily flustered by Takara crossed Farrah's mind again. And it confused them: the musician was no stranger to the idea of the one-night stand. That... was the basis of most of their personal relationships - or lack thereof. What was stopping them from going for it again, being bold instead of this fluttering in their stomach? But then... most hookups weren't people Farrah planned total region-wide infrastructure change with, or philosophy... or went on desert adventures with. Theoretically. And Takara wasn't all over them for their celebrity status, wasn't begging after autographs, or interviews. Something in Farrah's gut was telling them to not be an idiot, for once. Don't scare this one off. And for the love of Arceus, stop embarrassing yourself! Please talk like a normal person. 'That sounds fun, let's do it!' - it's not that hard, come on. Stop flirting, Farrah. They didn't even know if Takara was interested! Yeah, Takara was certainly easy on the eyes, and had that voice, but... they were so friendly and sweet, and friendly and sweet didn't necessarily mean anything.
"Yeah, totally!" Biting down on their lip, they forced the fluster out of their expression. "It'll be fascinatin' to see how one another grows as we settle into this new world. 'Specially with the new trainer occupation changin' how we might live our lives n' grow. And they do seem quite friendly... where'd they go, anyway?" Farrah tilted to the side, squinting towards where Takara had looked. "Hm! Gettin' along well indeed. Off in mischief," they chuckled. "Ah - you'd think this'd be the most important thing to have asked - the fossils themselves. There a certain kind you're lookin' to find? The possibility of ancient forests... grass type fossils, perhaps?"
